Right from the start it was an excellent experience. Before we found Andy we had received 5/6 quotes from other contractors for our project, while working with an architect, and none of them could really work within our budget. Andy had been working on a project around the corner in which the owners had given him raving reviews. Andy came over, went over our plans and came up with a plan that worked within our budget yet still met all our needs. He was the only contractor who followed up to go over the quote and thoroughly explained it all. The project started and finished on-time, stayed within the contracted quote and thou we did have 2 unforeseen issues, with our older home, Andy worked with us to stay on schedule with a minor increase in cost. All went so well inside our house that we continued with Andy to do our backyard landscaping (which was a complete gut of our backyard with retaining walls, fences, waterfalls, etc). His team were all wonderful to work with, showed up on time and did excellent work. You would not find a better contractor and team to work with. Andy and his team helped create a luxurious bathroom and update our 2nd floor master bedroom.

We started out with wanting to our ensuite, however I have always wanted hardwood on the 2nd floor. May as well do that!! Andy took the time to break down the costs for each project and trade that was going to come through. He even took the time to come to the tile store and make sure I didn't blow the budget. Very happy with the outcome of the reno, not only was he able to come in on budget but he completed the job on time!!!

I should point out we have 2 cats. Anyone with animals please know Andy goes out of his way to make sure they are safe while his guys are there.

From start to finish, our experience with Andy has been amazing. Everything was completed on time and on budget and he made it seamless and stress free. The work itself is beautifully, competently and professionally done with no small details overlooked. The bottom line is that we will go to no one else for future projects. We highly, highly recommend him.

We hired Stratas Design Build in March 2015 to renovate our kitchen. We went from a small galley kitchen to an open concept. Andy and his tradespeople were top notch. The mutual respect they had for one another was admirable. Not only was the workmanship excellent but also they met their timeline and budget that was quoted. After each day, they did a thorough clean-up which enabled us to live in the house during the renovation.
We were so pleased with our kitchen renovation that we hired Andy again in November 2015 to renovate our bathroom. Andy could envision what we couldn’t and transformed our very non-functional bathroom into a beautiful functional one. We are so happy with the space now. Again, his crew were excellent and timelines and budget were met. The clean-up was impeccable. We would highly recommend Andy and his team. After seeing our renovations, some of our neighbours have hired Andy and they also are just as pleased as we are.

Andy was able to create a functional design for our master ensuite. He is very personable and you will be able easily discuss design and detail choices. His crew were extremely timely and exceptionally tidy. The tile work was impeccable and the trim work wowed us! His quote was dead-on and his timeline was exactly as he promised.
It will not be our only project with Stratas!!

Andy Stratus Review

We have known Andy and his team for the past 6 years. Initially, he completed a major 2 story addition on our previous home. He created a luxurious master bedroom with a beautiful walk-in closet, all custom finishes and a spa-like ensuite with carrera marble, heated floors, extra large shower and a freestanding tub. We also renewed our old kitchen with custom cupboards but managed to stay within our budget. Andy guided our designs to make our old kitchen beautiful and modern. Throughout our renovations Andy also helped us blend the old with the new so that the new construction was seamless with the existing structure.

Recently, after moving into our new Victorian home, Andy and his team have done many renovations including waterproofing out basement, updating electrical, updating kitchen, and creating our beautiful ensuite and another bathroom. All of Andy's team have been very skilled, trustworthy, and focused to complete their work on time.

I would highly recommend Andy because he is a very knowledgeable and a talented builder/renovator who is highly personable and very easy to work with. I look forward to more collaborations with our trusted friend.

Andy and his team have done several projects on our home including a full kitchen renovation, extension off the back of the house, new roof, exterior stucco, eaves/soffit/facia, knob and tube wiring removal and rewiring, second full bathroom, complete basement renovation post-flood.

All of this work has been completed on-time and within budget. Andy is an absolute pleasure to work with and takes a personal interest in every job that he manages, visiting regularly, calling daily to provide checkins and updates.

We also have two cats - Andy made sure they were SAFE at all times during the renovations and could not escape the house. There is nothing worse than worrying about the safety of your pets when your house is being worked on. Andy ensured we never had to worry about Toby and Olaf. In addition, if workers finished early, Andy would often pop by (when he could) to let the cats out of the room they were being kept in for safety. I don't think you'll find another contractor that will so this much interest in the health and well being of your pets!

As you can imagine with jobs this large - something is bound to go awry - like finding out you have knob and tube wiring when renovating the basement after it flooded which was already a high enough stress situation. Andy has the ability to calm you down and reassure you everything can be fixed and within a reasonable budget.

Andy has done work on several of my neighbours houses and even a co-workers based on the superior customer service he has provided to us over the years.

We will continue to use Andy in the future - in fact, we have a project on the go to replace our back stairwell which has fallen into disrepair (the perils of a Century Home).

We first met with Andy after being referred by friends of ours who had their first floor completely redone.

Andy was very friendly and really understood what we were looking for in our new kitchen. We didn't really know how many decisions we hadn't thought about until after our meetings with Andy but he was very patient and not only helped us build our dream kitchen but made the whole process kind or fun for us.

We now have a beautiful new kitchen and we couldn't be happier about the whole process. Andy was on budget and even finished the project earlier than initially scheduled.

If you are looking for a low stress and easy renovation, use Andy and his guys!

Andy was highly recommended to us by a friend and we were glad to go with him for our kitchen reno. He was great to work with and listened to everything we asked. We never worried about asking too many questions as he was so knowledgeable and had suggestions for things he thought would work better. We're glad we took his advice on many things - the kitchen turned out great! He even took the time to have a drink with us when the work was done - really appreciated his efforts!
