Contacted Open Sesame based on high ratings from Homestars community when my garage door started behaving erratically.

Spoke with Steve who, despite being very booked for the day I requested, said he would fit me in.

Steve showed up as promised. Not only did he fix the issue, but he was clearly very interested in my learning to diagnose and fix the problem in future. The garage door has never worked better!

My garage door opener was failing about two weeks ago. It would only open about two feet and stop. Then.. it just stopped opening or closing or working at all. I was prepared to replace the opener and started pricing out new ones at Costco, Home Depot, Canadian Tire etc. I found this company on HomeStars and read the review from others. Before buying a new opener, I called Steve one night, left a message and he called me back first thing the next morning. He was friendly and offered me different option including ideas on how I could save my money (greatly appreciated). He quoted me on the cost for him to supply a new opener, the cost for him to install any opener that I had purchased and finally (his recommendation) was to refurbish the good opener that I already had. Turns out that the plastic gears in these opener only last about 10—12 years when people don’t lubricate them. I wasn’t in a hurry to fix the door, so we settled on a price and a date that was convenient for both of us. Steve (and his assistant Bob) showed up fairly promptly on Saturday morning and did everything in about two hours. They replaced the broken gears, cleaned the unit, balanced my door, tightened the door bolts and lubricated all the moving parts. My opener will now last me another 10+ years and it cost me half the price of a new opener. Steve was friendly, joked with me and did a very good job in my opinion.

I contacted Open Sesame to install a garage door and automatic opener on my new garage. They came by promptly with samples and were back to install - through some particularly frigid weather - they were cheerful to work with and the end result was perfect. Great focus on the finished quality of the job.

The remore opener had not worked in months and I had to close garage door manually. Stephen told me what to do step by step on the phone to avoid a service call and it worked. Very patient, incredible service and no charge. If I need a new garage opener, Open Sesame will get my business. Thank you Stephen.

Steve (and Bob) were wonderful!!!! The service they provided was exceptional from the time I called to the installation of our 2 garage door openers!! The service was worth the $$ I spent! We have used Open Sesame for the last 10years or so.
Our story is very interesting,it goes like this.A moving company backed into our garage door last February and and smashed in our shop door.
This was seen on video.We called Open sesame in the morning and Steve arrived just after lunch.He installed a beautiful brand new garage door of quality.
Ps.The mover denied the whole thing ,But a video is worth a 1000 words,Like Sorry I Didn't Realize?

If you are looking to replace your garage door and install an opener you need to talk to Steve. I met with a couple of top providers but as soon as I met Steve, he knew what I wanted and provided the highest quality of materials for the price. Pride in workmanship, trustworthy, quality, highly recommend!

I had an idea of what I wanted but needed help making it happen. Steve came in and helped me design a custom made panel that would work with the design. After building the panels, he was able to design a track, spring and lift system that would carry the weight of the heavy panels. It came out exactly as I was hoping. He returned no questions asked and fixed a small problem with one of the doors. The three doors work beautifully.
Most trades would have tried to talk me into an easier solution, Steve supported it all the way.
