Alarm

I wish I read the reviews before choosing Alarmforce. I am stuck in 3 years contract with this company. They have a very bad customer service- in better words they don’t care about their customers at all because they know they are stuck in their contracts. Their agents on the phone are very rude. We had an alarm incident in summer. Since we were at home and felt unsafe, they sent police. But because police didn’t find any reason for the alarm, they charged the company. The company, then, charged us. I called police to appeal, they told me they charged the company not me. I asked the company to appeal. They said they don’t and that we have to pay the charge or extend our contract. Recently, we had two other alarm incidents while we were outside of the house. This time, we asked them to send security not police. First time the security came half an hour after alarm! The second time they came 1 hour after alarm!! I called the company and complained about the delay. The agent disconnected my phone. I thought there was something wrong with the line. I called again, she didn’t respond and put it on voicemail. I continued to call. Again, she disconnected after picking up the phone!!! The next day I called the customer service and complained. The agent, didn’t care about what their agents did the day before. In response to the security service, she said that they don’t control the timing of the security company! She even didn’t accept to transfer our complaint to the security company. See how funny their customer service is. We pay the charge for security service each month to Alarmforce and we have no contact with the security company. When Alarm force doesn’t care about the issues with security company and we don’t deal directly, how to complain about this service. The bottom line, this company protects itself in the lines of its contract and put you under a contract then doesn’t care about your needs. If you need technician, they charge you to send a technician. Over the phone, their technicians are very rude!

Alarm Force

WORST COMPANY EVER.
The technician was very rude when he cam out to set up the system. he place the motion detectors in the wrong places. The motion detector it only on by Velcro and actually ended up coming off which set off the alarm system.

The hardware are very cheap.... the motion door sensors are very out dated and bulky...... the keypad is also the same.... also when the battery dies in one of them the system doesn't tell you which on it cost me almost 100 dollars to replace all the batteries.

This system is also not monitored!!!!!!!! they say they are but i was broken into about a week ago and all they did when they broke in was unplugged the box from the phone line.. and alarm force never even new about it.... so i was paying 28.99/mnth for nothing..

i have majorly upgrade to a smart home monitoring system with more motions and door/window sensors..... for about 33.50/month and i love it

STAY AWAY FROM ALARM FORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Home Alarm

Started from October in 2010, we began the service with Alarm Force but it was clear that the quality doesn't meet the expectation that we had from the advertisement. So we decided to cancel the service several months later. Guess what, the contract was for 36 months (you got it right! that's 3 years from the day the service was installed!!!) Hence, we were stuck with having the equipment and not actually using it for ~30 months. For several times, I tried to call in and ask whether it would be possible for me to pay an early termination fees (or anything equivalent to the remaining payments of the remaining months on the contract) but I was refused to do so.
SO finally, the contract was over. I tried to call in again. Only to find out this time that I was transferred to a cancellation department that never pick up the phone directly. Half a month now and they still didn't call me back since the message that I left. I couldn't cancel the credit card that I had in record because then, they would send me to collection for the months payment of what I decided to cancel due to its useless!!!
Guess what AlarmForce, that's not the end of it until I receive a respond from you.

Alarmforce

My sister in law recently asked alarm force if she could transfer her service to me as she no longer needed the service and I was starting in a new office. The technician came, installed the alarm force monitoring in my office and got a check to enable the company make the monthly deduction. It turns out they are still deducting from my sister in law as well as me. When we called today, my sister in law was told my home service which I have had with alarm force for 7 years has been disconnected even though I have never defaulted nor asked them to transfer my service elsewhere. Customer service here is practically non existent as they have been giving my sister in law the run around and my home that i thought was been monitored apparently has not been for close to 2 months. I will be considering a move elsewhere.

Alarm product. Service.

This is my 4th alarm system over 20 years. 2nd wireless. By far the most expensive. I didn't mind the price thinking that I was getting the elite of systems. It's junk. I was shocked upon installation just how cheap looking the components are. A stupid looking box that sits on your floor and this is the brains of it. On top of paying a very high price for junk they have me sign a three year contract. For what? It seems that I have paid for the system and install. $607.00 for 3 door contacts, 2 motion sensors, 1 smoke alarm, 1 key fob, 2 keypads and 1 flood sensor. My last wireless included all of this and more along with installation for $00.00 and a similar monthly payment. Now, I don't totally blame alarm force for this as I should take some responsibility in not properly researching this company and product. As mentioned, I was looking for and expecting the elite of alarms and due to the high price just assumed that I was going to get just that. My fault. Then I was dumb enough to sign a 3 year contract at $35.00 per month after basically overpaying for a cheap system. Again my fault. All the power to you Alarm Force for finding suckers like me.
Where I blame alarm force is for the fact that I had to get the installer back a week later because one of the door contacts was not working. He supposedly fixed it but it still does not work. I will just live with it as I don't have the time to reschedule around their timeline. Then to top it all off, exactly one month after installation I came home, turned off the alarm and received a message that there was a low sensor battery. I have to start replacing batteries in a system that I paid over $600.00 for within one month? Really? My recommendation is not to walk away from Alarm Force but to RUN. Don't fall for their commercials that are in my opinion "false advertising".

Business Alarm

I've been in the same location for 25 years and I thought I'd give Alarm Force a try, wrong idea. Because it's wireless you need to replace the watch style batteries all the time. They phoned me and said that I had an event at 6:30 AM in my business and they stated that a motion detector went off because it's tied into the front door which has a dead battery. I suggested a visit from one of their Technicians and I was told that I'd be charged for the privilege. I pay exactly the same per month to Alarm Force as I did to the competition but the competitor's service was superior as I really didn't need them once the system was installed as it was trouble free. At home I have a competitors alarm system that's built in and once I had a problem and they came out and fine tuned it for me with no charge to myself. The problem with Alarm Force is they are wireless and it seemed as if the installer had a hot date or something when he installed the system as he blew in and out as if he were getting paid flat rate and it slammed it together in record time. The feeling I got was that even though this business is my life's work and without it I'd be unemployed but it was if the installer, who represented his company didn't give a rat's patooey about it as I was indeed, just another fool ready to be fleeced. And of course since it's wireless the sensors don't use conventional batteries, instead they use the expensive watch type batteries. Not pleased as they sent the cops to my building and now it looks like I'll get a false alarm charge in the mail, thanks Alarm Force. I'm actually looking for the contract as I'll probably take out the system and hand it back to them and pay out the 26 months remaining as I need a system I can trust to work without relying on a watch battery. Trust me, don't bother with Alarm Force's wireless system and just go with a built in alarm system unless you like buying batteries and servicing it yourself.

medical alert system

I convinced my elderly mother to have a medical help button she could push if she were in trouble and needed assistance as she lived on her own. We engaged Alarm Force. No contract term was required. Mom recently passed away. I spent the day on the phone cancelling cable and phone, having utility bills property tax bills transferred to me to ensure they get paid etc.and cancelling phone, cable etc. All of these were done by a simple phone call. Then came Alarm Force. I informed them of Moms passing. They insisted to cancel I send this in writing and include a copy of a death certificate all to cancel a simple $30 / month service. Within 7 to 10 days of receiving the written notice they would send a courier label to return the system and I would need to either take it to the courier office or be at home for them to pick it up. They simply said this is their policy. I asked for a manager. First they were in a meeting then none were in. Then they tried to tell me managers couldn't help me because this was their policy. I could handle the return by courier but what got me was the absurdity of written notice including a copy of the death certificate. To me it seemed they simply wanted to extend the number of days I would pay for the system. All I kept hearing was thats our policy. After about 45 minutes of being bounced around including tech support I told them this is my policy. You delivered and installed the system. You want it back. Pick it up tomorrow at Moms house. I will be there all day. That will be $37.50 plus HST... that's our policy. At this point I was already stressed with Moms passing and now aggravated by these people. Here is my policy. Pick it up if you want it. The Visa account you have been charging is closed. Good luck collecting from someone who is deceased. They picked it up but I shouldn't have had to fight with them. If they had of simply said, like every other service did that day... sorry for your loss. We will send you a courier lable to return the system that would have been the end of it. I can see where their tactics would intimidate many especially the elderly and they would simply give in. Their policy is for the birds.

AlarmForce

Buyer Beware! Know what you are signing up for before you put your ink to paper. This company will not rectify any of your issues and will only put the blame back on you! Do not get stuck in a three year contract!!!!! When I signed a three year contract I was told by the technician that I was signing to waive the fee of purchasing the equipment and hook up. I was also asked by the technician to give an emergency contact number. This was never explained to me. I gave alarm force my elderly mother's phone number as "next of kin." Last October I was robbed of over $10,000 of sentimental jewelry, including my grandmother's jewelry. No one was sent to my house because two phone calls were made, the last one being my Mother who doesn't live anywhere near my house. She made the decision to tell them not to send anyone because it must be my cats. If the emergency contact number had been explained, I wouldn't have put her on there. I went home during broad daylight with a hole in my window and no security. I had to call the police myself! When I complained, I was told I still had to stay in my contract. I have been paying for a service for 12 months that I am completely disatisfied with. This summer I got engaged and sold my house. This is when I found out that my equipment did not come with a three year contract. Why else would I sign a three year contract? I can't take the keypad with me or the main sensor because it is drilled into the wall. Alarm Force's response "you signed to have it drilled into the wall." When asked if I can transfer to my Mom this horrible service, Alarm Force's response was I would have to buy the keypad and sensor again because it wasn't part of the contract. My fiance is with Rogers, I can't transfer this service to my new house nor do I want to because I have zero confidence in them. My fiance is in a contract with Rogers and we want to stay with them. To top it off, I must pay $33.89 a month for the next 14 months and then pay for the equipment that I can't take from the house I sold because it is drilled into the wall. Spread the word! The worst company to ever work with. Once you sign on the dotted line they no longer provide you with any customer service. Run while you can!

Alarm System

I've actually had pretty decent service with these guys. There are only 2 major complaints I have - 1. We have low system batteries CONSTANLY. I feel like every other day I'm replacing my batteries and hearing that stupid woman. The other issue I had was regarding price. It's quite a lot more expensive when you don't have a home phone line and these days everyone is getting rid of home phone lines. This should be assessed and perhaps worked out in the future. Otherwise the customer service has been pretty good for a larger company.
