Dryer Repair

Like many comments below STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I called then to come repair a door handle that snapped off my dryer. the lady told me it was $80.00 to send a technician.

When Chris the technician arrived he said labor was $200 but the part was not going to be more that $30.00. So i prepaid the labor. Chris calls me back an hour later and says I need to replace the whole door!! Cost was $600.00!! Chris said the plastic door handle was no longer available!! I told him I did not want the service to be done and I want my money back! Of course the company never returned any of my calls and when I called Chris, he suddenly had amnesia and had no clue who I was or was talking about!!

After month and months of calling, I finally got my refund of $200! This is the only reason they are getting 1 star. Carina in customer service was nice and she was helpful but I told her her company are a bunch of crooks and she should go find another place to work!

BTW I called another company who replaced the part for $70.00 and labor was $60. Total $130.00

FOR your own sake and sanity and to avoid any problems. Please STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!

Apalling company -- do not call them ...

Man, it's quick to get these guys to your door but the work is shoddy and they WILL NOT ever call you back -- horrible company that I am going to take to small claims court. My oven conked out -- Chris came that day to fix it -- told me it was two fuses (and charged me $500 to fix it) -- it worked for two weeks and then died again
I've been calling them for over two weeks to get them to come back and fix it -- they never answer their phone and they do not respond to email. I'm giving up and taking them to small claims court. Buyer beware. Appalling people/appalling company.

Dryer diagnostic - stay away!!

I requested a diagnostic for my dryer which was advertised at $80 plus tax. The repairman estimated the cost for labour to be $220 plus tax. We agreed to the cost although he informed us that he did not have the element in his car so would call back with a quote for the part next day. According to the repairman, the part would not be expensive. After calling the office for four days we finally received a parts quote of $280 plus taxes. We refused the quote and purchased the elemeant from a local parts store for $80 plus taxes. This company has refused to return my prepayment for labour which we never used in the amount of $158.20. They say that labour is not refundable. I agree that we owed them $80 plus tax for the diagnostic but we should NOT have paid them upfront for labour on a job that was never completed. We paid them upfront in cash for the quote because they said they would charge a "convenience" fee of $10 to use a credit card. Basically they take your money and run and you have no recourse once they leave with your cash. I seriously question the business practice of this company and its legitimacy.

Broken LG Fridge

STAY AWAY!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY!!! I'm not sure if this company is in business to take advantage of people or to actually do repairs. It was a long nightmare from the get-go starting with a $524.60 quote for a broken control board (I paid half on the first visit out of desperation). Six days later, I was told the part would take over 3 weeks to arrive (for the only fridge in my house). After hearing that they couldn't get the part, I called LG directly and they offered to arrive the next day, with the part and charged me only $220, problem solved. When I called QuickFix back, they refused to refund citing "restocking' fees and "diagnostics". I spoke to Jennifer, Paula & Karina in the office on multiple occasions and no one ever seemed to keep their story straight. When I asked for a email to send a letter of complaint, they gave me a fake address. I should have called LG directly!! Lesson learned!

Miele Dishwasher Do Not Use

STAY AWAY! Look at yelp google BBB reviews

This letter was sent after a visit at the end of MAY. 5 attempts total to get a return visit after a maintenance call "fix" lasted two days.... $ 300+ later - I got no call and no assistance.

Further to my telephone call today, Friday, Thursday and Wednesday. I would like to resolve our outstanding defective repair of our Dishwasher.
The initial repair was scheduled for May 15th 2015. The visit was quoted at $80.00 for an initial inspection. Once this was completed I was quoted $650.00 for the repair. After a brief consideration I informed the technician that due to the age of the machine, I would just replace the unit.

He haggled and offered to complete the repair with minimal parts for $270.00 + tax. Initially I also declined, but then agreed. The repair was to fix Drain / Fill light error, PC charge and Rinse aid. Sceptical that the work would reduce from $650.00 to $300.00 I asked for and received a warranty on the completed work.

The repair on the 15th enabled the machine to operate for 2 days. I e-mailed the main address two times after it the stopped working again. After no response to the e-mails, my assistant called and was advised that She must e mail a request for repairs.... My assistante stated that 2 e-mails had been sent, and this was verified. I was then asked to sign a warrenty document, or no return could be scheduled. Once completed the repair was scheduled for May 29th.

Kitchen Stove Repair

Something must have happened to this company in the last year. Two years ago it was getting many ratings of 10. This year, out of 29 reviews, it has received 26 zeros. That’s a lot of frustration. Unfortunately my experience involved a lot of frustration as well. Oliver, the technician, did a good job of repairing two elements on my electric stove. However, as he was leaving I noticed that an indicator light was still on, even though all the elements had been turned off. He told me that the indicator light was still on because one of the elements was still warm. Then he left. The indicator light stayed on and has never gone off. So he left a problem in the functioning of the stove that wasn’t there before. I contacted him to find out when he could to come back to fix the problem. He wasn’t sure he could without charging me for another service call. I found this absurd as this was a problem that wasn’t there before he came and “fixed” the stove. I then phoned the company and explained my problem. After some delays I was told that Oliver could come on Sunday. I was to leave a 4 hour time slot open for this. I explained that I could only stick around for 2 hours as it was a very busy day for me. The young woman on the phone told me that it was not possible to decrease the window of time I would have to wait. When I asked to speak to the manager, she impatiently said, “Well, if it means that much to you, I can make it 2 hours.” In the end it didn’t matter what she said because I waited around for 2 hours and Oliver never showed up and never phoned to explain his absence or to apologize and book another appointment. So I phoned up the company again and said I would like to speak to a manager. The young woman told me Robert was “currently out of the office” and would be getting back in touch with me. I never did get a phone call from him, but 4 days later, he sent me an email which read,
“Unfortunately, we do not provide any kind of warranty on parts that are not ours nor for misdiagnose done by someone else.
We can definitely book a NEW appointment which will be a service call, and if you decide to repair then the NEW service call will be credited towards the repair.”
This promise for the NEW appointment is simply what is on their webpage for all service calls if you follow through with the repair. (By the way, for the initial problem I did follow through with the repair and I was still charged for the initial service call, so that’s just false advertising.) His email did not address the fact that Oliver missed the appointment, (without explanation or apology given) or the fact that the problem with the light did not exist before he showed up.
Looking back on it now, I realize that the problem with the light just exposed the much bigger problem with the service department. That is what needs to get fixed. Rating:

Miele dishwasher

I had an error code on my 8 year old Miele dishwasher. Despite QuickFix advertising "same day" service, it was not. When he did come, the repair man diagnosed a hole in a hose under the dishwasher, but told me repeatedly that he didn't know what caused the leak and so he phoned someone to ask. This did not give me much confidence in his knowledge or skills. A week later he came back with the part, replaced the hose, and discovered a leak in the seal for both the circulation pump and the drain pump. (Is it likely the hose and two pumps all went at the same time, or did something he did cause the seals to fail?) By this time I'd already spent several hundred dollars on diagnosis and replacing the hose, and it would be as much to replace the two pumps as to buy a new Miele dishwasher. (The salesman was shocked that mine had so many problems at 8 years, saying Miele often lasts for 20 or more years.) Moreover, the next day we discovered the repairman had broken the bottle for the soap dispenser in the sink, which will cost us another $70 to replace.

Washing Machine

I called Quick Fix appliances as they claimed same day service. When the service technician arrived, he was more concerned about whether or not I would be paying him the 80.00 service call fee or did I want him to diagnose the problem. I was a little baffled with that. What would be the point in coming over if not to diagnose? He advised me that perhaps the drain (in the machine) was clogged. He removed drain spout and did something and it appeared to be solved. He told me not to get too happy because he didn't like the "sound" of the machine. He then told me that the drain pump was cracked. He didn't have any with him however the warehouse has 12 in stock so I would be contacted the next day to set up next appt to replace the cracked drain pump. No one called me and five days later I called. I spoke to an incredibly rude receptionist who advised me that someone will call when they get the pump. I told her that I had been told they had 12 in stock and she said "well they're in the warehouse and people don't go there everyday" At this point I was ready to drive to the warehouse myself and pick up the pump. I said that I was advised during the service call that I would be contacted the next day. There was no response to this.
Finally two more days passed and \i got a call to book the next appt. Of course there was nothing available for over another week. When Alex (same technician as first appt) arrived, it was clear he had been informed that I had called and wasn't very happy. He changed the pump and left the old pump sitting on top of my dryer and didn't put the drain cap back on. (This is a front loader) He came to me, told me he was done and it works fine and would like the remaining 50% of the money for the bill. After he left, I realized that with the drain cap off, the water that had been in the machine leaked out and all over the floor and there was so much of it that there's no way he didn't know that was happening because it was within minutes of him leaving. And the topper? There was no crack in the drain pump.
I will never again use this company nor will I recommend them to anyone. The name Quick Fix Appliance...............hmm I don't think so.

Dryer repair

Contacted Quick Fix Appliances for a quote to repair my dryer. Technician came to our home, assessed the problem, told me someone would call with a quote and took my $80 for the visit. Never heard back from the company - they got my money and I never got a quote. The onus is on the customer to follow up - that's not customer service!!

washer repair

Just horrible. DO NOT USE THEM. My washer stopped working. Called these guys cuz they gurateed same day service. He came on time. He checked washer and said he can fix everything on spot, no extra parts needed and asked $250. I said ok and he went ahead. After 1 and half hour he calls me and says he cannot fix it because most parts are damaged and he has order new parts which will cost $350 more. It is brand new 6month old washer and he is telling me to change whole parts!! I said no and he still demanded $250!! I guess his labour charge is 150 per hour. Good luck ripping ppls money QUICKRIP.CA.
