I will start by saying, if you are considering the purchase of granite through this company, I have one word for you, DON'T....
We purchased countertops on April 1st, left a 50% deposit and were told our counter tops would be installed within 60-90days. On July 9th, my husband finally got tired of waiting for a phone call, as it was already 2 weeks past our deadline. When he called the company he was advised that the counter tops had actually arrived 1 month prior, but they forgot to call us. At this time we were advised that we had to pay the remaining 50% balance before they would even book us for the install. Feeling that our hands were tied in this matter, we made the stupid mistake of paying the money. Our countertop installation was now scheduled for July 16th, well past the 60-90 days quoted.
Install day was finally upon us so we removed the existing counter tops, sinks, faucets and turned the water off in the house. To our dismay our install was an absolute comedy of errors. As they installed the first piece, they realized that the piece was templated wrong and the piece that butted up against the wall had a rounded corner and not the straight edge it should have had. Next they installed the slab on our island... the sink hole was incorrectly cut and before we realized it, the installer was cutting our cabinetry to accommodate the sink. Once they installed the raised eating bar, we noticed that they did not even finish the underneath of the slab as stated on our contract. It is quite visible when you are sitting on the couch. The slab installed on the island was also installed damaged. I still don't understand how the installer did not see the huge gauge in the stone. Both of our bathroom sinks have been installed as undermounts and are both crooked... Neither bathroom slab was even siliconed. Did I forget to mention the damage they did to my maple cabinet during install. It appears that they dropped the piece and literally took a chunk right out of the cabinet. Then there is the mess they left behind... OMG, words cannot even describe!
I have now spent the past few days trying to get all of the issues dealt with. The manager Chris here in Edmonton has basically stated that maybe if they have some free time in the next few weeks they will come by to take a look at these issues. I have taken it a step further and even tried getting a hold of the owner of the company who has not returned my calls or replied to my emails. I have also left numerous messages for the CEO of the company, and he also has never called back...
If you want quality stone, quality work and quality customer service, this is not the company for you! Believe me, the few hundred dollars in savings, is not worth the mess you will be left with!
