Appliance Repairman

Same story as others here. Technician came promptly, dismantled stove, charged 350.00, says it needs parts and here I sit a week later after several phone calls with no stove to use and no parts on the horizon. "They are having trouble sourcing the parts". It's a 9 year old stove. Can that be so difficult for an appliance repair place? Don't use them.

Worst customer service ever! Total rip off!! They called one hour before to say that finally they can't come on time. Then, finally they arrive before the planned time and charge you $90 if you are not there despite them changing it at last minute. Anyways, I paid $90 for nothing and called another company.

After 8 weeks of technican coming and ordering the part, multiple phone calls and no working dishwasher, the part finally arrives. The tech said we could just replace the broken part, turns out, he ordered the wrong model part. After calling they said they have no return policy, their tech ordered the part!!! Ridiculous, rude $250, 8 weeks and I called another company that fixed in 3 days!

Please stay clear of this company, total ripoff. So, I had a minor electrical problem with my washing machine, but it was still working. Just to ensure that it is still safe to continue using (i.e. no fire/electric hazard) I contacted this company. Very prompt first response over phone, a technician visit was scheduled the very next day. I was told it will cost $80 for the service call and rest depending on the investigation by the technician.
So Mr technician arrive the next day, a very polite person. Looked at the machine for 5 min, and told me that in order to do further check-up he needs to open the panel, and the cost for that is $280 dollars!! I asked what is $280 dollars for, he says "Full Service'. I had no option but to say yes, becuase else I would have paid $80 dollars just for the person to show-up my door!! So i say yes. Person opens the panel and observes for about 40 min, and tells me nothing wrong, there are some old parts which can to be replaced (for which the company will provide a separate quote). And that's it... my $280 vanished into thin air, and i had a 4x6' piece of white paper (receipt) with a few words scribbled on it.
So, be clear, a the visit by a technician from this company will put you back by at least $280 for sure plus whatever the (inflated) cost of parts would be, whether something is resolved or not.

You call and they are there within the hour. fantastic. Ding you for $80 just to show up. to diagnose problem/service call $280 plus tax. Service guy was there an hour only.
Washer not fixed and the part is $600. Really!!! I can buy a new washer for that amount.
They really get you!!!!! He could have told me to forget it.
They know the issues that come up and the costs!!!! unbelieveable

Avoid this company!! They had to come to my house three times to fix a dishwasher that was not working. They spent four hours trying to diagnose the problem and charged me $300 for the time. On their last visist, they I needed a new controller board and it would cost $400 plus labor to install and were 70 percent sure it would fix the problem. I wasn't about to put $700 into an old dishwasher so I bought a new one. When the technician from the new company I called came onsite he looked quickly at my old dishwasher and said he could get it going with a $20 part from his van. He got the part, took 5 minutes to install and my old washer was working again and I got to return my new washer. This company is a joke! I called to get a refund as they did nothing and charged me $300. They outright refused any kind of compensation for the two weeks of aggravation I went through for a $20 part and 10 minute labour from a real tech!. they are overpriced and have no experience. do yourself a favor and avoid this company!!!!

The Appliance Repair Guy technician told me he wave the fee of $80 dollars if he fixed my machine. He looked at my machine and said it would need a part to be fixed. He told me it would be $280 for the labor and that he be back to fix the machine when the part was in. He said there would be no additional labor charge, only the charge of the part. The part cost $46.53 online. When I called them back for the quote of the part, I was told it would cost an additional $260. They are very dishonest. Stay away from them.

Same story (read other reviews). $80 call out fee for dryer that had no heat. Quoted $280 before it was even diagnosed. I had someone at the house and they were basically bullied into approving it (not their fault) -- new element so another $90 for the part. Total $425. We were going to get the fridge looked at as well however it was going to be another $280 (again, quoted before he even looked at it) then no doubt plus parts.
Oh yes, they missed their 9 - 12 window by 1/2 hour.
Phoned their Customer Service line -- anyone reading this, don't waste your time.
Don't just take the words on this board as the truth -- Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star wrote an article on them and their deceiving tactics. The BBB has them with either a D- or F rating and the complaints are endless.

Rated F on Better Business Bureau- over a hundred unresolved complaints - This company should be out of business. They are ripping people off, the customer service is unsupportive and rude. My dishwasher is still broken, I've paid $280 to learn that the part I need to fix the dishwasher is another $600. The dishwasher is only 3 yrs old and worth $800. The cost to repair, I could buy a new one.
Do not call this company!

Stupidly, I didn't check homestars first. That should say it all!!! They charge $80 to show up, and tell you that indeed there is a problem, but then they wave that and charge $280 to actually diagnose the problem ... At least be honest with the $80. Its a charge to step into your house, and only that!!! They don't have the courage to publish "real" customer reviews on their website.
