Plumbing

I had a leak in my garage and Mike came by and conducted an investigation right away. He opened up the ceiling, located the leak (from our broken kitchen faucet), and purchased a new faucet with a lifetime warranty. He also recommended that we put in insulation in our pipes (I live in a very old town home) and cleaned everything up. The entire job took less than two hours. Would definitely call him again!

Replaced bathroom sink shut-off valves

to replace the valve and the old water supply hose as well. I told
The cold water shut-off valve underneath our bathroom sink was leaking and soon the leak became more serious, so it was time to get it replaced. This happened on a Friday evening. I called a couple of other 24-hour plumbers, but no one was available to come over. I tried Drain Rooter Plumbing and wouldn't you know it, they had someone available to come over. Mike came over at around 8 pm, and the first thing he did was introduce himself and gave me a business card. He then took a look at the problem and explained what he had to do, which was obviously to replace that shut-off valve. Since the hot water valve was also old, I thought it best to have it changed as well. Mike said it wasn't a problem and gave me a discount. He changed the valves, supply hoses, trim plates, and
did a great job. He was also quite cordial and easy to talk to. He finally made sure the job was done well once he had finished. I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing-related needs/issues. Btw, Alexandra who takes calls, is also quite cordial.

Fast, quality work

Mike D was very knowledgeable and professional. He needed to pick up a replacement toilet for us, said he'd be an hour but was back in 45 minutes. He explained everything he was doing and seemed really trustworthy. His service surpassed our expectations - we'd hire him again but he did such a good job I doubt we'll be needing a plumber for a while! (Our landlady paid for the service so not sure how much it cost)

Clogged sewer drain

I called after my plumber could not clear it with a regular snake. Called at 11 AM and they gave a window of 1-2 PM. They confirmed when on their way (was just a bit late). Mike was professional and used their larger/longer snake with camera. Blockage was cleared and drain pipe to sewer was inspected for cracks/roots. He explained the process throughout as I watched the video monitor. He advised on what to do should it happened again given the age of the home.

Clogged drain in kitchen sink

Mike from DrainRooter is an amazing plumber -- very honest and highly professional. An excellent customer experience.

We had a clogged drain in our kitchen. Nothing was getting through. We called DrainRooter at 11AM on a Sunday and Mike showed up to our house at 2PM. This is the second time we've had Mike and he has been just as professional.

At first the clogged sink looked like it was going to be a major project as the clog was deep. But rather than getting into more than he needed to Mike took the time to carefully examine the situation. Luckily he didn't have to cut into our walls and was able to clean up the pipes fully.

I would highly, highly recommend Mike and DrainRooter. Excellent customer service.

Clogged clay pipes in basement

I had been having my basement drain snaked every year, and for the first time I called Drain Rooter. They were able to get out to my place and assess the scope of the problem right away, and completed the job 2 days later. Mike was excellent at explaining what the issue was (the pipe was completely clogged with tree roots, which he showed me!) and showed me how they corrected it before they filled it in. They had to dig a trench in my basement to do the work, which was competed in less than 5 hours. When they left, the basement was as clean as when they arrived (except less stinky!!). Thanks to Mike and his team for doing a great job. I would definitely recommend Drain Rooter to anyone!

Company Response

Thank you for your feedback Kristen! We always strive to have a plumber onsite when a homeowner needs one most. A clogged drain is prone to cause a stench in the basement because of the floor drain. One of the major reasons why we make it our top priority to finish our work as soon as possible is because we want homeowners to enjoy their living space rather than avoid it due to a stinky smell. Our drain team is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They take the time to explain the issue, show you the repairs and make sure the work area is well cleaned once the job is complete. We are happy to know that we exceeded your expectations! We look forward to working with you in the future. Best Wishes, DrainRooter Plumbing

Drain Pipe

Thank you for your hard work in replacing a clogged section of our drain pipe. I called when I had backup in the laundry room on the Saturday night of the Thanksgiving weekend. I got a visit within an hour. Vlasik scoped the drain and found a blockage. On Thanksgiving Monday 3 men dug 9 feet into the ground....lots of big rocks...they dug and worked very hard for 2 days and replaced a section of the pipe.
It has been a pleasure dealing with this company and I highly
recommend their work. Thank you :)

Fixed clogged kitchen drain

Discovered that we had a clogged kitchen drain late one Thursday evening. I called Drain Rooter around 10pm and Mike arrived the following morning at 7am, which is I believe is earlier than his normal hours, much appreciated. He snaked the pipe and all seemed ok after testing it with hot running water. The following day we discovered that it wasn't fully resolved but wasn't as bad as it was initially. I called back that Saturday morning and Mike responded that he could return the following Monday but would call to confirm availability depending on how his other jobs fared. Monday came around but we didn't receive a call. He did arrive and left his card since we weren't home but it would've been best to call and provide a heads up so we could coordinate better. Called back several times that Monday early evening and finally got a hold of Mike who agreed to arrive early the next morning, which he promptly did. He re-snaked the drain pipe but much deeper and after a week all seems ok. He provided some tips on how to avoid future clogs and general maintenance. Mike is also a beekeeper and purchased a tub of whiteflower honey, which our family really enjoys so if you like honey, be sure to buy one as well.

Thoughtful, thorough plumbing job

Our shower faucet stopped working close to midnight last night. My husband and I tried desparately to fix it as the water would not stop pouring; we had to shut down the water to the whole house. We knew we needed to call someone.

We have two kids under four and are on a very tight budget. We called this company immediately based on the HomeStars ratings and reviews. Mike was here promptly at 9am this morning, fixed our problem expertly, and even tackled another. There was some risk involved because had he not been able to fix it (it wound up being quite a serious corrosion problem that we were totally unaware of) it would have been a huge, expensive, wall-breaking job. Mike was patient and persistent, trying hard to keep it a smaller, solvable job. And he did just that. He fixed it, saving us a considerable cost.

Then, when I asked if he could take a look at a broken pop-up plug, he did and, again, a corrosion problem that had eaten away at the whole plug system. He quickly ran up to Home Depot, picked up the part, and fixed this too.

He insisted upon triple-checking. The bill came to $380, which although more, of course, than we'd hoped given this problem came from out of the blue for us, he was very fair and looked to save us money where he could.

We will not only use their services again, but recommend them happily.

(As a nice, small addition, Mike is also a hobbyist beekeeper, and sold me a 2lb container of absolutely gorgeous wildflower honey for $20.)

Thank you, Mike, and to DrainRooter, for solving this for us fast and fairly.
