Doesn’t stand by their work. Not respectful of privacy and, as a single woman, very uncomfortable with worker

My AC was making a VERY loud noise when started this year....was installed more than 5 years ago by this company and this had not been an issue before. The owner did not come, it was the man that works for them. He told me that the AC was installed incorrectly.....attached to the house instead of on a cement pad and that is why it was so loud. I told him it was installed by their company (the owner) and that he had recommended to do it that way (the old one was on a cement pad) and it cost me extra to have it done. He did not make any response to this or address this in any way.
He said he serviced the AC and placed 4 dampers on the outside to see if that helped and changed the filter. He literally wandered around my house for more than an hour. He disappeared and I had no idea where he went and then he would reappear. He asked me multiple personal questions that had nothing to do with why he was there, and I was made to feel very uncomfortable. I am a single parent and live alone with my children. I did jot have a good feeling while he was there.
He presented me with the bill which I thought was high for what was done but offered to pay with my VISA card. He said they didn’t accept credit cards and I could contact the owner’s wife for payment.
By the next day there was water in the floor of my basement in the room with the AC. I wanted to speak with the owner’s wife about my bill, the leak which stated immediately after their worker was in and I wanted to notify her of my experience with her worker because I feel she needed to be aware of st least what my experience had been.
I didn’t want to leave any of this in a message and it took a while for us to connect. It was probably a few weeks. When I called her she was quite abrupt initially and aggressive (at the time I had no idea that she had apparently left me a message threatening to take me to court to pay the bill....that I had offered to pay the day of the service with my credit card!).....but I told her if the issues regarding the service call....the overall cost....which I told her I had no problem paying but that the AC had immediately started to leak by the next day and I felt that they needed to come back out and have a look at it....and my concerns as a single female living alone with the behaviour of their worker.
In the end I felt pretty good about the call. I had thought that she had listened to me and understood where I was coming from. I told her I did not want their worker to be sent out to my house ever again....and I specifically asked that he not be told about my concerns because of privacy and safety reasons. She told me she would have her husband out the following week to take a look at the leak.
I was quite disappointed because, despite paying her for a call that led to a leaking AC and a very uncomfortable visit for me, I have never heard from them again. They still haven’t been out to look at the AC they installed and serviced the day before it began to leak, and I have not heard from them or received a call back.
This is bad enough, but the discomfort I experienced with the invasive questioning by their hired man and his actions the day of the service, is the real reason I am writing this review. Hopefully I am the only one to experience this or will ever experience this....as the owner’s wife stated....however my experience was real and I felt I needed to pass it on to the owner and ensure that it was out in a public forum as an added safety measure.

Furnace Not Working

I woke up this morning to a very cold house. It's Saturday so I wasn't sure who would be able to do a service call. I left a message for Uxbridge Heating and Cooling and Glenn called me back in about an hour. Glenn fit me in that day and arrived on time. I was dreading the diagnosis because the furnace is getting older (13 years). Glenn performed a comprehensive service on the furnace - it certainly needed it as I can't remember the last time I had it serviced. It was back working and cost under $200. I'm toasty warm again. Glenn was very knowledgeable and a really nice person. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Highly recommended.

Fixed my AC unit and saved a ton of money

Glenn came by in short order and fixed my AC unit which was on the fritz. The thing I love about this company is how honest they are: He suggested that the AC unit could last up to another 10 years and a new unit wouldnt save all that much money. $250 instead $2500+!
They had also installed a new furnace a few years back so I knew they were the first one to call.

A/C & Air Cleaner installation

My husband and I just moved into a newly constructed home and the hot weather hit with a vengeance. We were suffering and miserable from the heat. Our friends recommended we call Uxbridge Heating & Cooling as they have always been very happy with their service. We called and Burt (the owner) responded quickly and came to see us the very same evening! Burt is honest, hard working, knowledgeable and passionate about looking after his customers. Within a few days (even though it was the peak of busy AC season) Burt returned to install an AC and air Cleaner system in our home. We couldn't be happier or more pleased. He went above and beyond the call of duty. The quality of the job and the services he provided were second to none! We highly recommend you call Burt of Uxbridge Heating for your heating and cooling needs.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning

I have used this company a number of times for furnace and fireplace repairs. The service technician is always on time, clearly explains the nature of the problem and resolves the issue quickly. The service is reliable, reasonable, and they stand behind their work. Recently, I really appreciated getting information from Glen on a faulty fireplace switch that we were able to resolve ourselves at very little cost. I highly recommend Uxbridge Heating & Cooling to anyone needing this type of service!
