We did our diligence in selecting a window manufacturer. We went with a big local company with an excellent BBB rating and a great product. Cost was not our first concern, but they ended up being nearly the lowest bid. Our salesman was great, always available with any questions we had. Even got us qualified for 1 year no finance option even tho we had our contract before the promotion. THe installers were excellent and tidy. They made their job look easy and were happy to show and describe all aspects of the installation process.
Our problems began when 9 of our windows were manufactured with the incorrect grill inserts. We had to have a service visit to replace them. This was 6 weeks later. Within that time we noticed a lot of glue on the inside and outside of our windows and asked our customer service rep to add that to our service call list. When the service techs arrived I first brought to their attention the glue on the inside and outside of the windows, he took a razor from his pocket and scraped some of it off and said I should do the same to all windows, that they would not be able to remove it. When I explained to him that I just bought brand new windows and didnt feel I should have to scrape glue off all of them, he suggested making a service call in the summer to have it looked at. Now they were off to re install the 9 windows, and all seemed to be going ok. But on their departure, the tech informed me that they had broken one of the windows during the attempted install and someone would be calling me to reschedule another appointment in mid January or February to install this locatrion(another 6 weeks). As I felt there was nothing to be done I accepted this and they were on their way. 2 days later I noticed that the window beside the one they couldnt replace was completely broken on the inside pane. I immediately called All weather windows and spoke with someone about my concerns. They advised me that it was unlikely that the other panes would crack as well. I told her it was unacceptable as this was in my 2 year old daughters room and was unsafe. She said that there was nothing they could do before mid January, and the call ended by me requesting to speak to a manager. 3 days later with no call back, I phoned back in. I spoke with someone new and raised the same concerns. This time the person I spoke to actually made an effort, she was able to give me an appointment date in 2 weeks to have both windows replaced.
I would have to say that I would not recommend AWW to anyone after having to deal with their customer service dept. The sales and installation was great, but the service is just as important, and I felt that AWW could use a lot of work in this dept.
