Aquata Bathroom Renovations

Our basement flooded over the summer, due to heavy rain fall. The water came in through our newly renovated bathroom and we got flooded. Unfortunately when we called our contractor who did the work, he did not respond. I contacted Peter, who made time to come the same day. Peter quickly identified that the leak was coming from under the toilet. Peter removed the toilet and advised it needed to dry for at least 2 days so that he could properly repair the issue. He came back as promised repaired the leak and we haven't had any issues since.

Peter and Nick did a major renovation on our main bathroom in late spring this year. We were very pleased with the quality of Peter and Nick's work. My husband,who is an architect was impressed with their attention to detail, in particular with the installation of tiles and grouting work. We would definitely hire Aquata again.

The renovation included replacing all the walls and floor, replacing the large jacuzzi bathtub with a walk-in shower and relocating the toilet to make better use of the space. Peter came by a few times ahead of the job to inspect the joists to determine whether moving the toilet was feasible and how to do it in order to minimize any surprises later on.

Peter helped to make our bathroom safer by installing several grab bars. He also installed two recessed cabinets which significantly increased the space in our bathroom.

While the job was being done, all the tools were kept at the house and the job was done over a few weeks with no real interruptions. The bathroom was well screened off from the rest of the house so there was no dust and at the end of the day all areas were thoroughly cleaned.

This review is long overdue, but even a year later, we are still so pleased with our bathroom renovation and we still receive compliments on the impeccable work. Peter and his team were extremely professional from start to finish. Peter came in for a consult and provided us with fabulous design ideas as well as realistic expectations for the project. When the project started, the work did not disrupt to the rest of the house. They took time to prep the space and surrounding area, and cleaned up before they left each day. I hired Aquata to replace my old, basic toilet with a new bidet toilet. The job involved some complicated factors, including installing a new breaker and figuring out the best way to install a new line from my basement to the second floor. I am impressed with how Peter solved the problems that the structure of my house presented so that the installation went very smoothly. He did a great job! When he finished the exterior part of the job, Peter asked us to have a look and make sure that we were satisfied, and was more than happy to answer any questions that we had.

Peter and his assistant were very clean and careful by covering the workspace and putting protective barriers down. They even took care of disposing any garbage, and the old toilet so that I didnt have to deal with it. They were professionals in every sense.

As well as the toilet, I also needed to replace my bathroom door, or thought I did, until Peter helped me save money by fixing the old door. It looks as good as new, and I would have never guessed it was the same door. I am grateful that he had my best interests in mind and thought of how to help me save money.

We called Peter about a very slow leak that had started from a corner of our bathtub that he had renovated four-and-a-half years ago. (It's from a top corner of the bathtub near where the shower stall glass is mounted) The leak had actually appeared a couple of years ago and Peter had come back to try to find the source and fix it. But it was a mystery as to where it was coming from. He repaired the minor damage to the wall next to the tub and it took another year or so for evidence of the leak to reappear. He came again to have a look and did a minor repair to a piece of plumbing that he suspected might be the issue but left the damaged part of the wall unrepaired so that we could see if the leak was still happening. We thought we still saw signs of the leak so he came back again with all of his tools and his assistant, ready to do whatever needed to be done to fix the leak. He took apart as much of the fixtures as he could without damaging the shower stall tiles (although he was willing to remove any if it was necessary -- we had enough leftover tiles and grout to fix them). Multiple tests were run and it seemed that the leak had actually stopped! He had been able to gain access to all the pipes to investigate and no sign of a leak was evident nor was there any sign of damage (not even any staining) behind the shower wall or around its plumbing. So either the mystery leak stopped or he had been able to fix it on his previous visit after all. The point of this long post is to say that even nearly half-a-decade after his work here was complete, he was willing to come and fix part of it for us and didn't charge us a thing! And he was as friendly, thorough, communicative and diligent about it as he was when he did the initial job. He truly cares about his clients and the work that he does and doesn't just disappear once his work is done. He even said that if the mystery leak reappeared, he'd come back again and do whatever else it might take to find it and fix it. While we remain hopeful that it has in fact stopped, we have been very happy in all of our dealings with Peter and in the work that he has done for us. I would definitely recommend his company for a bathroom renovation.

Our bathroom fan stopped functioning shortly just before Christmas and we desperately needed to replace it since we were hosting the multiday family holiday festivities this year.

We ultimately found and hired Peter since he was the only one able to schedule us in the day before our guests were going to show up. Peter recommended a fan that is slightly larger and quieter fan compared to the original one.
Once he arrived, we quickly found out that that he's not like the other contractors you would typically hire. His tools are all meticulously organized, resulting him to be being able to set-up, change out the fan, and, clean up without ever leaving the work area.
