The movers turned up unexpectedly despite us telling their boss that we had to move the appointment because we could not book the service elevator in time. He estimated 3-4 hours to move and 2 hours to unload or a flat rate . They first tried to squat on the loading area but soon the other movers arrived. We had to go through a complete process ( we were being billed for hours while all this was going on to get the building management to agree to open up a normal lift. It was a pleasant surprise that the building manager did not turn us away. On calling the boss at trans moving he basically said he did not received any call and that he had an email saying that its 8am ( our earlier time.) We basically had to hurry through the whole moving process and pack items that were still out. On arriving at the property they estimated 3 hours to unpack and we had to pay money before they would unload ( I am hearing that this is standard practice which to me sounds predatory). They were done in 2 hours but laughed off when we indicated that they should return money. At this point we were too exhausted to fight it out with them and let it go. Another important thing is they dont unscrew anything except the beds, the TV stand that I wanted removed and then bought a box for them was ignored, they basically taped everything and carried as is. We ended up with a beefed up bill, had to hurry through the move.

I am deducting a * for the price but these guys did a good job. They came in and told me that they cannot clean the Vents because of the furnace type - Its a high efficiency furnace and they did not want to take a chance. They came in and added vents to the furnace exhaust as the installer had not made it serviceable. Overall they were very professional, cleaned up after the job and arrived on a weekend (the easter weekend!) because they agreed on Phone!

Hi Rama Annaswamy, it was a pleasure to meet you, and congratulations on your new home. Just so homeowners reading this are aware, it is not the furnace itself that we could not properly clean, it was the type of ductwork installed. These high efficiency outlets are small 2" outlets that our tools can not properly access. (if any company says they can clean these effectively, they are full of it) In order to clean these, you would have to disconnect the flex hose ducting that runs throughout your house, which is impossible to clean without damage. We did clean the return air system completely, and the main supply trunks that run off the furnace. We also performed a thorough cleaning of the furnace, as a courtesy to compensate for not cleaning the entire system and replaced the filters. Also, what Rama means when he says "added vents to the furnace exhaust" he means we have created access panels to access the interior of the ductwork, to allow hook up of the vacuum hose to remove the contaminants.
