Hello Mr. Lewis, in regards to the shingle blow off package that you purchased, this was an emergency service that we offered to you after you called us for a repair. Each repair call that we received during the windstorm was offered either an emergency service fee or a regular 5-7 day turnaround fee. We stipulate over the phone that we require a 100% deposit and that we do not do quotes for repair work. We also clearly state that our blow off package covers the replacement of from 1-21 shingles, whether you need 1 or 21 shingles replaced. It's unfortunate that you are unhappy with the cost, it's very important to us that our customers are happy. However, we were very honest with you regarding the services and prices that we offer before you had agreed to go through with the repair.

The package that you are talking about here was an emergency service we were selling to cover the severe damage caused by the windstorm a couple weeks back. We do an inspection of the roof to see what tiles have completely come off and to secure any shingles that look like they are susceptible to blowing off. In your case, only 2 shingles had completely blown off and we replaced them. It would not be a good practice for us to start removing secure shingles just to replace them. It's also important to note that you paid for our emergency service, which as you stated and we executed, has a one day turnaround. With the emergency service we come out the very next day in order to prevent further damage and repair costs, but this does not allow us time to order the exact same shingle as your roof. If you had wanted us to order and replace the roof with the exact same shingle, you could have opted for our regular 5-7 day turnaround blow off package which we were offering for around half the price. We can not come out for free to replace more shingles 12 days later because we did not do the original work, we were simply repairing work done by another contractor. At only seven years old, you are probably correct that your roof does not need a full replacement, however, we were only doing the repair that you had called us for.

Unfortunately, the severe wind storm caused a lot of problems for many citizens in Hamilton. Although it is not an excuse, we completed over 200 leak and shingle blow off repairs in the last week and we definitely failed to provide the customer service that you deserved as a paying customer. We take 100% responsibility for our failure to complete the repair as promised when we arrived at your house. With the sudden onslaught of snow we've experienced, it is too dangerous to go up on the roof, but I can assure you that as soon as we are able to, we will be out to repair the roof.
