Alarmforce 2 Way Voice Alarm System

We started with Alarm Force since more than three years. There were cheaper options available but none had a 2 way voice system and we are glad that we did not go for the other companies. The technician was professional, efficient, and provided great suggestions.
Their technical support is always there when you need. Most of the time they can provide solutions over telephone and never hesitant to schedule a service appointment to ensure full satisfaction.
I had great experience for over phone technical support from their telephone technical support person, Indy. Very courteous and informative.

Alarm System

Worst service ever, I had to cancel their services because we started off with a flat rate of 30/month and after 4 months they had increased my monitoring rate to 35 a month I didn't notice this because it was set up as a pre-authored payment and I had not been paying attention closely. Once I realized this was happening I called the to ask why this extra $5 were being charged they said it was due to guard dispatch but I had papers signed where I agreed to no guard dispatch. they apologized but never gave me my money back. After 6 months i noticed again my rate went from $30 to $45 when i called they couldn't not give me an answer. I decided to terminate everything right there now i am looking for an other provider.

Tech Support Agents

I was having difficulty with the door sensors after I changed the batteries. I spoke to two different tech support agents during the past few days. The first agent ran tests and gave me the suggestion to buy another set of new batteries and change the batteries again (as the "new" batteries I used may be faulty or old). The agent booked a service call, just in case his suggestion did not work. I did purchase new quality batteries, changed the batteries and called Alarmforce back. This time I spoke with tech support agent Indy to run the tests. Problem solved. Both tech support agents were professional, patient, and helpful. Thank you.

Happy but could not renew...

Had the system for 8 years and when went through renovations equipment started malfunctioning. Never got a notice from "central" office although there was no problem charging our account from 6 months. When I called to request new equipment, their loyalty program was helpful however their technicians were unavailable for over a month to install. and would not be available for holiday break. Quite disappointing. Didnt seem to be interested in accommodating although they did mention that they would call me to help out... never did. Still billed my credit card for an additional month and am waiting for the refund they claim they would send by mail. Overall, real good at charging you a monthly fee however no real surveillance of the functioning of the equipment or efforts to satisfy longstanding customers.

No customer service at Sandy Lake AB

I can't get any techs to come out to my location because they say its "too far". Its only 50 kms northwest of Edmonton or 30 kms northwest of St. Albert. So I guess once the products are installed, the customer doesn't matter any more. They are not willing to go some distance to do maintenance. I'm supposed to get a free maintenance check by a tech, now i can't even get a guy out if i pay for it. So i have to buy the stuff myself and service myself i guess. This review doesn't allow me to change the location to Sandy Lake, AB. It keeps saying "in Ottawa", its not.

poor customer service, dysfunctioning equipment

We have been using their service for almost a year now. We paid $100 extra originally to get a digital tablet installed for arming and disarming the unit. The tablet almost never works. They have sent technicians in and they get the tablet to work and leave and the next day it disconnects again. It seems to be working only 30% of the time. I called to ask for a resolution after having problems for over 6 months and their response was, the replacement tablets are out of stock, we can replace the unit with an old keypad (that looks super ugly and outdated). I had to ask what about my $100 that i paid originally for this dysfunctional tablet?

Upgrade to digital alarm box

Throughout the installation, our technician Raymond, was professional, personable, efficient, and clearly communicated the options available to us in the location of the new box.
He insured that his tools and other equipment were laid out in a place that wouldn't damage any of our furniture or floors and he was careful not to let the dog and cat out the front door whenever he needed to get something from his vehicle.
I just wanted to let you know that Raymond is an excellent representative for your company.

Refund hard to get

I cancelled my service with Alarm first because I never used it and in good faith I sent all the equipment back over two months ago. Since then I have been waiting for my lousy $30 refund and every time I talk to a rep all they say is we're so sorry to hear about that . Parents simply they are great at taking that isn't theirs!

Antiquated Customer Service

For nine years I had this service and the monthly fess increased over time. Thankfully the service was never needed. After shopping for other options I decided to switch providers...10 months later when my contract was over. I cancelled only 10 days before the next auto draft so it was too late to stop. After calling for a reimbursement or reversal of charges I was informed it would be four to six weeks. Six weeks later I called to inquire and they said it was approved right at the five week mark. However, it would still be another week before the check could be cut mailed out due to checks and balances. After asking to speak to someone about the time consuming refund the service representative said the would UPS the check ASAP.

Either there is intentional manipulation in refunding a clients money or this company is inept at providing quality customer service. The people I spoke to were pleasant but the process is very antiquated. For no reason should I have to repeatedly call for a refund that was due months after discontinuing service.

Home alarm system

I have had alarmfoce for over 3 years. I have never had an issue. They call promptly when my alarm is triggered. They even called me when I needed to change my battery and a system update.
