TRANS-MOVING, thank you, so much for your assistance with my emergency move. We had another mover cancel on us at last minute. Within 2 hours of calling, TRANS-MOVING movers were already loading up our belongings. The crew worked incredibly hard under many restraints. I am so impressed by their professionalism, dedication, and effort. This is the second time I have used them, and they are the best. Very careful with your items, and very fast!

I want to say few good things about that company.Really professional job.Reasonable prices.My previous experience was much worse.I highly recommend.Additional thanks for carefully moving my piano.Which was take down from 2nd floor.

We had a very basic move - two bedroom house, well organized, no kitchen boxes/appliances. Just two mattresses, one small couch, one 42" TV and two bedrooms and an office worth of books and stuff (we moved all kitchen things ourselves the night before).

1. Movers were two hours late
2. Movers were INCREDIBLY slow. After an entire hour they had moved on 20 small boxes. They were working together to carry a small ikea chair up a flight of stairs (something I do without difficulty on my own)
3. They did not speed up when we started helping with the boxes. At one point, the bigger mover carried a single tupperware box that had a down comforter and two pillows in it (<10lbs) - and that was his entire trip - meanwhile my partner and I were carrying 2-4 boxes/trip.
4. Movers were incredible rude
5. I emailed the company during and after the move to express concerns and have yet to receive any correspondence.

Would not recommend these movers to ANYBODY

Our experience with Trans Movers was satisfactory and no better.
They moved all of our stuff (with the exception of a full-length mirror that I later realized never arrived!), and they were polite and professional.

We had to move out of our apartment on the 31st and into a new one on the 1st, so they had to keep our stuff overnight (for $100 storage fee).

The most annoying thing was that they charged us for the same number of hours to unload the truck into storage, as it took for them to load the truck from our apartment. There is no way it would take that long, since to load the truck, they had to get the stuff from different parts of our apartment, work it around the doors, down the hallway, into and out of the elevator, through a door, around two corners, through another door and on to the truck. To get it off the truck and into storage, that’s all they have to do, get it off the truck. It’s their warehouse!
And then they charged us the same for the next day, though it did take less time.

The other disappointing thing was the number of broken items. I did say that the air-conditioner needed to be kept right-side up, but they put it upside down. Since it is a portable unit, it collects a lot of water, and it is impossible to totally drain it all. After spending a night upside down, water got into the electronics and it no longer works. The box wasn’t labeled “this side up” or anything though.
A wardrobe was broken, a dresser was broken (these can be fixed with some nails, we think, and neither are high-quality furniture or anything), and a cage I have for my small pets had 6 of the bars bent, three significantly (again, I specifically said it was much more fragile than it looks, but I was able to bend the bars back into place, so it isn’t broken). And like I said, one mirror just didn’t show up, and I didn’t realize ‘til the next morning. I don’t care too much about that, since I paid 10 dollars for it 4 years ago.

So yeah, satisfactory.

The main thing was the charge for the loading and un-loading for the storage. We were told that storage was a minimum 100 dollars, BUT they never said anything about having to unload the truck in storage, and reload it for the next day! So it ended up being 600 dollars for the storage. That was a big shock for us. We thought they would be storing it on the truck. They didn’t tell us they’d charge us to unpack and pack the truck, but even then, we really feel they overcharged for that portion of it, just in terms of hours of labor.

I used trans moving when my lease ended and needed to move apartments last month. I called and spoke with a pleasant staff member over the phone who assured me that I could book for the time and date I requested. Sure enough the movers showed up on time that morning and quickly and efficiently moved all my things. I know in the past I had hired movers and they took their time (since they charge hourly), but these guys were good and wasted no time. I'm not quite sure why anyone would have had any problems, my move was painless. They provided me with the contract and there weren't any surprises, I guess people just don't take the time to read them? I'd recommend this company anytime.

The movers turned up unexpectedly despite us telling their boss that we had to move the appointment because we could not book the service elevator in time.

He estimated 3-4 hours to move and 2 hours to unload or a flat rate .

They first tried to squat on the loading area but soon the other movers arrived. We had to go through a complete process ( we were being billed for hours while all this was going on to get the building management to agree to open up a normal lift. It was a pleasant surprise that the building manager did not turn us away. On calling the boss at trans moving he basically said he did not received any call and that he had an email saying that its 8am ( our earlier time.)

We basically had to hurry through the whole moving process and pack items that were still out. On arriving at the property they estimated 3 hours to unpack and we had to pay money before they would unload ( I am hearing that this is standard practice which to me sounds predatory).

They were done in 2 hours but laughed off when we indicated that they should return money. At this point we were too exhausted to fight it out with them and let it go.

Another important thing is they dont unscrew anything except the beds, the TV stand that I wanted removed and then bought a box for them was ignored, they basically taped everything and carried as is.

We ended up with a beefed up bill, had to hurry through the move.
