Let It Rain, Ltd.

I have never had an experience that actually motivated me to write a review....that is until my latest reno project led me to Let it Rain. I researched many companies and received numerous quotes for the job. I decided to go with Let it Rain because I was very impressed with the foreman Gary who took the time to answer my questions and provide different options; not to mention he was also competitively priced. He stuck to his word the whole way through the job and it was this trust that made entire experience rewarding and NOT stressful. Gary was very attentive throughout the job and always keep us up to date on how things were progressing. He delivered with flying colours...my wife and I are amazed at how much this improved the look of our home. I would most definitely recommend the folks at Let it Rain (especially Gary and Steve!) who were class acts and very professional. Thanks guys!

Let it Rain (Mick-Sales, A.J., Paul and Daniel-Installers) were on time and did a great job and I have no hesitation contacting them for future jobs!

Everything, from office interactions with friendly staff, estimate and completion of project was handled in a first class manner. I inspected the job site very carefully after completion and could not find one single piece of debris....a very good clue to the professionalism of the team.

Let It Rain did an analysis of our roof and attic, for the purposes of energy saving and renovation prioritization. Work was done well, on time and on budget. Report delivered was clear and helpful.

Last November, I needed a portion of my roof replaced, so I got quotes from three companies, including, Let it Rain.
Company 1 quoted $1700 (before tax); Company 2 quoted $1500 (before tax); and Let it Rain quoted the following:
SubTotal: $2900; HST: $377; Total: $2277;

I had assumed that because the other quotes were below $1900, that the total must be correct, that they were giving me a $1k discount.

Even still $1900 (before tax) was above the other quotes, and so I called the other two - but both said they were too busy to do it in the given time frame; However, let it rain said they could do it within 2 weeks.

I called their office to ask them to proceed, and they charged me a 20% deposit of $455.4 confirming a total of $2277.

A couple of days after the work was completed, they called me to say that they had made a mistake on the quote and that I owed them $2847.6.

When I pointed out the total on the contract, they said I should have known it was a mistake and tried to bully me into paying the extra amount, even a few days later threatening to put a lien on my house if I didn't pay the extra amount within a week.

It became a stressful, and rather than taking them to court, I decided to close it by paying the $2847.6, but the experience was extremely unpleasant.

Update - May 2017

It concerns me that they don't care that they even made the mistake. Never once did they apologize for their "mistake" and all the trouble it caused. Clearly, blame customers is their attitude.

I had a repair done by Let It Rain for a portion of my roof that was leaking last May. The roof continued to leak every time it rained. Let It Rain came back to fix it the leak in January, but it still continued. The interior of my house is now seriously damaged, and despite my 2 year written guarantee from the company and many emails and phone calls to the company, the owner Bruno has told me they are not responsible, that they are not fixing the roof, and that if I want the leak to stop, I need to hire them to replace a whole other section of my roof (at twice the cost of any other company's quote). He was also rude and bullying in his communication with me. My advice would be to stay far away from these crooked people.

July 2016 - Update
Bruno Levesque, the owner of Let it Rain, contacted me this week and offered a full refund for the repair, which I have gratefully accepted. I appreciate his professionalism in honoring the guarantee. Thank you for resolving the issue!

We called quite a few roofing companies for quotes, and LIR was the speediest to get back to us and come in for a quote, so that was impressive, as many didn't even bother to return our calls. The person inspecting the roof and attic to provide a quote did a very thorough job, top to bottom. That was great, except when we said we needed to think about it before making any sort of deposit he started getting very pushy about paying the deposit. Eventually he relented but that was not appreciated. We ended up going with LIR and they did a fine job on the day of, except that after they had pulled off all of the shingles, we received a call that we should be replacing all the wood underneath at a cost of an extra $1500 otherwise the shingles warranty would be invalidated. Given that the original inspector did such a thorough job providing an extensive quote, this was really not cool, especially since they were already in the middle of the job. This was not a fair tactic at all and soured our experience with LIR.

Brightworks Solar Inc. installed a solar system and connected it to a grid. They did a very very very good job! I found them through doing some online research! I was super happy with the work and that I went with this company.

Brightworks Solar Inc. did a really great job! They did a whole solar micro fit project and really impressed me. They were both punctual and neat and I am really happy with all they have done. I found out about this company through my brother as my niece had it done around the time I was looking for someone to come in.
