Smith Metal Works and Tarek were great to work with. I had an unusual design in mind for the railings and handrail of my front porch, and Tarek took the time to come round to my house on a Sunday, discuss the design and point out some aspects that I hadn't thought of. He had a large inventory of photos of past jobs, which was very helpful in settling on a final design. The final product was delivered on time, and the workmanship is impeccable. This is a very professional company that goes the extra mile to give customers a great product and excellent service. Thank you Tarek!

We needed a new railing in our newly renovated stairs.

We needed a railing for our flagstone stairs and for one side of our porch. We decided to use Smith Metal Works after reading the reviews on Homestars and looking at the gallery of their work on their website. Tarek was very professional, responsible and reliable. He quickly understood the look that we were hoping for and was able to show me photos from his existing work. The process was seamless and on time - he was one of the most reliable tradespeople we have every worked with. We are thrilled with our railing - it is exactly what we were hoping for.

My wife has become handicapped recently and has difficulty with the stairs. We needed to install a second set of railings on two flights of stairs to assist her climb. We went to Home Stars and selected three companies and asked them to visit and provide a quote.
One company phoned several days later to make an appointment and one called a week later. They were both pleasant, took measurements, left after 15 minutes and called the next day with a quote. The third company, Smith Metal Works, called the same day and asked if they could come over that day. The caller was a fellow named Terek who arrived, surveyed the stairs and walls and asked several questions including about matching the existing railings and worked out a quote on the spot. Terek is an engaging young man who stayed for over an hour discussing business, life, his girl friend, etc. I not only was impressed by the work process and his knowledge but also with his friendly, comfortable manner.
Terek came back several times to confirm where he was going to mount the railings which were fabricated at their Metal Works. The initial schedule was followed exactly and the entire project was finished on time, with no mess and well co-ordinated with the existing railings which made my wife very happy. The quality was excellent.
My wife and I were very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend Terek and his company.

After searching various companies and getting a few quotes, Smith Metal Works was the best choice for a security gate and stair rail. When I first called, a date was immediately arranged for a site visit. Tarek came on time and when i showed him the design i found on a different company website, he was surprised and said it was his creation! He showed me a huge inventory of designs, gave a very fair quote, and I hired him. Gradually I learned Tarek is the company owner and doesn't just give quotes, he follows through with you until completion. Rare these days. That might have been why i got above average customer service. In fact, tarek is professional, very knowledgable, and cares about his reputation. The end product is better than the pictures. Very strong. Perfect. Smith Metal Works should absolutely be at the top of the Homestars list (and this opinion has nothing to do with my last name...smith).

One of the most humble team i have come across. these guys are the real deal. They bring your imagination to life. I was astonished to see how creative their work was. They never disappoint you. Tarek came to my home the day I called and gave an estimate. From then on he was professional and punctual. He completed the entire project in 4 weeks! This is 2-4 weeks quicker than the other companies I looked into. The railings look great and complete the look of our front steps!
