I recently got someone to come do a yearly maintenance service on my water heater from enercare. I was issued 2 b tags by the technician on the November 14th 2024 . There was supposed to be a technician coming on November 15th to clear my 2 tags that I did not schedule. Enercare quoted me the job for $800 dollars to clear the 2 tags. I was waiting at home today from 3 to 5:30pm (Schedule appointment by Enercare was from 3pm to 7:00pm) when I received an invoice out of nowhere that was 0 dollars. No phone call by the technician. No one informed me that my appointment that Enercare scheduled was cancelled. I had to call Enercare and they informed me that the appointment was cancelled. I had to take work off so that I could be at this appointment scheduled by Enercare that they told me I had to be there.
A case file was created. 0-2518966 when I called back. (They told me after that there was no file created and that is no such number for case files). on one call they also told me that it was escalated and I found out later from another customer service rep that no such escalation was done. Making matters worse. He told me the notes on the file said they apparently contacted me about it and it was in the technicians notes when i asked customer service.
The water heater and the line out and whatever was attached to my wall was installed by the water heater people from Enercare when they came 2 years ago. I got the exact same B tag previously and it was cleared (I have that e-mail from Enbridge) when the water heater techs came back and installed a large metal plate in my basement as a heat shield of some sort and Enbridge accepted the clearance of that tag.
I was reissued the same BTAG and 1 more BTAG when the most recent technician came to do the supposedly water heater service. He informed me that I was responsible for this issue even though Enercare installed everything and said it was ok 2 YEARS AGO. I've been using the water heater for no issues until I asked for a maintenance service. I contacted another company and they told me something wasnt right here was the tags were cleared for the same issues 2 years ago and was reissued again. Even they thought it was fishy.
Something doesn't seem to be right here. I need to speak with someone about this situation or someone from Enercare needs to contact me as I have a 5 year old daughter and my gas is gonna be shut off in 40+ days in the dead of winter when this was installed and and cleared by technicians that Enercare sent to my home 2 years ago and I am now apparently responsible for this mistake they made and an $800 dollar quote from Enercare.
Just to make matter worse. I contacted customer care and they told me that the case file created was not real when I tried to buy out my water heater. That was my last straw. I have contacted a reputable company to come look at the 2 B tags issued to see if they were issued correctly. I have bought out my water heater yesterday because the service was absolutely horrible and things said to me was untruthful. I was on the phone for over a total of 10 hours with not real answers and just dishonesty. I've been doing property management for a while this is by far the worse experience I have ever had dealing with a company.
