Rooter-Man responded to this call in a timely fashion. Our response to this complaint is as follows:
“WHEN HE FINALLY SHOWED UP, HE TOOK THE SPOUT OFF AND SAID IT LOOKED GOOD AND PUT IT BACK ON AND CHARGED ME $197.00”
This statement is incorrect. We went to the homeowner’s residence, took the spout off, told her it was broken, and went to the truck to get a new spout. We then informed the customer it was going to be $175 + HST to rectify the problem. The customer AGREED to the price; the plumber spent 30 to 40 minutes performing the job as the customer stood by his side and watched. The customer then paid the full amount, and when the plumber left there was no issue reported.
The next day, the customer called and demanded her money back because she didn’t receive a “Free Estimate” before the work began. There was no need for a Free Estimate, as the problem was identified and the price was provided and agreed upon prior to the work commencing.
The cost of the tub spout part was approximately $50.
“I CALLED THE COMPANY AND SPOKE TO THE OWNER BARRY…”
When she spoke to the owner, he explained repeatedly that it was not a Free Estimate because she went through with the work and we fixed her issue that the “Free Estimate” did not factor into the equation.
The customer made numerous THREATS to disparage the name of the company online, and the owner agreed to give her a full refund of $197.00. Upon accepting the refund, the owner told the customer never to call us again and that we do not want her business.
In conclusion, we gave her a full refund, completed the work to her satisfaction, provided a new part, and provided a licensed plumber to do the work. We do not understand what this customer is talking about, and it is clear that all she wants is FREE WORK done in her house.
