The 2 technicians denish and jr were very professional and friendly. They answered all of my questions very easily. Denish and I talked about the World Cup final soccer game. Great game. We have been with McKinnon for 48 years and will be with them for the next 48 years

Mckinnon installed the gas piping from our house to the garage. Professional, fast and efficient. Highly recommended!

Furnace died on a Friday ... not heat for 3 days ... we were loaned space heaters. A new furnace was installed Monday afternoon. We were very pleased with the prompt attention to resolve the situation. The technician was hard workding and did an excellent job.

We had a heat pump installed during a reno four years ago. The initial installer was in over his head and the system never worked well. Over the years I had numerous companies come to take a look, they charged me for a few hours of time and left, never to be heard from again. I contacted the manufacturers of both the heat pump and the control board. They refused to speak to a consumer, instructing us to find an installer.

We lived with a malfunctioning system for four years, until it finally died completely. The manufacturers were less than helpful once again. We found Mckinnon heating somehow. They could come check it out, but sent their senior tech since it was complicated. They pushed hard with the manufacturers to get the issue resolved. The owner took a personal interest to ensure a fix. They got someone from the supplier to come and help install. Everything works as designed. They were very reasonable with the labour hours charged.

I am extremely satisfied and cannot recommend Mckinnon heating enough. Everyone there has been nothing short of professional, helpful, and friendly.

Sharing a very bad, almost surreal experience with the owner of this company. I purchased a brand new furnace from them, and the next day it failed. A McKinnon technician came to fix it, and it failed again the following day. I had tenants who were without heat for several days as a result and we were understandably upset. I expressed this to the owner of the company, who without an ounce of empathy or understanding, completely lost his temper with me and said he was coming the next morning to remove the furnace and issue a credit whether I liked it or not. Leaving me to start from the beginning to find a new furnace. I couldnt believe he took such a harsh stance given the situation. He just lost the plot completely and couldnt be reasoned with.

While this company gets some good reviews, and Im sure they do good work, know that if things go south, do not expect any understanding or customer service - They will just abandon you completely.

I'm completing a total renovation of my home and decided to install all new HVAC equipment including the furnace, central air, and water heater. McKinnon installed the previous furnace which worked flawlessly for 24 years before it was removed for replacement. Michael provided a very competitive quote and the installers completed all of the work in 2 days. The installers were very professional and detail oriented. I'm very particular and the installation was perfect. The guys were personable and it was obvious that they enjoyed their job and working together. I definitely recommend McKinnon.

I got many quotes to have a heat pump installed, and everyone wanted to sell me the Mitsubishi brand. However, we wanted one that is compatible with the Google Nest, and the Mitsubishi really isn't. Also other contractors said we would need a backup heat source, and wanted to install electric resistive heating for that backup. Their quotes were really expensive.

We met Michael from McKinnon in Toronto, and he said he has had great success with the Enermaxx heat pumps, which are considerably less expensive and can work with the Nest thermostats. He also said for the size of our house, the heat pump he recommended was more than sufficient without a backup heat source. He has previously used it in larger houses than ours with no backup, and it worked fine.

They don't normally serve Kitchener, but he said he would make an exception for us since we had such a discussion and he knew we were serious about having the work done. We applied for the Canada Greener Homes Grant and Loan, and had the install done.

The two guys who did the install were great. Polite and professional, they wore masks without complaint and worked hard. The install was expected to take 2 days, but there was some difficulty and they returned on the third day, a Saturday, and stayed into the evening to ensure we didn't have to spend the night without heat, as the temperature had dropped and it was now snowing. These guys worked nonstop with only a short lunch break each day. They took away all the old equipment for recycling, and left the work area cleaner than they found it.

Communication with their office was easy too. They are easily reached by phone and e-mail. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone!

Michael and Angie were tremendously helpful when our a/c broke down during one of the hottest summer weekends. They came to our rescue on Monday and then install was quick and easy. We have used McKinnon since we bought our home in 2005. They do not try to upsell you and instead provide you with different priced options. They were flexible and accomodating with us. Service was quick and professional. Quote provided on Saturday and was installed on Tuesday in one day. Opted for 2 stage Carrier furnace. The system keeps the house at a more consistent temp than our old
furnace.

Got a replacement furnace from them. They arrived EXACTLY on time and worked through lunch to get the job done. Work was just as quoted. Two minor follow-up issues where handled rapidly.
