Here are the reasons for my 5 star rating:

1. I am a demanding customer. I communicated with Michael over 15 times (email and phone) before the installation, regarding unit model numbers, multiple quotes, changes to installation options. Each time Michael responded promptly and with patience.
2. Michael visited us twice and his lead installer visited once even prior to the installation, during their busy season. Michael also visited the site during the installation. This shows focus on the customer.
3. His lead installer was patient, thorough and genuinely interested in doing a good job. Instead of a day and quarter, they spent two days to get the installation right. The finished install looks great.
4. Some issues came up during installation like incorrect parts from the supplier. Michael's family got involved, rushed to the supplier, picked up the correct parts and brought them to the site to get the job done on time.
5. Michael followed up a few days after installation to check how everything was working.

I am glad I listened to my gut feel after meeting with Michael and decided to go with them. For us the entire experience was very positive and I would recommend Mckinnon without hesitation.

The initial installation in 2012 took 2 weeks instead of 2 days and never worked properly and included a massive unexpected drywall repair. Yearly trouble, countless service calls, subpar performance and endless phone calls to the manufacturer - we discovered the reason: incompetent installation: The most important wire was rated for indoors (not outdoor) and was solid, not stranded, causing circuit boards to receive widely fluctuating voltages crippling the while system until they burned out, and now, only one unit works at a time - and barely. To fix this is going to take about $2000 minimum per unit. Eventually, the company gave up calling us back.

Thanks for very professional work done removing the rental water tank and installing the new tankless heater - Work was done on time and very tidily and we are very pleased with the result.

From inspection to possible parts solution, and expired warranty on my current furnace, we opted for a much better suited, new furnace to embellish the needs of the home. Inspection and superb installation took less than 5 hours! Replaced thermostat and did full check on the new system. McKinnon owner and his team are hands on, up front, spell out all options, and very personal. I HIGHLY recommend their company and services. I have been serviced by them for over 15 years and have absolutely no complaints, only ovations.

I have used Mckinnon for 16 years. My hot water heater broke down in October and the owner of the company promptly came to my rescue and replaced the tank. But it didn't work. It took them three months to figure out the issue and we and my tenants were without hot water for THREE MONTHS. The front office treated me terribly. The water is more or less working now except we need a small vent installed in the furnace room- something that was suggested 3 months ago. I am still not sure that will solve the issue. But after all the grief they put me and my family through waiting for repairmen, NO hot water to shower or wash dishes, McKinnon refuses to cover the $200 cost for their technician to make the vent, claiming its a separate service from the install. Don't use them.

My ancient octopus furnace, which I loved, died on Boxing Day 2019. Spent a couple of weeks reviewing quotes, and chose Mckinnon Heating.

Michael (Owner) came out on a Saturday to assess. He recommended a recycling contractor, who dismantled the octopus. Gave me a couple of quotes for that. Chose one, and they did quick and fine work of it in 3 hours.

Michael gave me a detailed Scope of Work, which was a deciding factor in my decision. Not the cheapest bid, but the right one. After that, the Mckinnon's crew showed up to install a new high-efficiency furnace and remove/replace old air ducts, over three days. The crew were totally professional, capable, courteous, etc. I am so impressed with their work. All done on time and on sked, as promised. Highly recommended. Bill

Big thank you to Bob and his team who spent three full days installing a new furnace and air conditioner. This was a difficult job as our basement is fully finished. He relocated the duct work and outside vents for the furnace which required ceiling holes. Thank you for not making them too big and easy to repair. The position of the air conditioner outside was also moved to a place easier accessed. He removed the old units and left his work area in the basement in excellent condition. Much appreciated.

McKinnon has been doing our furnace and A/C cleaning for years and they replaced our furnace and A/C units about 8 years ago. Our 30 year old humidifier recently conked out and flooded our furnace room, so after mopping up, we were in need of a new one. I knew more or less how much it would cost, so I phoned McKinnon's at 9am and by 9:30 I had an appointment for the next day at a very competitive price. The technician, Hamid (who had been here before) did a great job installing, cleaning up afterwards and explaining what I need to do to maintain and use the new unit. He also caulked a few areas in my ducts from the furnace where he felt some air blowing. He is a gem! McKinnon's is always easy to work with. Their office staff are professional, efficient and friendly and the technicians are knowledgeable and pleasant. When we need help with heating and cooling, we feel there's no need to shop around as we'll always get great service and competitive prices at McKinnon Heating and Cooling.

A Mckinnon crew installed 5 ductless AC units in our home this July. They were efficient, organized, exacting and respectful of the spaces they were working in. One unit was in a very tricky location and Mike and Bran took extra care to install it precisely. They cleaned up the both inside and out completely after installation and the units have all been working perfectly. A very professional job.
