This is the message I wrote on the company's review post:
"Mateo was able to fix only my dryer. He did not fix my washing machine. After I notified him about his failure in fixing it and sent him the video recording of how it sounded he responded: Honestly, have no other idea what that could be and provided me with a variety of causes for the washers problems. However, when he tried to diagnose it he told me that besides the rotor he could not see anything else that was causing the issue. It was a reassuring remark and sounded like a guarantee. He exchanged the rotor and left, telling me to contact him and let him know how the machine worked. The washer was making the same loud sound as before. At that point I knew that he only made a guess on what the problem with the washer could be. Just to charge me more. When I took a closer look at the old rotor I noticed there was nothing wrong with it. And I did contact Mateo. I asked him to remove the rotor and refund me but, despite him saying he would, he never showed up. Mateo or your company owe me $300 for the part, wrong diagnostic and labour cost on the washer. I view such practices dishonest and I expect that someone, Mateo or his manager, contact me about my refund."
I gave them a couple of months to respond but no one contacted me, called nor sent me a letter or email. Actually, I did not even expect any contact after I read some of the comments here. I called them myself and left a message on a voicemail that probably no one listens to and I also contacted their call center and one of their agents promised me that someone would call me. No one did. After reading some of the comments here it appears that the following is their standard method to run this business:
If a problem is easy to fix and the cost of doing it is reasonable theyll do it well and the customer should be satisfied. My dryer was such an example, he fixed it and it cost me around $550 (estimate, part and labour) still expensive but at least it was fixed. However, if a problem is complex and costly then whoever appears at your place will make up a fake cause, usually straightforward and cost wise manageable, so that it makes sense for you to agree to fix it. In such a case you will pay for the fake estimate, like I did, and you will pay for a part replacement and labour. Remember, that part is not causing your problem. The part thats causing the problem is too expensive to do but they will not tell you that because this way they risk of scooping up only the estimate charge from you. The cost of fixing the true cause would most likely dissuade you from agreeing to repair it. In my case, it was the drum which was causing the noise in my washing machine. Unfortunately, I found out about it much later. It would have been too expensive for me to agree to a fix. But in order to make sure he was successful in extracting the extra fee from me the guy pointed to the rotor (in perfect condition) which he removed in 2 minutes and later replaced it with the new one (also in 2 minutes). This is the way to make extra $. Of course, he must have known the cause of the problem was the broken drum. I asked two other people in this field later on and they instantly named that cause. But my guy would not disclose it to me. This is very dishonest . Beware of this company but if you decide to use their service make sure you keep the repair guy at your place until you test your appliance. In my case this was problematic because hooking up the washer and running it takes time and my guy was rushing out to see other customers..Of course, he wanted to disappear asap. It was just his excuse to get out right after he charged me. The rest of the story you know from my complain to them above.
