ReImagine Builders did a fantastic job finishing our basement. This was one of our first experiences doing major home renovations and we were a bit nervous about the process. We met with three general contractors - the first was the most expensive and impersonal, the second was a sole contractor who quoted the lowest price but the longest timeline and would require us to be heavily involved in obtaining permits and other tasks, and then we met with ReImagine Builders.

Our initial impression of the company was great - responsive to emails, personable staff, and the owner Bo came up with the design plan on the first site visit and clearly itemized the additions we agreed on that increased the basic price. The pricing was very reasonable and right in between the two quotes we had received. Within two weeks, they were ready to get started on the project.

Over the course of the project we met the core ReImagine team in person - Bo, Peggy, and Josh - and they were all very friendly and professional. We were provided an overview of the schedule of the project and ReImagine met every deadline and was on schedule the entire project! We also came in on the budget that ReImagine quoted us. It is a relief to have our basement finished with an extra bedroom and bathroom and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

We wanted to develop our basement and came across ReImagine Builders on Google reviews and decided to give them a try based on tremendous good reviews they had. They offered different packages for different budgets and a 5 year warranty to all their material and trades. So, we called in and spoke with Bo who came the following day for an on site quote. He provided suggestions based on our needs and budget and we went with pretty much everything he suggested. They were able to fit us in their schedule earlier than anticipated which worked in our favour since we wanted the project to be done asap. Bo was very professional, he listened to our needs and showed us how much potential there was in the project. We dealt with Josh the project manager, Peggy and Kloe for the rest of the project. They were all attentive to our concerns. Peggy and Kloe are a delight to deal with. They were easy to keep in touch either by text message or by email. Josh was flexible with us as well. He was very knowledgeable and had an answer to all our questions. They were flexible to any change we requested. The whole building project was a bliss. Their trades were competent, professional, polite. We were indicated stores where we made our choices for flooring, cabinets, tiles, etc. The stores had all varieties of material and a wide range of options. We were able to complete the project within budget and on time. We would definitely recommend ReImagine Builders to our family and friends. Excellent service throughout and great finished basement. They went above and beyond to correct any errors and were very responsive.

The finishes were of a high quality in the standard package. Was a little more expensive then other quotes but well worth paying the extra.

Prior to Covid I received three quotes from three different companies to develop our basement. Bo from Reimagine was by far the most reasonably priced and easiest to deal with. A few months later after the curve started to flatten we decided to go ahead with the development and they honoured the original pricing no prob. Peggy, Bo's assistant and project manager, emailed me the schedule and things started within days! Took a bit of leg work on my part to hit a few suppliers to pick out my selections, but every supplier I saw had only great things to say about the Reimagine team (plus I knew my quote was a good price when I wasn't paying for the company's overhead of a flashy show room like some other developers). Every contractor who entered my home was courteous and careful. The project was quoted at 8 weeks, finished on time and was on budget too! Their basement package included everything we needed, but we did upgrade a few items all for reasonable prices. Towards the end there were a couple deficiencies noted and they were completed the next day! Can’t say enough great things about this company. If you’re considering a reno or development, look no further than Reimagine Builders!

We hired Reimagine Builders to finish our basement and the work was completed about 3 years ago now, I'm finally getting around to a review based partly on recent events so please read to the end if you care to.

The initial consultations with Bo were very good hence we decided to go with them to finish our basement, nothing lavish, 650 sq ft, 1 bedroom , an office and a bathroom. We also did our own electrical (my father is an electrician) so I can't speak on that front in terms of quality of work or experience possessed.

We decided to have the basement insulated to help with sound transfer and it didn't seem like they really knew what to do, I say this since the cold air returns were insulated and I had to remove that and tell them not to do it again (when I checked the night before drywall was going up).

The plumber and tile guys were good, though about 2 years after the basement was complete the toilet started leaking (bad seal) and we had to get that fixed, never occurred to me to file a warranty claim on the work so we paid that out of pocket.

The painters were absolutely horrible, Bo even made a comment that he had been having issues with them; resulting in Bo and Josh having to come and paint some of the basement after I'm assuming the painters refused to come back for a 3rd time. The material they used was horrible (later confirmed by another painter we've had come in) and it flashed horribly. I really hope they're not still using the same painters.

Just last week one of the air diffusers in the ceiling fell down, they had been screwed in to the drywall (no plugs, just straight up screwed in) and I'm actually happy the one fell down as I go to looking and they had used a 4 inch diffuser vent for a 5 inch duct ... so I went and checked the other 3 vents and 2 of them had the same problem. So for the past 3 years I've been heating and cooling the basement ceiling (when the vents are closed as they typically are in our basement). This took $55 in parts (the right parts) and 30 minutes to correct, why on earth they couldn't be bothered to do it right the first time is beyond me and honestly the reason I'm finally writing a review. During the renovation I came down lots to check things out (see comment about insulating the cold air returns) and I never thought to bother with something so seemingly simple so that's my bad I guess.

Overall I don't have anything truly bad to say about my experience, it was in some respects what I expect in this city. The trades were nice (minus the painters) as were Bo (mostly) and Josh but it seems nobody cares much for the quality of their work and I found myself basically having to do what I hired Bo to do; or at least one of the jobs I expected him to do. Fair play to Bo this was around the time he was having a child so I get that he was busy doing other stuff, but given that we hired him for the work someone from that side of things should have been doing the quality control I found myself having to do. So I guess my bottom line is that I wouldn't necessarily avoid this company, but I would very much want to educate myself on what should be happening and how things should be done then verify it gets done that way.

We chose ReImagine based on their excellent reviews, and after also receiving quotes from two competitors. Bo had terrific suggestions to improve our plan, and Peggy and Josh were a pleasure to deal with and always responded quickly to any questions we had. Any bumps along the way were quickly resolved to our satisfaction, and work was completed on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the results, and would happily recommend ReImagine to others.

I engaged Reimagine Basements last January to have my basement renovated. The team professional and I was pleased with the work. They were effective a communicating the plan throughout the process and very responsive to feedback. All in all, I was pleased with the results.

These guys were great, right from the top down. We are really happy with our basement development. They did an excellent job but more than that, everyone in the company is super responsive, good communicators and really organized. Peggy in the office runs a super tight ship - our job was finished exactly the day they promised. All in all it was an excellent experience. You will not regret going with this company. We couldn't have had a better experience and are really happy with the results.

Very happy with my basement. Their team was really nice to work with, and finished the job in quite a tight schedule (under my request). They sold me a basic package, but were flexible enough to accommodate some of my "special" requests - as long as these didn't impact the budget or the schedule, of course. Advised me on a number of things, changed some details here and there based on my needs, always keeping everything code-compliant. The materials included in the basic package are pretty good to my taste. Excellent experience for me.
