Furnace repair

Our blower stopped working over the weekend. I called Reliable Home Comfort at 8 AM and a serviceman arrived by 10 AM. He figured out the problem carefully and took the time to explain to me the issues. He returned later that day with the replacment parts and installed them. The furnace works better than ever.

Furnace and AC

They came and they delivered as promised. When I was thinking about replacing my furnace and AC... I have gone through extensive reviews in this site. Dave from Reliable become naturally one of my choice. I called Dave for an estimate. He came in and looked my home, given a written estimate. No upselling pressures but he was able to sit with me and assess my heating and cooling needs. It was very professional experience. On the day of installation, Jamie and Andrew did a wonderful job for us. Jamie has to come back next day to finish some of the work. He did it with a smile. Since our home is an old construction, both Jamie and Andrew has to sweat a lot to run the pipes to outside through tight spaces, tearing of some wall, and redo some duct work to put the high efficiency furnace. They did it and for our surprise, Dave honoured his original invoice. I don't even have to mention about it. All together, I would rate reliable as the most reliable home haeting company... and add on they offered me free yearly tune ups for my furnace and AC for 10 years apart from the 10 year warranty on their products.

Steam Humidifier and Media Filter

After a miscommunication on the day of the install, Dave was quick to reschedule and fit me in the very next morning. The job was quick and efficient the two installers were excellent. Dave came by at the end to sign off on the deal and to make sure I was completely satisfied after our initial mix up. I would recommend this company.

furnace installed

Our 40yr.old furnace was leaking and I contacted "Reliable Home Comfort". After speaking to the contractors they explained the process of getting a new furnace and how I would be eligible to receive a $1, 700.00 credit back from the government if I was to get an "efficient" furnace. The men were very professional they gave me a price that include the furnace, labor and the removal of my old furnace. When they came they did the job in 4 hours like promised. They were very neat and took all the garbage out themselves. I strongly recommend these guys. Also they helped my family come up with a plan to pay the hefty 3K at our convenience.

Furnace and Tankless Water Heater

In order to take the advantage of the ecoEnergy Grant and the HRTC, we have decided to replace our 20 years old furnace. We find Reliable Home Comfort through Homestars.com. Dave responds to our email within 24 hours. Rob came to our house next day explaining all details. Few days later the new furnace is up running. The installers, Andrew and Liviu are very professional and had done a great job. We are satified with the new furnace and have them to install the Tankless Water Heater as well. I will not hesitate to recommend this great team to our relatives and friends.

Furnace repair

Furnace stopped working while we were on vacation. Furnace not that old - about 6 years - came with the house when we moved in. Called and talked to Dave - I think he thought it was a heat sensor. Easy, right? Well, Jamie arrived and he noticed the flame going out from the left side to the other. Immediately he knew it wasn't the sensor. He thought maybe the gas valve, or the heat exchanger. The exhaust wasn't blocked as I had checked that. The valve or heat exchange was bad news - expensive. Probably just out of warranty. He was going to replace the gas valve just to check that first... but, to make matters worse, the gas line was buried by an electrical panel. He worked for a while and managed to get it out from the furnace directly by moving the entire valve. That's when he noticed the crack in the exhaust line. He showed me how thin the pipe was inside. Maybe there was stress on it? Either way, fixing that wasn't much easier. The exhaust had no give and an elbow was tight against the top. He could get the screws loose to get the coupler out. He came up with a great idea to cut that out, extend new thicker pipe from the current exhaust to the inside. It took a few hours to get it all done, but he managed to get it all hooked up and running. It was toasty right away.

I was impressed - he knew his stuff, as he called it right away. The exhaust was on the left side and the crack was blowing the flames out. It was right at the top where the burners were. It made sense and the second he had it fixed, it worked fine. So - lots of labour due to the installation hell, but we didn't waste money fixing parts we didn't need and he was very thorough in his fix.

new a/c and humidifier

We have researched and gathered several quotes from a dozen or so heating & cooling contractors. Not only was Dave's quote the most competiitve but had taken the time to explain in great detail his scope of work and also offered several suggestions to help improve our heating and a/c system. Extremely knowledgable and took the time to examine our existing system. The system is running great and we have recommended him to several friends and family members and they all shared our view.

AC and furnace installation

Our extensive home renovation last summer included replacement of our furnace and installation of AC (no AC previously installed). As we did with all our jobs, we got quotes from a few companies and chose Reliable Home Comfort based on price (equal or cheaper than the others) and above all, my comfort level with Dave when I spoke with him. He seemed very knowledgeable and everything he said matched the research I had done beforehand.

Dave showed up on the day of installation with two of his installers and they stayed the entire day (until 8pm - outside in the rain!) to finish the job that also included installation of new humidifier and media filter. They even threw in a new thermostat for good measure!

As much as we were happy with the job they did, a truly great company is measured by the way they handle problems. About a week later the AC refused to turn itself off. Dave suggested a few things for me over the phone, but nothing worked. He said he would come over a couple of days later and in the meantime I had to turn the AC off using the main switch.

Dave and one of his installers came as promised, ready to fix the problem - they even brought a replacement thermostat if that turned out to be the cause. To my embarrassment it turned out to be user error. I had simply pressed too many buttons at once. Everything worked perfectly when Dave left - no charge.

I cannot recommend Dave and Reliable Home Comfort highly enough. I will be using them for all my future HVAC needs and have recommended them to all my friends.
