New Home Construction

Good at sales, not great, but once you get possession of the new home, be prepared to not get any responses from anyone. The first time I met the site supervisor was on possession day. I built 2 new homes, with 2 different builders, in 3 years and I will avoid Pacesetter if I do it again.

Home Purchase

purchasing my first house was a great experience thanks to Pacesetter Homes. Every step was carefully explained and I was guided every step of the way. What they said they would do prior to purchase was done and I am very happy with my purchase. It didnt feel like they just wanted my money. I felt well taken care of. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Lane Homes

We purchased a spec lane homes last oct 2014 but i asked the area manager if he could change even that backsplash design/color especially the kitchen countertops because i want it to be granite countertops not laminate. He told us that "yes" he can request for that.. that's why we decided to get the house. The house is still under construction and Our possession date will be on April 9, 2015 and until now DQ centre is not calling us for appt. for those changes that we want to be made. We keep on calling and asking why we haven't got any appt. yet to select but they're now telling us its too late and that there's no way that we could change the kitchen countertops which is my important request. (we made the request 5months ago and they kept telling DQ will gonna call us! we waited for that long only to find out we couldn't make any changes and its now too late.. we should've known from the very start.) I am disappointed. The area manager showed us picture of the cabinets, flooring, backsplash color before but we when we visited the area ( pass by) we notice that cabinets color are totally different.. what he showed us is a little brown like on the showhome in spruce grove. but what they installed a more reddish/cherry color kitchen cabinets.. so i'm totally disappointed now. I was excited for our new house but now i am not happy! I'll give 1 because the area manager is kind and nice to talk to.. but other than that..*sigh* )= i'll give perfect ratings and recommendations if they could still fix it esp. kitchen countertops before the possession date.. hopefully!

We are sorry to hear your experience has not been what you expected. With a spec home, most often it is not possible to make changes to finishings, but it depends on the stage of construction at the time of your purchase. We'd like to look into this for you, though, so if you could send us an email to pacesettersales@qualico.com including your job # and purchaser's name(s) we will have a look at what has taken place. Thank you.

New home

We began our home build with Pacesetter in April 2013 with the help of Kelly Smith, he was a great help in setting up the appropriate appointments and guiding us through the building process. Although the build took a couple months longer then anticipated the end product is fantastic. Pacesetter's finishing is one of the best in the business and we couldn't be happier with the finished product.

New Home Build

Our experience with Pacesetter homes has been exceptional. From start to finish the sales rep Kelly Smith was helpful, and an excellent representative of the company and more importantly us as the purchasers. He was knowledgeable and made sure any questions or concerns were addressed in a timely matter and left us feeling confident that our home was being built according to my standards. Now that we have been in our new home for several weeks, we are confident that this home was built to high standards and we received exactly what we wanted. Kelly Smith was an absolute pleasure to work with during the design process and build. I would definitely recommend pacesetter homes and particularly Kelly smith as a sales rep & have already done so to several people.

bought a duplex home with Pacesetter Homes Ltd.

We purchased a new home with Pacesetter Homes in Tamarack Common (Edmonton, AB.). My wife and I first met with Kelly Smith (Area Manager - Danserau). It was a pleasure dealing with Kelly. He was very friendly and knowledgable. Kelly helped us from start to finish with everything. He called us every week or so to follow up with us as to how everything was going with the building of our new duplex. We even received phone calls from him after we moved in just to make sure everything went smoothly. We would strongly recommend Kelly Smith and Pacesetter Homes to all our family and friends!

New construction

Kelly smith was a great sales person and very helpful with any questions we needed. He treated us with respect and was very straight forward and didn't sugar coat things. I would recommend using him. He has the best shoes in the biz. When we moved in there were a few deficiencies that needed attention. I called the numbers which were given to me and they were rectified within 12 hours. One thing I would have liked was address numbers put in my house but that's the worst of my complaints. Design Q was s great experience snd made our home the way we wanted it. We weren't picking our design of a couple options. I recomrnd pacesetter. Thank you Kelly

New House

I bought a spec home from Pacesetter. The sales experience was good and the walk through and move in experience was good. However, I am still waiting for all the one-year work to be completed (9 months later) and a couple of months after the one-year warranty passed, I had a problem with the plumbing. The plumbing company that did the original plumbing came to check it out. They could not find the source of the problem so therefore did not fix it but left my ceiling with holes in it. I would not buy from Pacesetter again because ofthat. It's been disappointing.

Update: May 11, 2015. It is now past two years since I got possession of my new home and all the one year work has still not been completed. I did email the company forwarding this review and the job number, as per the Company's response requested, but I have heard nothing. Don't build with Pacesetter. Once you take possession, it's like pulling teeth to get anything done. I know the saying that the squeaky wheel gets the oil, but why should anyone have to?

Update #2 August 21, 2015: Still no work done to finish off the house and still no response from Pacesetter. Now going into fall/winter, they'll say it's seasonal work. Why could they not finish off the painting on the outside of the house while the weather's been good and they've had painters in the area? Who knows.

new build

we are building a new home with Pacesetter and it went from OH MY GOD (excitement ) we are building a new home finally to OH MY GOD are they ever going to build it . When we signed with them them in April we were told the build would start 3 months after signing , everything should have started by the end of August (giving them an extra 30 days from what the contract says , which stated the construction will be started with in 60 days with all conditions met , they were met end of May s. so it should have started end of July) It did not start until the end of September , twice as long as stated . we called and the sales team said it was the city of Edmonton not releasing the permits or coming for the inspections ! I sent a email to the inspection department which I work closely with and will post their reply later( which basically said not their fault) . Hole finally dug , then sits for almost 6 weeks . we called and complained again why it is taking so long , framer shows up for 1 day , then nothing for a week then he shows up for one maybe 1.5 days the next week . Called the main office and they said it did not make sense it was taking so long to build , then after a couple of calls , no more response from the main office ! The house next to us was framed in a week and a half , 9 weeks later our main floor is not even done ! In my opinion the people running the construction site do not have a clue to how a job is properly set up and followed through . The site super said one thing and it has been 9weeks since he said they were going to fix the under sized windows in the basement and the sales team emailed saying it was to be done by weeks end , 5 weeks ago ! 3.5 weeks ago we were told the framing crew started , but looked like they just posed for the picture , since nothing was done and not much since . The house was to be done by the end of March as stated by our sales person at the time of signing now maybe July or so who knows . We are very disappointed with this builder and would say STAY AWAY if you want to have the truth told - not this company We are beyond unhappy, frustrated and need to seek other advice
