Insulating of Attic and Porch Overhang

We contacted Foam Comfort after having seen their trucks in our neighbourhood, and knowing they're a local business. Our attic insulation needed 'topping up', and we wanted to spray-foam insulate our porch overhang, in an attempt to reduce the heat loss from the second floor. The team at Foam Comfort is incredibly nice to work with and clearly have customer service top of mind. Dan provided extremely valuable advice when it came to opening up our porch overhang, which ultimately led to his team being able to do their job quickly and properly. They worked around our demanding schedule and were tidy and courteous all the way through. Our second floor is now holding heat better than it ever has before, and I suspect we'll see great results when the A/C is on in the summer. I'm very impressed with Foam Comfort, and would recommend them without hesitation.

Basement Reno

I'm renovating my basement and decided to go with SprayFoam. I did my research and found that the Walltite eco v3 was the one to go with. I sent Foam comfort and other and email request for a quote with my site details. Foam Comfort responded very quickly with a preliminary quote and we scheduled an onsite quotation. About a week after my onsite, I had them install. It took about 2.5 hours, which included the masking and post spray cleanup. On one wall I was using 2x2 studding, and they sprayed and scraped any overspray off perfectly. Drywall fits over the cavities perfectly. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. You have hit on a very valid point - expertise of sprayers. Experienced crews are able to handle 2x2 framing without any problems for the drywallers.

Insulating attic on my Beaches home

After having gone through an expensive renovation recently, I was pleasantly surprised with how little this insulation process cost -- about $900 for my entire attic to get an adequate R-value. And effective! We can feel the difference already. Install team was friendly, fast, efficient -- and clean!

$900.00

Thank you so much. We don't get as many reviews for blown insulation but it is a service we offer and it will save you $$ every month, whether heating or cooling your home.

Complete basement walls & headers

On time, On budget, More than you could ask for.
First off, my kudos go to Dane for her superhuman talents running the back office and keeping me in the loop and on my toes I might say in working with some odd timelines that I had.
I had Foam Comfort come in on 2 separate occasions/as I said my odd timelines, to spray foam my basement walls & headers.
The estimator that came out was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Heck, he even educated me on a couple of things as well.
The installers, what can I say, just DAMN GOOD. Amazing job spraying, proper thicknesses, more in some areas, taped and covered everything, cleaned the joists of overspray and after themselves.
Hell, they even stayed 1/2 hour later as I was stuck in traffic coming back and I had to pick up the kids before I returned home.
Not 1 complaint at all from them.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family-I already have and some are calling them as we speak and I know I will have an upcoming job that will dwarf this one in size.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS...

Basement and Wall Insulation

Foam comfort came and quoted out spray foam in the basement and airkrete in the main walls. Estimator was on time, helpful, and very friendly, and the crew that completed the work was excellent. They taped off all fixtures and finishes, cleaned up after they were done, and did a great job. Great experience, will definitely use them again.

Second floor reno

On time, on budget. Good job. I would hire them again. Jennifer Leavitt in the office did a great job communicating throughout. They did some extra work not agreed to in the contract and we deleted some work contracted. It all evened out cost wise. Very happy.

spray in place foam insulation

I wanted to use spray foam in my attic renovation & my contractor recommended Foam Comfort. They estimated and then installed in 1 week. The work was done in a morning. The results are excellent with only a minor spot or so missed however the crew were happy to spray some extra areas which weren't even in the quote. They did a good job masking and then cleaning up. Its not inexpensive but its a great product. I would recommend them.

$2,300.00

Basement Reno With Partial Spray Foam

I insulated most of the exterior walls in my renovated basement with Roxul Comfortbatt. However, there were some sections (e.g. rim joists/headers) where achieving the proper air seal would be next to impossible, and other areas where spray foam just made more sense.

After contacting a number of spray foam companies, I decided to go with Foam Comfort based on their experience, customer ratings, and their use of BASF Walltite spray foam. FC's estimate was not the lowest, but it was very competitive.

From the very beginning, I was pleased with FC's professionalism and responsiveness. Kudos to Diane for her excellent back office work and her fast-response customer service.

Through Diane, I was able to arrange an appointment for the job that met my schedule and needs. Even though I was the only job that day for this particular crew, they showed up about 20 minutes outside the stated time window. However, not a big deal since you need to be available pretty much all day for this type of job anyway.

Chris and Wil (the two-man dynamic duo from FC) were courteous, responsive, diligent, thorough, proactive, and just nice guys to boot. And they just did excellent work. These guys don't fool around. Once they were in my home, they got right down to work: consultation, prep, spray, trim, cleanup. It was all done expeditiously and the quality was excellent. They even made some smart suggestions on how a couple of things could be done better than I had originally specified, and there was no extra charge for the added work.

Just a couple of minor complaints:
1) When Dan (nice guy) came to quote on the job, he apparently did not recognize the difficulty of spraying the rim joist above my garage wall (very complicated area with ductwork, drop ceiling, cables, tight corners, etc.) It actually required some extra work on my part to prepare the cavities (I like to do as much myself as I can); and Chris and Wil could not reach a couple of cavities, so I will have to improvise something myself to seal these areas. Chris and Wil really did do their very best to make it work. I don't think anyone else could have done better. I just wish I would have been informed of the difficulty of spraying in that area so I could have made better preparations, or so that an alternative approach (such as using 1/2 pound foam, which expands more than the 2 pound foam used), could have been considered).

2) While Chris did an excellent job of removing the excess foam from the top plate areas of my stud walls without damaging my vapour barrier or tuck tape, it would have been better if the spray foam was put in before I put up the vapour barrier. I spoke with Dan about the sequence of events during the initial consultation. IMO, in light of the scraping/removal operation, he could have recommended doing the spray foam before the vapour barrier for this reason. Luckily, no real damage was done to the vapour barrier, but there is some overspray and it could have caused me some extra work if Chris wasn't so careful and skilled at removing the excess foam.

That said, I would definitely recommend Foam Comfort to family and friends. I have worked with many, many contractors over the years for roofs to basement slabs and everything in between. I wish they were all like Foam Comfort.

Great advice for us, well taken. I have made a note of this for Dan so that we can improve on these areas. I will pass on your review to Chris and Will as it says many nice things about how they operate. Thank you.

Spray foam insulation

Amazing service. Jen and Dan were so responsive, personable and very fair. We called for a touch up of 1 area a year after they did our whole house and they had someone there that day…they quoted within the hour and came back within 2 hrs to complete the 2nd job. I am from a small town and it felt like small town service - honest, genuine, fair and fast! 10+ all the way.
