Rent A Son

We hired Rent-a-son for a move from Toronto to Burlington. We're doing it in two parts in order to make it a little easier.

They just came yesterday for the first step, where they cleaned out our storage lockers and took a few items of furniture and boxes from our condo. This will be stored in their storage facilities until the actual moving date at which time they will load it up on the truck before heading back to our condo to get everything else.

Obviously this review is a little premature since they haven't completed the full service, however I was impressed with part 1. You can tell this company takes pride in the service they provide and as a whole it's a professionally run organization. It's a far different experience than our last movers.

Corey, Adjei and Dennis S. were our movers. They worked quickly and our items were properly cared for. Compared to our last movers who seemed to take a break every 30 minutes these guys were miles ahead of them. Not sure who we'll be working with for the final move but we would be happy if it was the same team as they were great.

Showed up at new address on time. Forgot living room carpet (stained by packer putting sooty fireplace tools on it), lost several appliances and a box of kitchen utensils (all denied by company - "we don't have them"), damaged several pieces of furniture and entryway (tried to hide oak flooring damage under a rug), damaged outdoor furniture including solid metal table, umbrella (ripped), new BBQ cover (full of holes).

I paid for extensive insurance they recommended.

Rather than visit to appraise complaints themselves , they wanted me to document everything with pictures. Their Operations people promised to follow up. That was 2 months ago. My guess is they will continue to ignore my complaints until I tire and 'go away'.

We moved early April, and since we've used Rent-a-Son twice before and have been fantastically happy with them, we used their services for this move. As always, the sons were very professional, on-time, more careful with our items than we were, and very very efficient. As always, they finished early, and everything arrived safe and sound.

In three moves, I literally have nothing even remotely bad to say about our experiences. If/when we move again, it is a complete given that we will use Rent-a-Son again. In my mind, there's no point even considering another option. In fact, we didn't even look for alternate companies the last two times we used them. They're that good. If you need quick, professional, competent, and conscientious movers, go with Rent-a-Son. If this seems gushing, it is because they make moving easy, which is pretty surprising.

Rent-A-Son has been our 'go-to' guys for any heavy lifting; no job is too small or insignificant. This time, we needed to move a lot of our furniture and artwork to the basement in preparation for a home staging. Jordan and Shane were fabulous: we were nervous about nicks or dents to the walls, and these guys were perfect. They even helped us stage the office - we followed their advice, and quite frankly, it looks better than the original layout we had in mind.

Rent-A-Son is going to be quite prominent in our lives for the next few months, cumulating in our move to another city later this year. I can't imagine doing it without them.

Rent-a-son was EXCELLENT from beginning with the quote to end of my move. They were reasonably priced, efficient, communicated well and my move went very smootly. I would highly recommend them and will absolutely use them again.

This is the 2nd time I've used Rent- a- Son and was really happy with their service both times. The Movers this time (Julian and Akim) were fantastic. They took care of the furniture that was to be moved and wrapped it in blankets. They were very polite and accommodating and made the move really stress free. Would definitely use and recommend rent a son again for any future moves.

After 42 years in Toronto home moved to Ottawa and was very apprehensive of moving horror stories. Through research selected Rent A Son and boy was I right. All aspects of the move were outstanding starting with Amanda's Co-ordination through the Packers and the incredible Crew led by Jason with Irving, David W. and Joe. The packers did a wonderful job and the crew were exceptional in all aspects including their good nature, efficiency,professionalism and skill . It was a pleasure to work with such caring (and careful) people who really wanted to please us and certainly did so. I unhesitatingly recommend this mover.

The movers from Rent-A-Son were terrific - great attitudes, worked hard all day, very careful with everything and smiled!! Made moving day as easy as possible!

From the beginning with Rob assessing the contents of the move to Andrew and Adjei physically doing the move the whole process was amazing. Everyone was very personable and they made you feel like they were moving family. Rent-a-Son was referred to me and I certainly would recommend them to others.
