8 years Carrier furnace maintenance
Hi Joe,
As you likely know, the heat exchanger is the most important part of the furnace and most expensive to repair. We appreciate customers are faced with a difficult situation if their heat exchanger is diagnosed as defective. To ensure there is clarity around the seriousness of a defective heat exchanger diagnosis, our technicians are required to follow a very specific process if a furnace shutdown is required. In the event a furnace is shut down, we offer customers three options: request a second opinion, fix it or replace it. Please let me know if you were told about these options.
