I had water damage to my home and Mathias Lillbjork did an excellent job of walking me through the project, coordinating trades and resolving issues. I would recommend On-side to others.

After a severe winter with so much more than normal snowfalls our snow load slid off of our roof tearing off our back gutter section and part of our railings on our house. We also had water leaking inside the house above a window in the kitchen eating area. The Insurance Co. handled the claim and took on On Side. Everything was fixed but it was quite a bit more timely than we thought it would be. It took approximately 4 months before everything was finally done. We had to live with a plastic protection sheet in the eating area and a plastic curtain covering the damaged area from leaking inside the house for over a month. In the end they did a good job.

Onside did a major repair job on our basement bathroom after a shower drain leak. They removed everything (including the first couple of feet of drywall above the floor), dried and cleaned the concrete and installed a new subfloor, shower, vanity, drywall, flooring etc. While there were some delays with the sub-contractors, the communication and professionalism of the Onside staff was phenomenal. They came back a week or so after the job was completed to check on everything and do a few touch-ups. I would highly recommend them.

We had a waterline break on our fridge. Adjuster sent this company in. They came same day and immediately began ensuring that no further damage occurred. It was a couple days later when they removed wet personal goods. All employees who came into our home we polite, friendly, and efficient. Project manager gave some good suggestions on making the best of a bad situation.

We had an overflow from the bathroom sink and Onside did the cleanup quickly and left the area safe for our little kids.
Great communication with the project manager Paul Brietzke. I appreciated how the team handled some of the work that needed touch-ups or redoing; they were easy to approach about anything we thought needed a second attempt to get it right.

My house's hot water pipe was leaking, water was dripping down from the ceiling. The floors and walls were dripping wet. When I called, they came very quickly and helped with the problem. Even though it took awhile, they treated my furniture and artwork well (insurance company covered most of the cost).

On Side Restoration was on site quickly and worked into the night to mitigate further damages. The restoration process proceeded rather slowly but generally at an acceptable pace. The work directly with On Side and through the sub trades was excellent and completed to our satisfaction. Hopefully, we will not require their services again but if we do, we would not hesitate to call them or to recommend them to others.

In May 2017 our basement flooded due to a broken pipe. It was late in the evening and our insurance dispatched On Side Restoration. They were very prompt in arriving to deal with emergency services and worked well into the night to ensure our contents were preserved. I was assigned Gustavo Eccudero as Senior Project Manager and Steve Comeau as Project Coordinator. We are now at the final stage of the renovation and I cannot say enough of how the On Side Team handled all the issues that came up over the process. If you think a renovation will go smoothly, or without issues you are in for a rude awakening, many issues came up and timelines were extended, however, the Team at On Side were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure any issues that came up were promptly taken care of to our complete satisfaction , this was very important to us since neither me or my husband could be at home throughout every step of the process. If you are looking for a Team that will work with you when you have a major problem in your home, I would strongly recommend this company as their whole focus is built on excellent customer service and quality work.

Our experience with On Side Restoration was fantastic. We needed a new side door, new door frame and a small paint job. Justin was knowledgable, helpful and put the customer first. His tradespeople did a great job and were people I trusted in my home. I couldn't have asked for a better repair experience.

On Side Restoration fixed our condo after a flood. But in my opinion, they did a poor quality job. I'm disappointed especially with the tile floors, kitchen back-splash, and tub surround. The tile contractor did not use tile-spacers, so grout lines are uneven, some tiles even touch each other directly with no grout between them. They also left residue on our new tile floors which I have been unable to get clean (grout cement on one tile, caulking on another). There are other elements I consider quality problems, but I'm not going to go through them all here.

In my opinion, the company did a poor job communicating with us. They never called me with updates, I had to be the one to call to inquire about status. They didn't do a quality check of their own, I'm the one who had to compile a list of deficiencies. When I delivered my deficiencies list, most were excused away. Being so tired of the whole experience, I have just given up, there are still deficiencies that were never fixed.

Three stars total. Two stars because they fixed our condo from its previous sewage condition to one that is livable. But the final product is of lower quality than what we had before the flood. How likely would I recommend this company: one star, just because there might be a zombie-apocalypse and there is no one else available (but I don't know, I think I would probably just do the work myself instead, and just bill the insurer for my time and materials).

Next time I will probably research and pick my own restoration company, instead of allowing my strata to pick one on my behalf.
