Came in to fix the same problem with the fridge 3 times. Did not even quoted the price first time I called them. Bad customer service. Unreasonably expensive and unprofessional.
I wish I had of read your articles before calling this company, the technician was just here and I got dinged for $299 without a repair!! I agreed to the fee as I thought it was to repair my dishwasher not assess it, that's what the $80 was for!
The technician (Matt) said it would be another $200+ for the part and labour on top of that.
While he was looking for the part cost online I found similar part costs ranging from $15 to $40 for the faulty part.
I replied, over $500 to fix this, are you crazy!? No answer just a stare.
Where is the work ethics today? I paid him and will call the company in the am. I tried to call them this eve but there is not answer despite their claim to be a 24hr service.
I am a savvy guy but in a moment of just fix it weakness I got burned, I should know better but I erred in my judgement.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Repair the problem with an honest estimate and don't mislead people.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Do NOT cal The Appliance Repair Guys, bad bad bad!
I should have read the reviews of these people before bringing them in to fix my leaky dishwasher. They got $300 from me before I kicked them out with the dishwasher worse than when they arrived. Their initial diagnosis (leaky supply line) was wrong, and they kept quoting more and more money. When I opened the dishwasher up, it was completely obvious they were working on the wrong part. Water was flowing from the inlet valve, 2 inches from the supply line. I replaced the inlet valve myself after having to pay them $300.00 for re-taping the supply line, leaving the dishwasher worse than when they started. I contacted their customer service, and they were insulting and unhelpful.
The repairman to come out fairly quickly. After 20 minutes, he decided that the hose was not attatched. To save me money, he suggested that my husband could pick up a new hose to install it. Sounds reasonable, right??? Wrong!! This tidbit of information cost me $320. If this does not work, he said, it is probably the panel and he could come back a put a new one in. Dryer did not work, so I called to have him come back. They want another $297 to come back, PLUS the price of the panel. to fix my dryer. I could have purchased a NEW dryer for total price. They would only contact me through e-mail, would not return my phone calls. Eventually gave up. NOT IMPRESSED and would NEVER recommend them to anybody!!!!
Do not use these bozos . I should have read Home Stars before calling them as I have experienced the same as what many have said . The temperature of my upright freezer was -2 C before the repair and the repairman tells me that the problem is a simple drain plug that needs to be removed . He guarantees me that everything else is fine and that the cost is $280.00 for the service call and that my freezer will be good for the next 15 years . The temperature climbed to +8C after he left and never dropped even 4 days later . Someone should put a stop to this business .Disgusting .
