AFG Heating and Cooling

I called Rafi after encountering furnace spaghetti junction with fitting a new ecobee thremostat. He got back to me quickly, and was very communicative before coming out. I wasn't left waiting and was in no doubt when he'd turn up.

Am very glad I called him because not only did he discover and fix a potentially dangerous gas leak, he also replaced some dodgy fuse work and connected up the thermostat neatly and professionally. All the time he was friendly and happy to offer advice.

All of this was done for the initial callout charge.

I was searching online for a reliable and service-friendly HVAC company to service our furnace for an annual tune-up. Came across AFG Heating & Cooling Services @Homestars.

With our previous HVAC company, we had good relations with them, but they seemed to disappear, no where to be found, phone lines down etc. So I guess (and know now) they're time was up.

Called AFG to help out, Rafi answered the phone and assured me I called the right people and won't be disappointed. A family owned and operated business. Great, let's do it. Rafi came down as promised ready to get to work, well mannered and politely asked if he should remove his shoes. That's a plus, it shows me he respects your home. Next, he explained what he was doing in detail and welcomed me to stay while he worked. My head spinned, he really knows his stuff. As he finished, we had espresso (fyi: he drinks tea) and cake together, he seemed to enjoy it while posting photos of this to Snap Chat. Funny.

Anyhow, I was taken on how he really came through, a professional at his trade and just an honest family man. Looks like I can rely on AFG Heating for future services as they arise. Will be using them for our spring AC tune-up for sure, very pleased.

I have some properties with a variety of heating and air conditioning needs. For heating I have both forced air and hot water rads.

Up until recently I've used a different company for each property. I had a poor experience with one company I was using, and that led me to try AFG heating. Now I have AFG heating doing all my properties!

I delayed writing a review for AFG heating to ensure that their service level remained at a very high level. I think it has been about 2 years since I switched to AFG heating for my rental properties, and this year I have had AFG come to my house. I wish I used them to look at the heating and A/C before I bought my house. I have had both Rafi and Fasi address repair issues, and to do yearly maintenance. They have also installed a new Boiler for my property that has hot water rads. So far they have been able to address all of my needs. They even know how to service pool heaters. This is great, because in one visit the same company can look at my pool heater, and the A/C and Furnace in my house.

Rafi resolved several issues I was having at my rental properties. I had taken the same issues to a few different HVAC companies, but ultimately it was Rafi who was able to solve some heat distribution issues with the hot water rads.

They seem very knowledgeable and fair. If you are looking for somebody new I recommend AFG!

The water hose connecting to the humidifier on my furnace cracked a couple of nights ago, spraying water all over my furnace room and soaking my furnace and water heater. Needless to say I was more than a little worried about the potential damage. Rafi was amazing... not only did he take care of the problem and confirm that all was well with my appliances, he was friendly, professional and courteous! A real joy to work with! I plan on using him again shortly for further furnace and AC maintenance. Highly recommended.

One of our A/C units died this spring. I called AFG to come out and access the situation. I've used them before. We discussed our options and they ordered and installed the best unit for the situation. They installed the unit expertly and quickly.
Later this summer our other unit died. AFG to the rescue.
In the past I also used them to inspect our furnace and solve a problem we had with it. If you have a heating or A/C problem. Call them. Great service, excellent pricing, valuable advice and recommendations.

My air conditioner was not working on one of the hottest days this summer. I called one of the local repair company's. They pumped 2 pound of refrigerant and charged me $350. It broke down again 3 days after being repaired. When I tried calling the them, I was told that it would take 4 days for a technician to show up and solution the problem. I called Rafi and requested him to have a look at the issue. He had a commercial project in the east end of the city and after he was done for the day, he drove all the way to the west end to check my AC. He explained to me that the equipment was more than 15 years old, the refrigerant had leaked, and there were pin holes in the coils causing the leakage. He also added that even though he would fix the leak, there was no guarantee that the coils would not spring more pin holes due to aging. His suggestion was to install a new AC that was more efficient. It would cost me more, but over the long run I wouldn't have to pay for constant repair's and save on electricity consumption. I agreed and Rafi came the next morning (which was a weekend) to install the new AC. I have no hesitation in recommending Rafi to friends and family
