Service Agreement regarding energy delivery and su

I transfered the contract from my previous home to my current home--I thought!! I've sent Direct Energy numerous emails, made numerous phone calls, and even faxed the company my bills from the existing contract, ever since before November 2006, and yet I've never heard back from them and they claim that they don't have my account number. I'm frustrated and I don't wish to change my existing contract to the current rates, which happen to be almost 100% more expensive--but in the meantime I'm forced to pay the going rate as they continue to ignore my attempts to correct my billing.

Furnace & Air Conditioning Service

I had a water build-up in a fan area and at first they weren't able to find the right solutiuon. But they made an effort to solve the problem to my satisfaction. The sales staff was responsive and very plesant to deal with. I will surely keep my service.

Maintenance Package

I scheduled a furnace cleaning in Oct. and since then they've called me at least twice to re-schedule but it's already been done! They obviously haven't updated their database. I made sure to change my contact information but still I am bothered via the telephone at home. I am not really impressed at their prices either!

Siding

This job of siding took a long, long time to start. The wrong siding was put on. The work was incomplete and they had to come back many times (3). They tried to only side the side of the house. When there was a problem I found that you as a customer have no contact at all except with the telephone operator and the interest on their loans is huge. Fuming sider.

Window replacement

Great products but required several phone calls to get project going. Installer did a very good job, took away all old material and debris, explained functions of windows, warranty was very good. Windows are energy effecient and look wonderful. Highly recommend.

Home heating protection plan

I inherited a Direct Energy annual home heating repair/maintenance contract for from the previous owner when I bought my house. At first it seemed great. Then I tried to schedule the included free cleaning. The customer service representative spent about 30 minutes typing in one date at a time to find out when the first available free date was, because, apparently that customer service representative did not know how to use the 'search' function in his appointment booking software. Later in the winter, I called for service on what I believed was a faulty circ pump (low frequency resonance in the pipes causing light fixtures to rattle audibly and cracking the plaster all over the house). The repairman denied there was any problem and refused to do any work, on the pump or anything else. Finally, my yearly premium for this service jumped by $40 without any prior notice, and that's when I found out about the unpublished cutoff date for opting out of automatic renewal as well. Well, I managed to talk my way out of next year's contract and now I'm searching this website to look for a replacement contractor for home heating service. Imagine my surprise when I saw the above reviews for Direct Energy.

Direct Energy Nightmare

Direct Energy Essential Home Services has been a complete nightmare for us. From hot water tank replacement (which took over three weeks and 5 different technicians with 10 explanations), incorrect billing on almost every bill, and unbelievably poor service. We would never recommend any of their "services". Customer service from this company is an oxymoron. We have complained via email, phone and in letter format to no avail. Hands down this is one of the worst experiences we have had from a company since becoming homeowners.
