Stove repair

The control panel/clock on our stove was breaking lose and falling into the appliance. We called the manufacturer, who referred us to Sutton and Son. I had great customer service from the time I called them. They knew what the problem was without coming, ordered the part and scheduled an appointment to come later the same week. On the appointed day, I got a call in the morning to provide a time frame. They arrived on time, completed the repair and all the paperwork quickly, professionally and without making any mess! A very pleasant experience! Thank you!

Stove problem

I had done a self clean on my stove just before a big dinner party I was planning. When the self clean was done I could not get the door open. I was in somewhat of a panic when I called Sutton & Son. I described the situation and they suggested that I may need to just reset my breaker. I did that and was able to open the door with no problem. They had also taken the model & serial number of my stove and looked up the handle to order it if it was needed. Thank you for the friendly, courteous help. I will definitely call them if I need appliance service. They also said that right before a big event is not the best time to do a self clean as with the high temperatures involved with a self clean, if something is ready to break, it will break then. Good advice to have.

Appliance Repair

I called Suttons and spoke to one of the employees about a problem with our gas stove.
The Employee (Shane) diagnosed the problem over the phone and setup service to fix it.
Suttons called in the morning and gave me a time frame that service would arrive at my house.
The Technician was very polite and explained exactly why the oven wasn't working and replaced the part within 20 minutes or so.
I was very happy with the service they provided and would highly recommend them.
I have had many services in my home over the years and have had to deal with broken promises and miserable employees.
Suttons was a breath of fresh air.

Two Excellent Experiences

Over the past few years, I have had two occasions to contact this company for service. Both experiences were very positive.

In the first instance, the drum on my washing machine stopped spinning. The service tech stated that it could be repaired but would likely fail again in a few months. Rather than waste money for a temporary fix, he recommended replacing the washing machine. This proved to me that this company had my interest in mind rather than simply padding their profit line through a temporary fix. I was impressed.

The second repair was for my dishwasher which was not cleaning the dishes very well and leaked occasionally. He found the problem to be a seal that had broken. Given the age of the dishwasher, he mentioned that to repair the problem he would have to remove a gasket. If it cracked, parts would not be available to repair it. Forewarned, I said to proceed. He did not crack it and the repair was completed at minimal cost.

Bottom line? I find this company to be very fair. They look for cost effective solutions and provide quality workmanship. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Stove repair

I chose Sutton & Sons in spite of the negative comments posted on HomeStars. My decision was based on the following facts.
1. They have been in business since 1928.
2. Steve Henderson, the owner, made a concerted effort to provide restitution to the disgruntled customers as noted on the comment page.
My experience has been nothing but positive & because of this I am giving them a perfect score.

Dryer parts

Paid 60 for a non stock thermal switch which they sell in a kit with two fuses for 39.00. Which they had on the shelf. They preferred to sell me the marked up merchandise as apposed to the cheaper but more extensive kit. When I asked them about this they blamed the manufacture. Stay away or get overcharged.

I am not sure why you think we would not want to order you a different part other than the one we sold you. We order parts 6 days a week and would certainly order you whatever you like. If the part we sold you was based on the manufacturers replacement, that would be in your best interest to use it.
Suttons either sells you the part at the manufacturers price or less. If you found something different I as the owner would love to know about it.

If you feel we have overcharged you for a part we would like to take a look at this and correct it.
I will tell you owning this business for 26 years your business is very important to Suttons and we want you coming back.

Dishwasher repair

Technician came out and did identify the issue and repaired it within the week. Unfortunately there were more issues which were a result of the original repair. Those did get fixed but we were without a dishwasher for 2 weeks.

Overall we were satisfied with the service but it just took longer than I expected.

dishwasher repair

"technician" showed up with no tools and ill prepared. Diagnosed the problem as a faulty valve after 5 mins. Fortunately I got a second opinion afterwards and found out it was the control panel and was not worth fixing the dishwasher. Tried to deal with company regarding the outstanding housecost bill given the techs misdiagnosis but never got a return phone call. They instead put the bill over to a collection agency. Ill be posting another company with a 10/10 rating who saved me from wasted efforts by Sutton and Sons

It is very frustrating to hear you have had this type of issue .
All of our technicians come prepared with tools. I find it odd that service would come into your home and diagnose the problem for you and then you feeling you had to have a second opinion.
Furthermore, what makes you think the diagnosis was more accurate from this other company which stated you needed a control panel?
I am always open to a customer issue and would be more than happy to discuss this further.
We at no time would send a technician out " with no tools and ill prepared"
Obviously there is more to this story .

dishwasher

This company came recomended from a local appliance store, which I find very surprising and have contacted the store to question their judgement when recommending this company! I would never recommend this service company to anyone. Multiple visits by technician, for a small leak. Made recommendations that had nothing to do with the leak, replaced a part that didn't need replacing. Appeared to be guessig at what the problem is. Charged ridiculous prices. Will find another more capable company if i ever need service again.

I am sorry we were having a problem identifying a leak in your product.
Typically we can see signs of where it is coming from but sometimes if it is not obvious at the time of the call it can become very difficult.
