furnace in warranty

I was like others very pleased with the installation, but that's it. On January 3, 2014 called them in the morning for my furnace. The furnace is under warranty with "United energy" During the previous night the furnace stop working. After a few calls I managed to speak with a person. I explained and he told me that a technician will come afternoon. OK.
Nobody comes, I tried calling them again: "This is doctor comfort, United Energy, .bla, bla.......leave a message , will call you as soon as we can". I left them 10 messages , I sent them email with my detail info and contact. In home temperature is 10 deg. It's 5 January, the furnace doesn't work, they never came, they never called. I had to contact another company.

Going over their reviews at homestars.com, I noticed so many happy with the installation, like me, but checking their bad reviews I noticed those complains are like mine: they are not coming after installation, they never return calls, they are blaming the previous management - I have to say here that a few years ago I had a warranty call for the same furnace, and the previous management sent a technician in the same day.
I'm sure that next time I'm not going to chose a furnace by Carrier for example, just because it's served by company like: "United Energy Heating and Air Conditioning Inc"

Installation on Air Conditioner

United Energy had been taking care of our 15 years old furnace and ac for last 7 years. Finally this year I have decided to upgrade my air conditioning system. So I Called United Energy for the installation of a new Air Conditioner.
These guys are so honest and reliable that they took a lot of time to educate me about many different brands of Air Conditioners. They also educated me about the price difference between various brands. They did not push me a particular brand of Air Conditioner.
After looking at many different choices. We made our decision.
United Energy’s team leading with a really nice gentleman came to our home next day.
They took the time and covered all our expensive hardwood flooring to avoid any damage.
Before installing the Air Conditioner they walked me through the entire installation procedure. I was very amazed and surprised by the explanation and education.
The installation team took around five hours to finish. After the installation they showed us about operation of new Air Conditioner.
Furthermore, they gave us all the manuals for the AC. Before leaving our house they cleaned up the entire work area and provided me with customer satisfaction form which I filled in with perfect scores.
Two days later we got all our rebate paper from United Energy’s office. In fact, they have done an excellent job with my rebate paper work.
At the end I would say these guys are good and reliable. I have been dealing with them for last seven years. I never had any problem with them. They know there job. And they also know how to deliver it perfectly.
Finally I would recommend United Energy, An excellent HVAC company to everyone.
Thanks United Energy keep doing the good work.

New Furnace

The services that United Energy provides were exceptional.
They were very thorough in explaining to me the process and the reason for going from a furnace that has an 80% efficiency to my new one that has a 90% efficiency. With gas prices on the rise, my new furnace will save me big in the long run and therefore will be more economical. I have already seen the savings in my monthly bills! It was a pleasure to work with this very friendly and professional HVAC company.

Air Conditioner

They will rip you off. They promise the world but do a terrible job installing and don't stand by their work. Try getting them back to fix the botchy job! Good luck to anyone who chooses them. Michael is a terror and he should learn a thing or two about customer service. You've been warned!

Central Air Conditioning

Our experience with United Energy resulted into a very polite, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable people from sales persons to the installers.
We purchased a 20 year old home and the inspection report recommended that original air conditioning should be replaced.
Invited a number of companies after researching product reviews for air conditioning. I also reviewed some consumer reportsand came to the conclusion that if you select a reliable brand, the next most important thing was the quality of the installer.
Because of the complex nature of the installation, United Energy and team made sure we would be satisfied with the work before they began.
Unlike some of the other HVAC companies we interviewed, United Energy's team walked us through the job step by step, explaining the equipment, workmanship, and cost. While United Energy was not the lowest bid, their detailed quote and deep explanation gave us the confidence in our due diligence.
On the day of the install, Peter and his crew showed up on time and worked according to schedule.
At the end of the project, the work area was immaculate and we had a nice system that should last us another 20 years.
Before leaving they reviewed basic maintenance and operating procedures, and scheduled a preventative service call in a year's time.
After few days we received all our rebate papers from the company in the mail. Which was a great job from there side.
After running the system over the winter, we've noticed an appreciable improvement in indoor air quality and our gas bill has gone down too.
Definitely a worthwhile investment and I would definitely refer United Energy to friends and family.

Air conditioner replacement

Our a/c was quite old, so after talking about it, we decided to take advantage of the rebates to replace it.

We took our time and solicited several quotations, all of which were at the high end of the pricing range I noted.
we talked about it and had been on the verge of accepting one of the other quotations, but wanted to complete our due diligence, which is how we found Homestars.

As a result, having found some very negative reviews, we started again, and found United Energy on Homestars. They had an honest mix of customer reviews that we appreciated.

We contacted United Energy and they came out to do the quotation. Immediately, we were impressed not only with their knowledge but by the fact that that they recommended a smaller unit than everyone else!

Having done some reading myself, I knew that an a/c works best if it works for longer periods of time, yet all but one company quoted us on a 2.5 tonne.

United Energy recommended a 2 tonne (my existing was 1.5), and took the time to explain the technical rationale, only some of which I had come across.

I accepted United Energy's quote and we booked the date.

The installation went perfectly.

They called before they left, took all of the old equipment, and left the site clean. What a pleasant surprise.

They took us through the work done, explained all the paperwork, completed the OPA forms, and it was done.

We would absolutely recommend United Energy and their team, and certainly will be calling when my furnace needs to be replaced.

Thanks United Energy! Great Job All Around!!!

Ductless

We’ve wanted air conditioning in our home for quite sometime and since we don’t have ducts we assumed we were resigned to a lifetime of portable ac units hanging from our windows.

Then we came across United Energy.

We had quotes for a new ductless air conditioning system and no one was able to answer the questions, provide the detailed steps for the process to install a new ductless air conditioning as well as United Energy.

Their sales man had an easy-to-like personality from the beginning and is the type of person you can trust to do a good job at a great value.

We originally thought we were going to select a different contractor - but after the first 30 seconds we were with United Energy those thoughts changed.

What a difference in professionalism and experience! I’ve learned that a great install is the most important part of a ductless air conditioning - you will not get all the benefits of ductless air conditioning if it is not set-up or installed properly.

United Energy’s team exceeded our expectations and did EXACTLY what they committed to within the time frames.

They were on time, installation was very good, and the work area was spotless after completion. The entire team was very polite and you can tell they have a ton of pride in their work.

We strongly recommend United Energy and have already planned to have them install a new ductless A/C unit soon. We will be recommending them to all of our neighbors and friends.

Thanks for a great job and alleviating a lot of potential stress.

The last thing is the actual ductless air conditioning - The ductless air conditioning has been installed for months and we are extremely happy with it so far.

The 2 stage fans are eliminated cold spots in our house by keeping air in continuous motion and is extremely quiet.

Hooray for United Energy

Central Air & Furnace

A few summers back, I did my research and planned for a complete furnace and air conditioner replacement set for the fall before my old furnace and old A/C went kaput.

I found United Energy in addition to 4 other companies.
I received 5 quotes and ultimately picked United Energy who happened to have the lowest cost.

Honestly, I usually don’t go for the cheapest quote but United Energy was unlike the other companies.
The salesman was very informative and friendly.

I bought the Goodman furnace paired with the Goodman central Air Conditioner.
I found that United Energy has an informative website full of information on Furnaces and Air Conditioners.

During the quote process I was offered the comparable Amana furnace and Air Conditioner by other HVAC company.
Amanas are built by Goodman.
Basically they are the same but you pay more $$$$$$$ for the furnace and more $$$$$$$ for the A/C.
The only difference is the casing as the technology used by both products as the same.

Both have great warranties.

United Energy also educated me on yearly maintenance to keep my products in optimal condition.

My quotation and ultimately invoice are both detailed and exact.
I paid exactly what I was quoted.

This is not always the case with companies you hire to do a job.
I know this since I'm currently dealing with a plumber who isn't as up front like United Energy.

United Energy was very patient and fielded a few of my calls prior to me going with them.
They weren’t pushy at all and provided me a 'no-surprises' quote.

Installation was done in September by excellent installers whose names I can’t recall. The HVAC installation would have taken more than 4 days if done by a crew of one.
Thank you guys, I appreciate the work you did.

Can you believe that the highest quote I received was $14,500!?

This was for similar products from another HVAC installer and they’re the ones that installed the original furnace and A/C in my home many years ago.

In fact, I found it elevating that United Energy was talking me out of wasting money. They were very informed and good-naturedly explained the choices of furnace and A/C that were made.

This helped us make our final decision to go with United Energy.

United Energy’s service after the sale? Well, I recently had some super service when my units required cleaning and maintenance to keep them pristine.
I emailed United Energy for a cleaning appointment. Veronica called me back within a half hour of me sending the email.

The short of it, United Energy is responsive.

Somehow, I blew the fuse on the furnace's circuit board while changing my air filter that is powered by an adapter.

One of the guys who installed my furnace came and replaced the fuse promptly. Now that's service!

I will have no hesitation recommending United Energy and their team.

I've found that United Energy really does care about his customers by their actions and have recommended to family, neighbors and friends.

Samsung Ductless Air Conditioner

We were very impressed with how knowledgeable and friendly Ethan and Michael were when they first came to our home. We had received quotes from 3 other companies but we were very happy with the price United was offering and how assuring they were that the unit would meet our needs.

They installed the air conditioner and it has not worked since day 1 and they will not fix the problem. We purchased the unit two years ago and we have been calling them, leaving messages, sending emails and we even had a case against them through the better business bureau but they never responded and the better business bureau left the case as unresolved. The sub-contractor that installed an electrical panel called us one day asking if we had paid united energy since they had not been paid for their work. What a surprise.

At one point they assured us that they would get it to work or give us our money back but when I asked for my money back they refused. After threatening to sue Michael started returning my calls and admitted that the unit was defective and that he would bring us a new one but this was over a year ago and he won't return our calls. Surprise!! If you try calling and get a "voice mail full" it is probably because their voice mail is full of complaints that they won't respond to. I am currently working with the Toronto Star to try to expose these guys for the scam artists that they are.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!!
