Video security

UPDATE-emailed below rep from alarmforce , never received a response. Once again poor customer service and a reply here just done to,make it seem like they care.

Since having the Video Security installed I have had many issues with. First off the quality of the cameras is very poor colour is not close to being right, in summer my grass looks like snow...not much good to identify clothing if someone is caught on tape.
The cameras continuously go off line and which defeats the purpose of having them. Almost every time I go out of town they stop working. I have called in many times and the problems continue. When I tried to cancel they wanted to charge me 5 months cancelation fee...despite my system not even working. It seems like I am paying for poor service and service that hasn't lived up to expectations. I have had no issue with the alarm system and said I would keep it. After being told they would charge me to cancel the video cameras I will be canceling my entire system and will not deal with Alarm Force again nor will I ever recommend them. Very poor customer service.

Alarm force

Never had an issue with alarm force until cancelling. We sold our house. I out in the agreement of purchase and sale that buyers were to take over but they are now changing their minds. I gave them all the instructions on how to make the switch. I was billed by alarm force after I moved out as the new buyers hadn't switched it over yet. I called to ask if they could call the buyers to get set up and basically it is my responsibility as the contract is under my name. Bullshit. Funny thing is my new twice the size home needs an alarm system and I will be calling another company because the customer service is horrible. Hopefully this can be resolved.

Home Alarm

STAY AWAY! I've had several alarms from different companies over the years, but when I got married my wife had an existing contract with AlarmForce. The hardware is pretty limited compared to what I was used to (primitive keypad with limited functions), but it seemed workable. Over the last 2 years I've spent $70 and endured a fair amount of frustration changing batteries in sensors, which seems odd considering I've never changed a battery in the 15 years of having other alarms. The main unit which has the voice connection looks like a brick, and has terrible sound quality.

Now that our contract is up, we scheduled a visit to have a couple of things looked at (we were considering having an additional sensor, etc). We we told on the phone that our main unit was old, and would be replaced if we signed up for a new 3-year contract.

What followed was a mess. The technician that arrived was helpful enough, but the representative we spoke with before and during the visit was terrible. In short - the hardware couldn't do what we wanted (you can only set one contact for delay). The technician told us that the main unit we had was known to be a faulty model, and should have been replaced. The phone rep was going to give us a new one only if we signed a new contract. They weren't prepared to offer us anything for signing a new contract (besides the main unit which should have been replaced anyway). When my wife told the rep we were going to think about it and possibly consider a different provider, they decided we were going to be charged $50 for the service call! There was no mention of the when we booked the appointment. Even the technician seemed shocked. My wife ended up having to argue with a very rude phone rep about this, and he finally relented. You can bet I'll be checking my credit card statement carefully.

Needless to say, we won't be renewing with AlarmForce. Disrespectful representatives, inadequate hardware, ridiculous charges....

Home Security System

been a customer of Alarm Force for the 3.5 years, didn't really find any issue with the system and sales. just about moving into a new house, so want to cancel the service for the current one, then realized how poor the customer service can be when you trying to cancel their service. called and emailed multiple times to get a waybill sent to me in order to ship back the equipment. never got it, so of course they will continue to charge you even after you have the cancelation confirmation. It will then become your problem not following up with them to get that waybill even after called them and emailed 3,4 times. Their sales department answer phone calls very quickly, the customer service department not so much. They will hang up your call as well. very unlikely now to use them in the new house anymore simply because the money grip act when customer trying to cancel their service.

Alarm Service

I have been a customer for over 7 years and for the first while was very satisfied. Yes they supply the basic two contacts and motion sensor and install it for free. When it was installed it cost me for two additional sensors at $70 a piece. The deal is you supply the batteries. How many batteries could they need? Over the years I have been forced to purchased a propriety system battery from AlarmForce and literally dozens of lithium sensor batteries at a few bucks each, each sensor use two and my grandson's toys last longer. If you use touch tone dialing as most do, you can inadvertently arm the system when making a call. I am now contemplating adding a couple of more sensors on new doors and windows that were just changed. But after reading the reviews on here I realize that I am tired of buying batteries for someone else's alarm system having just run out for more today, as I have another low battery warning. I also believe part of the problem is the equipment is outdated. I think I will be bundling my services together with another provider who offers state of the art equipment and monitoring as well as batteries that last years. Thank you to all those who left their experiences here, I will now get ready to have a hard time moving away from Alarm Force.

AlarmForce

Do not join AlarmForce. I phoned in to cancel and they did not even provide any information regarding how to cancel. Canceling over the phone does not work. They require a written letter/email to cancel. You have to wait for a UPS waybill and then you pack in their equipment into your own box and have to drop it off at a UPS store and it has to be done before the billing cycle. Even after that, they will continue to charge you TWO billing cycles (60 days)! DO NOT JOIN. Unethical business protocol!

Alarm

Alarm force is really good at their service. They are always prompt in phoning you back and are quite thorough in their check up. The camera system they have is always excellent and really clear for us to view when we are away. Really good company I would recommend.

alarm system

We decided to put in an alarm system in our townhouse - this came with a big voice box that had to sit behind our couch...really was someone coming on over a PA going to deter someone from breaking in? At one point we found out that we weren't even connected to the call centre which was over several months...so we were paying for a service we weren't even receiving.

Alarm service

Buyer be ware! Horrible customer experience if you try to cancel! Alarm force is great at selling their product and the service was fine as long as I used them. The issue came when I tried to cancel. It was the most horrible and unethical behaviour I have ever seen from a company. To start alarm force will not cancel your account verbally over the phone. They require written confirmation (although they take sales over the phone.) After receiving written confirmation they refuse to cancel your account and continue to charge you for service until equipment is returned. We made the mistake of returning all equipment except one piece we could not find. Alarm force unilaterally decided to leave the account open and continue charging for service. (please note I have now returned hardware but would have understood had they simply cancelled the account and charged me for the missing hardware). After numerous attempts to get things cancelled I finally gave up and stopped payment on my credit card. They have now continued to bill me for close to a year and my account has been sent to a collections agency!!!! They acknowledge I cancelled, they acknowledge I did not have equipment to use the service but refuse to credit the account for service I could not use and refuse to resolve things with credit company! I have offered to pay interest on the one piece of equipment that was not returned but they insist on ripping me off for service I did not have. It is impossible to speak to a manager you get redirected to voicemail and then called back by a rep and god forbid you call after 4 because apparently no managers work. Steer clear!
