Moving QC --> AB

The worst. Especially if your move is slightly more complicated than a standard city-to-city move. I confirmed with the sales woman (I will call her Primary Contact) that the move would be from Montreal to a town in Alberta and included all of the details. She enthusiastically agreed that none of this would be a problem. However, I should have been red-flagged once I noticed her dismissal of some of the key information I gave her - this actually ~would~ be a problem later. We waited 2 months (!!!) for our furniture. This was partially due to Blue Star subcontracting to another company in Alberta - unbeknownst to us. The two companies blamed each other for the delay - leaving us with nothing but phone calls through which we'd relay information between them. Primary Contact in Toronto "tried really hard" to get us a discount for waiting so long, but apparently decided not to pass it on to anyone else and we had to pay the whole amount in the end. Also enjoyed the verbal abuse over two phone calls from the manager (I am, however, honoured that he even took the second call - he seems to be a hard person to find). These points are only highlights - the email conversations I've saved read like Stephen King fan fiction. Note: the Montreal to Strathmore move ended in Oct 2013 with our having to drive the last few kilometers with our furniture loaded in our own trucks. We have since moved overseas (using another company, obviously) and have been busy setting up in our new home. I'm not sure i have the energy to find the missing item that Primary Contact has yet to address.

Never do business with Blue star van lines. I moved from Toronto to Québec (small town) on june 25. They came a week late, i got my stuff 2 weeks after the delivery set up date and 3 big items are still missing after 8 weeks. When I phoned them they are rude and cut the phone. I stayed polite until this day and I have lost over 2000$ Worth of stuffs. NEVER USE THIS COMPANIE. They cannnot be trusted.

Move within the province

ELSA in St Thomas-please contact the daughter of the stray box Bluestar delivered to you in error! PUBLIC warning-DON'T use this company !!
They didn't arrive on time, didn't give the 48 hours notice of their arrival date, didn't give ANY notice of when the van was actually on the street-we waited 10 hours, then the driver said the truck was full
and probably couldn't load our stuff!! After much " discussion" they crammed our stuff in and then we waited 3 extra days and many phone calls later at the other end for them to finally unload-at night , in the pouring rain. You wait on hold all the time, and although Robin, when you can actually reach her, is pleasant, nothing happens. You only get prompt attention BEFORE you agree to use this company. 2 months later, we are still trying to get back a missing box!

Moving

Never trust this company blue star van lines from Toronto. They have a very very bad reputation, poor customer service, a long wait to deliver your stuff, it took 19 days to deliver our stuff. We moved from Toronto to Calgary... A very very bad company, not honest, you will be surprise for additional extra extra payment after delivery. They don't have their own company, they work with different companies, from Toronto and when they deliver your stuff, another company show up... Please do not ever ever try to use BLUE STAR VAN LINES IN TORONTO. They are fake.....

moving

My husband and I recently move from Ontario to Vancouver using blue star, Moving is a stressful time for anyone -a move across the country is extra stressful . Luckly for me , I had Robin from bluestar to help me 100% . She always answered my questions , kept me informed, I had lots of questions and never once was I made to feel like she didnt find them important .Bluestar offered a good price and we were quoted around 2000 lbs.We came in just under that . They were truthful in their quotes and didnt try to add on extras , I have read this about companies . In Ontario the movers arrived on time and were really friendly and kind ( even taking the time to pet our dog ) They were careful with our items and very efficent . I called the Vancouver Office to see if our things had arrived and got no answer , I left a message -I recieved no response .l called they said they hadn't heard of me !!! In a panic I called Robin and told her ,. ( worst nightmare our things are lost somewhere between the East coast and West coast) she reassured me everything would be fine and kept me updated . ( they hadnt heard of me because my stuff wasnt in vancouver yet )Robin turly cares about people , she is friendly and very professional . As most of my dealings were with Robin , I will say that I am very happy with her excellent customer service and positivity . Thanks again keep up the good work

Movers

WARNING! If you value your money or possessions stay away from this company with its head office in Toronto.On an inter-city move from Northern Ontario to Southern Ontario they first repeatedly changed the pickup date at the last minute, refused to show us a contract until moving day, then shoved a multipage document under our noses which we subsequently found contradicted promises we had been told beforehand re: insurance coverage. Their crews were rude, unprofessional, incompetent and left our places at both ends filthy and property damaged. In addition they seriously overcharged us for weight with pathetic documentation which likely did not even use equivalent trucks for the "before " and "after" weigh-ins. They have thus far refused to even address our concern, presumably assuming that we can't be bothered to go to court. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

move from saskatoon to vancouver island

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It has been a month, and I still do not have my things. I have called and spoken with numerous folks, none of whom ever phone me back. I arranged a drop off for some items in vancouver, which I confirmed on several occasions, and yet when the truck got to Vancouver, no one had any idea that items were being held there. This was arranged and confirmed on several occasions. This experience has been one of the most frustrating. The more websites I look at the more you can tell that this company has a pattern and it works: arrange a move, avoid discussing ANY details with the customer, grossly inflate the weight of the items, lose items, and then charge whatever they want.

Move from London to Ottawa

After reading many of the reviews on the site, I have to say I was apprehensive about using ANY moving company let alone Blue Star. But I have to say that my worries were all for naught. My move from London to Ottawa went incredibly smoothly and Elizabeth was professional and helpful. She was happy to answer any and all questions along the way as well. My belongings were picked up from a storage unit where I was not present, and I was really impressed with the level of care that went into packing everything! Everything arrived unscathed and in the condition I had left it in. The movers were really friendly and professional as well! They arrived 30 minutes after the 2 hour window I had been provided with, but they called to give me 20 minutes advance notice as to their arrival and everything was moved in and unpacked in less than an hour. Thanks Blue Star for making my move a complete success from start to finish!!!

moving from toronto to mtl

i read all the reviews ahead of time but made the mistake of ignoring them. All the reviews are accurate. There are hidden charges that will come up upon delivery and it doesn't matter if you already have a quote by this moving company. They are a nightmare to deal with. Please don't use them.... The hidden charges coupled with the fact that no one calls you to tell you what time the pick up and deliveries are.... A huge nightmare......
