Brandsmart Furniture Warehouse

I ordered a dinning room set from Brandsmart back in 2007. I gave them a deposit of $1,000 which was stupid of me. They told me it would take 3 months for the furniture to arrive. I followed up several times after the 3 months past and they told me my stuff was delayed and the problem was with the manufacturer. Finally when 4 months had passed, I drove down to the store only to find that they had declared BANKRUPCY. They refused to give my money back and I never got my furniture. BUYER BE AWARE! THESE GUYS ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!!!

We needed a sofa in the basement. The problem was that only a certain size would fit down the stairs. When we went to Brandsmart and explained our situation he suggested a number of sofas. One in particular was one that the arms lift off and so did the back. We both liked this sofa, the color was perfect and so was the size.This also fit down the staircase without a problem. This was the major issue. I have recommended this store to a number of my friends. Thankyou Brandsmart.

I am a repeat customer of Brandsmart, why?? Original purchase of a Natuzzi sofa from Brandsmart (10 years ago) was a dream. Great price, great product and they were kind enough to hold the sofa for us as no extra charge while there was a delay with our new home being built. When we needed delivery no problem. Happy with the service and product we returned to buy a 2 piece sofa & love seat. Was promised delivery within 8-10 weeks due to the time of year, closures for holidays etc. Reasonable enough, fast forward to 6 months later. After checking in every few weeks and being told the furniture would be with the next delivery someone finally came clean and said "oops we forgot to order it". The furniture finally arrived, the quality was not as good as expected and I was not surprised to see that Brandsmart had closed shortly thereafter. I read that they are back in business but unfortunately haven't returned to the level of service they had oh so long ago. Would not risk ordering from them again.

I recently bought a suite of bedroom furniture from "New Brandsmart" on Kennedy Road in Scarborough. The company used to be called "Brandsmart" but they went out of business and there are now new owners. I had read poor reviews about the store but the new owners assured me that all of the reviews I read were about the old owners and that they were working hard to re-establish the business.

Unfortunately I believed them and bought an 8 piece bedroom set. When I bought it they said that I need to pay a $500 deliver and the rest would be cash on delivery. He went on to clarify that I give the balance to the driver. 6 weeks later they called to arrange the delivery (so far so good) but then they explained that I need to come into the store and pay the rest of the balance ahead of time. I refused and the owner insisted. Finally after going into the store and debating with the owner for about 45 minutes we agreed that I would give a bank draft to the drivers. On the day of delivery the drivers showed up 5 hours late, were missing the box spring and dropped the dresser right in front of me causing one of the corners to get crusehd. After some debate I gave them the bank draft and they promised that they would and would deliver the box spring the next day and that I would get a new dresser. When I called the next day to confirm that they were delivering the box, the owner said no, told me that they would not replace the dresser and hung up on me. My brother is a carpenter so he can repair the dresser but I'm going into the store tonight to pick up the box myself so the saga continues.

I have shortened this story quite a bit to keep it simple but I want to emphasize that I have never ever dealt with a company as unprofessional as this. They are completely unreliable, unprofessional and incredibly rude.

The owner also owns the store next door called "R.S.A. Furniture House". Obviously I would recommend staying away from that place too.

We purchased Natuzzi couches from Brandsmart, left a deposit so they could place the order. After 6 months of non-delivery, we followed up with Evan, the owner who kept assuring they would deliver. We then discovered they were going bankrupt and had no intention of fullfilling the order, apparently it was never even placed. DO NOT buy anything from them.

We purchased 3 Leather Designer sofas with matching ottomans for a total of $7500 from Brandsmart. It was a custom order from Italy so we were promised the delivery within 4 months and were asked to put a deposit of $2000. 4 months came and went and they would not answer our calls and when we went to the store, they told us they didn't know when our order would come because they were having a problem with the delivery. We asked for our money back and to cancel the order, but they would do that. It turns out, that week they were filing for bankrupty so the next time they called, they told us our money and order is gone because they have filed for Bankruptcy and there was nothing we could do. We lost our money and had to go to another store to buy our furniture. THEN, 3 months later, we saw that the store has re-opened under the same name BRANDSMART and is running their business again. But, when we went to ask about our deposit money, they told us they couldn't do anything about it. To all consumers, DO NOT buy from Brandsmart, they are scammers and will not deliver your order. If you must purchase from them, they will ask for money before delivery, so most importantly, do not pay anything up front, tell them they will only receive payment on delivery. But the best option is to buy elsewhere!!!

Like so many others, also we have been ripped-off by BrandSmart, even though we already had spent more than 8,000 with another 6,000 dollar being on order. It has been confirmed by BrandSmart that our deposit is definitely gone, and our Natuzzi sofa and recliner are lost somewhere within cyberspace. They also have sold us a Shermag dinning table set for CAD $ 3,500 which, fortunate for us, was delivered prior to the bankruptcy, but unfortunately with a heavily damaged chair. The owner himself had promised that this will be no issue, and they will order a replacement chair free of charge for us. This “worthless” promise had been made sometime in the beginning of October, so everyone can figure out himself the outcome of this – No new chair had ever or will ever be ordered.

It gets even better, we where stupid enough to purchase another Shermag corner unit from the bankruptcy sales which based on the salesperson was “especially” priced for us in order to recoup some of our losses with the deposit of our Natuzzi items. He sold us the unit for 999.00 dollars which was delivered right next day – guess what, we saw the exact same item at Rochester Furniture in Mississauga at a regular price of 1,035.00, and reduced too 530.00 net. Lesson learned!

We purchased a Natuzzi Sofa from BransMart in June 2006. Gave a $900.00 deposit and was told it would be 4 months because it would be manufactured and shipped from Italy via a container.
Well, now its almost 7 months from our order date and no sofa.
Well, everybody knows by now BrandsMart is going out business and the store will be closed by the end of January.
Spoke to them today and they tell me Summit Retail Services Inc. is there liquidator and will be selling off there stock. He tells me to pay the balance on my visa card and Summit will deliver my sofa within a week or they will refund my payment if for some reason they are unable to deliver.
I dont want to give them anymore money upfront but I do want my sofa.
Any ideas?????

Save yourselves the hastle and DON'T buy from BrandsMart! There doors are closing on January 25 and you won't get anything. They were trying to scam me for the balance and gave me there Sumitt Retail Scam. They were lying, I did not fall for it!!!
We were lucky! We got our Natuzzi secional sofa delivered to us by Home Style Furnishings. I emailed and called Natuzzi Americas and they sent there Toronto Rep to BrandsMart and collected all outstanding invoices and directed them to Home Style on Caladonia Rd. Natuzzi released the container to Home Style. The container with my sofa was in Toronto as well as many others but not all. I was told they have been doing this since January 2006! Natuzzi and Home Style were great, they honoured my deposit already paid, I resigned the deal for my sofa with Home Style, they didn't ask for any money upfront. Within a week they delivered and set it up for me and I paid them the balance. I love the sofa, its exactly how we ordered it.
To all others, Try calling Home Style, if you're one of the lucky ones that order is on the container, you will get it and won't lose your deposit!!!

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BRANDSMART!!! We ordered Natuzzi: 3 sofas, 2 ottomans and 1 coffee table from Brandsmart in July 2006, was promised delivery in 4 months, but they conveniently left the delivery date out of the contract. It is now 5 months later and we are told that we will not receive our couches, nor will we get our deposit back. Like others, we got the run-around for a month, when we called they said either "two more weeks", or "the container with your furniture is still clearing customs"....the last time we called they said to give them 48 hours for a firm response, So, 48 hours later we called them back and surprise, they said we would not get our money or our furniture and there is nothing we can do about it. We tried to go to the store to pick up something that was worth our deposit, but they fought with us and said we would have to pay more money for anything in the store (i find that hard to believe!!) and told us to get out. Another couple was in there trying to do the same because they had pulled the same scam on them. In addition, they do not accept payment on delivery to this day (i'm guessing cause they won't deliver). The owner will have many excuses, but do not believe anything they say and do not purchase from them.

Buyer beware...It is important to note, that it appears they have some serious issues. We waited for over 4 months to recieve a partial shipment of our order.

Although the order was manufactured within 5 weeks, we still had been told that they were not ready.

Countless phone calls to Brandsmart were met with attitude and lies, and not until we spoke to the manufacturer directly did we get any answers at all.

Based on my experience and the previous post, if you must buy from them, buy a floor model, or refuse to put down a deposit. And if you do...call every day to followup or nothing will be done.
This was absolutely the most frustrating experience we have ever had dealing with anything!!!
Be warned if you do put a deposit, you may end up losing it..
