Humber Valley Landscaping

In the late spring of 2020 I contracted Humber Valley Landscaping owned and operated by Chris Ray to do exterior landscaping for my newly purchased home in Markham Village. The home had an old paved driveway with significant drainage problems and very basic landscaping in the front and back. The team proposed a great landscaping plan to improve the water drainage, upgrade the driveway and backyard patio stones and also add shrubs, trees and plants to beautify the existing property. We worked through some revisions and settled on a detailed plan for a total landscaping revision of the property. This work started in July 2020 and despite the extensive nature of the work, the team was able to complete the job on schedule in about 3 weeks which was very impressive. The team and subcontractors were always on time and professional with excellent attention to keeping the job site clean and minimizing disruption for the neighbours. The final project was nothing short of outstanding with a fully redone driveway, walkway and backyard patio region laid with high quality stones expertly placed. Great attention was paid to details around windows and reconfiguring the drainage to prevent pooling of water and ice build up in the winter. The trees and shrubs selected added greatly to the aesthetics of the property. I was very impressed with the ability of the Humber Valley team to complete the job in a relatively short period of time and also delivery exceptionally high quality on the finished project. I get regular complements from my neighbours about the high quality of the landscaping and stonework work done. I feel the value added to my home by this landscaping work exceeded the cost paid for the project. I can whole heartedly recommend Humber Valley Landscaping for home-based landscaping projects.

Chris and team are fantastic. We had a mud pit everywhere around our house following our house reno. Humber Valley completely transformed the backyard, the driveway and the front. They paid great attention to detail and make sure everything was done properly. They were accommodating of the changes we made along the way and they were just a joy to work with. We would hire them again for any landscaping needs. Oh and, by the way, Chris is very hands on which is important to us. My project involved updating my backyard to accommodate a new hot tub. Chris and his team transformed my backyard into a oasis. Chris came up with a design that was within my budget and maximized the space of my backyard. We hired Chris and his team almost 4 years ago to do the front and backyard of our newly built home. Over the years we have had a few areas where stones have settled, and the poly sand has washed out. Humber Valley came back twice to fix things up and things are looking good.

Two years ago we hired Chris and his team to fully gut, design and redo our front entrance and drive way. The end result was exactly what we had envisioned and we have been happy with their work ever since. However, a few weeks ago, when the weather warmed up we had a little issue with sinking/settling of the interlock at our front steps. This was creating a bit of a hazard. I contacted Chris and within a few days they had answered me, settled on a good time to come by and sent someone to fix the problem. We are delighted with the response time and quality of the safer sales support. This is not something that is immediately evident when selecting a contractor but certainly becomes important after the work is done. So I thought it was worthwhile sharing our experience.

Chris and his team were great to work with for our backyard landscaping project in Stouffville! They were always quick to respond and they had great ideas and advice. Chris even took the time to look through our many ideas on Pinterest to ensure the project turned out just as we imagined. He met with us at supply yards to review materials beforehand so we knew exactly what we were getting. The work started and finished as expected and our backyard was transformed from a 'meh' space that we never really used to a perfect outdoor living area that we enjoyed everyday we could until it got too cold. Chris and his crew installed a 50; armour stone retaining wall in my backyard to help with an eroding slope on our property line. Not only was the price competitive, but they were also accommodating and professional. They completed the work in a timely manner, cleaned up, and ensured that I was completely satisfied with the installation.
