Not good at costumer care

The company sent someone to repair our fireplace. After repair, we paid them on-site. After six months, a credit company called me and asked me to pay an extra 100CAD for Enercare. I asked them to send me the invoice since there was nothing left. I called Enercore to follow up, and they had no record and needed help finding something!
The credit company keeps harassing me.

It is one of the worst experiences, and I do not recommend working with this company if you do not want to get harassed a few months after the work is done!

Poorly trained technicians and awful customer service

This complaint is regarding two major issues that I've had with Enercare. The first is related to a propane leak coming from my gas water heater. Despite the fact that the propane produced an obvious smell in my home, Enercare was not able to diagnose the problem (even after two visits). It was only until I called my natural gas provider that they were able to detect a propane leak and identify where the leak was coming from. Once I ended up calling Enercare again, the technician asked that I send a picture of where the leak was coming from in order to determine whether it was a water heater tank issue. This is the first example of Enercare handwaving a complaint and trying to shift the issue onto something that I'm not covered for. The next issue that I've had with Enercare is related to my plumbing. After having an issue with hot water, I booked a visit with an Enercare plumber (Nov 20th). This plumber identified an issue with my mixing valve. Unfortunately, that did not end up fixing the issue. As such, I once again book a call with an Enercare plumber (Nov 22nd). During this call, the plumber speculated that the issue was an HVAC issue. As such, an HVAC technician was called, and visited my home on Nov 24th. During this visit, the HVAC technician identified that my hot water issue was a plumbing issue and NOT an HVAC issue. I, therefore, booked another appointment with an Enercare plumber (Nov 28th). It was during this service visit that the plumber, once again, identified my hot water issue as being a HVAC issue. At this point I decided to call Enercare to have this issue resolved. During my initial conversations, I was told that the service charge for another HVAC technician would be waived. It's now Dec 18th, and I'm still having a back and forth exchange with Enercare. Of note, they are now going back on their promise to waive the HVAC visit fee. At this point, Enercare doesn't seem to care about the issues that their customers face with their services.

Mew rental Water tank install with $300 master card credit offered but never received

Update: I have raised the rating from 1 to 6 as I have received finally the $300 MC after 7 months of waiting.
I have considered some positive experiences During the past months, there is room of improvement.
-
I contracted a new Giant 50 gal power vented rental Water heater tank installed by enecare last May 2023. The monthly rental is about $45 and the duration normally goes 15 yrs and beyond or simply for the life of the tank!

1- I was told by a senior tech who came to inspect my residential existing installations that I can get different brands GSW - Giant - Rheem when I wanted to signup,

2- I was interested to sign up for Rheem but when I started the process, I was told that they have only Giant in their inventory and it might take forever to get Rheem if they end up getting one! I was advised by the regional office that all tanks have same performance as the company makes special equipment with high quality for their clients,

3- I was convinced to install Giant based on the assurance I received from Enecare, the day of the install, the brand new giant tank failed to ignite fire. The installed which revealed to be a third party installing on behalf enecare, told me that I shouldve chosen other brand than Giant as this one performance is far below than Rheem tanks!!! I was disgusted and disappointed, but Enecare sent the same day one of their Teck who resolved the issue.

4- when I signed up, I was advised that I will get a Master card promo of $300 within 3 to 4 months, I waited for 5
Months and I followed up with enecare as I never received the master card! I was than challenged if that was offered to me at the first place :( then I requested to listen to the recordings and the enecare customer care lady confirmed that the MC was offered to me, that she will let the MC team take care of it if by e-card will take about 6 weeks but if I ask by post it will take 2-3 months. I advised to send it by email and it has been so far 3 months and I never received the MC credit! I called so many times, they keep telling me that this should come the next couple of days, watch your spam, email a notification regarding a prepaid digital solutions with the MC! They finally fulfilled their promise only after weeks of follow up so be careful

5- In the meanwhile they convince me to add furnace maintenance, service program and AC maintenance. The first maintenance session, the tech while vacuuming one of of the electric wires got pulled, the furnace wont start and the tech wouldnt know where he should put that back!. Luckily I had a video of my furnace wiring scheme that
helped us to put it back where it belonged and the problem got resolved.

Misleading price issue but the sales manager was able to resolve this

I had a price issue with this company, specifically with Vito the sales guy in which I was quoted a lower monthly fee for all my Enercare services VS what the actual monthly bill came to (which was higher). I was very upset to see what the actual fee was on my bill which was not what Vito had told me it would be total. The AC and Furnace installation was absolutely perfect and professional! Thankfully the sales manager, John, called me and emailed me to resolve the price issue and was very professional throughout the process which has now given me peace of mind, so thank you for that! If anyone decides to hire this company for HVAC installation, please ensure you get the price the salesperson gives you in writing is my advice as this was the only complaint I had with this company which has now been resolved!

Exceptional service

I booked the yearly service and inspection on line and chose a time that was convenient for me. The technician at Enercare provided exceptional professional service. He arrived on time, clearly explained the process, the findings of the service , and arranged to quickly replace the motor on my furnace. He stayed to ensure the furnace was operating efficiently and explained everything to me. The site was left clean!

There was no cost because I have their service plan.

I highly recommend this technician and Enercare.

New 50 gallon tank water heater

Replaced 16 year old rental water heater with new rental. Install technician scratched the hardwood floor in several places with the dolly bottom and smeared the carpet with black rubber residue from the dolly tires in other places. When the installation was finished and the water was turned back on, one of the pipe joints was leaking and it took an additional 20 minutes to drain the system and repair it.
