HRV - air exchanger

I was in the market for an air exchanger and humidifier for my 5 year old home. I called Enwise and a sales rep quickly arranged a meeting. We decided on a model and to my surprise he was able to do the site inspection. This took some discussion, measurements and planning as the intake and outflow locations need to meet certain building codes. A week later an energy audit was performed so that I could benefit from all the available energy rebates. Again this individual was extremely helpful and offered a number of suggestions to improve the insulation of my home. Next day two installers arrived with their special mats so as not to track any dirt through my house. They walked me through the installation and operation of the units to my satisfaction.

I would highly recommend Enwise to anyone who is in the market for any HVAC upgrades. The great part is that they handle all the rebates that are available to you.

I would also highly recommend the installation of an HRV. The house feels like it has fresh air at all times and it will certainly help alleviate the dry air.

Tankless Hot Water Install

My original hot water tank BROKE. Not having hot water is a cruddy predicament I soon realized and I was in the market for the tankless version. I called Enwise and they had 2 people out the next day to spec out a finicky install (it is an older home) and they had me up and running with new unit within 3 days. It has worked perfectly since - endless supply of hot water and gets hot faster than the old tank. It is a Rennai unit, not sure what model.

Insullation

I was recommended to Enwise by a freind when I got in a bit of a pinch with my home reno. I needed someone that could come out and do the job asap(to keep the project on time), yet I wanted the price to be competititive- I got both. The energy auditor showed up in a day and was very helpful. The insulltaion contractors came in only two days and the quote I ended up getting was slightly lower than the two others I had. Of equal importance to the price, the team could install the insullation in the the same week. The work was done professionally- my contractor was impressed, and they did a good job with the clean up "stuff" before they left.

All in all a very good experience.

Furnace replacement

Our furnace broked down 2 days before Christmas last year. We had 28 people coming to spend the holidays and no heat! I contacted a few companies and they didn't seem too concerned with my plight-but then I reached Enwise. They were empathic and understood our desperation. They dispatched a crew and by the next day I had a working furnace! They even offered to provide me with heaters to keep my family warm until the following day when the repair could be made. Can you believe that? Not only was the service amazing but we actually saved money with all the rebates that they provided. I have recommended them to all my family and friends!!!

Installation of Tankless Heater

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and let you know how much my family and I are enjoying our new Rinnai tankless water heater.
The entire experience was, and continues to be a great one. The installation was quick and professional, with no clean up to worry about. Living in a smaller home, gaining floor space from the removal of the old water heater tank was a great benefit.
Of course, the main benefit is being able to enjoy an unlimited hot water supply. Not having to worry about having too many showers in a row or running the dishwasher at the same time is a real luxury.
Our gas bill is far easier to take now as well. No more monthly rental fee for an aging tank and the savings in gas usage are quite apparent.
One big advantage that we never thought about has come up too. We own a hot tub and changing the water is part of its maintenance. It takes about 1500 litres of water and we used to fill it from a garden hose. It took several hours for the water to get to temperature, especially in the winter. That meant having the pump and heater operating for a long period of time. This time, we simply adjusted the Rinnai to 100 degrees and filled it directly from our laundry room faucet. The Rinnai ran long enough to fill the tub and shut off. The thermostat on the hot tub registered 101 degrees when we had finished, so no further heating was needed. We added our chemicals and our tub was ready to use in record time.
Thank you again, and we’ll be recommending EnWise and Rinnai to everyone we can.

Furnance, A/C, Tankless W/H, Insulation

I hired Enwise to replace my furnace, air conditioner, put in a tankless waterheater, and put insulation in the attic. I had a great experience with EnWise and would recommend them to anyone. The Energy Auditor was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was able to make an appointment with only a one week wait and he showed up exactly on time. Literally to the minute! After my audit, I only had to wait two weeks to get my work done. All items were done within six hours in one day, involving three different teams. Excellent service and well coordinated. EnWise handles the government rebates, so no worries on filling out annoying paperwork. Plus if you get any work done, the cost of the audit deducts from your purchase price. My gas bill is down over 40% this year, plus I have way more space in the basement. This project was a big win for me.

Furnace/Tankless Water Heater/ AC Install; Duct Cleaning

My wife and I moved in to our first home a couple of months ago and we felt this would be the best time to have a home energy audit of the house. We found Enwise, and at the time, the company seemed reputable enough to at least come out and perform the energy audit. The audit went very well and because we bought an older home, my wife and I knew there would be some items that needed to be taken care of to make our home more energy efficient. We decided to continue with Enwise's business and booked ourselves in for an install of a new Furnace/AC/Tankless Water Heater along with Duct Cleaning.

The day we were to have the ducts cleaned, the person that was scheduled to come out never showed up. My wife called the head office and even Head Office could not locate this person. Head office asked if we could we re-schedule and we decided that this was unacceptable and that they could just cancel this service if the ducts could not be cleaned that day. Once we threatened to cancel, the head office somehow found another person to clean the ducts later that day; 2 hours later after the scheduled time.

The day before the installation of the Furnace/AC/Tankless installations, I put in a call at Head Office to make sure that we were still booked. This was just to make sure everything would go off without a hitch. I was sadly informed that we were not scheduled at all for any of these products. This was infuriating and unprofessional. I contacted the Sales Rep and the Scheduler that we dealt with and informed them of the situation and that this was completely unacceptable. After an hour of going back and forth with Enwise's representatives, we received confirmation that the installation would still take place. Apparently Enwise was not sure why we were told incorrect information but nonetheless, the installation would proceed as scheduled.

I cannot harp too much on the actual installation of the equipment. The installation of the equipment turned out fine and seems to be all in good working order, but there were some little things that bothered me a little. After the crew left, it seemed that they had used some of my own Varsol that they had taken off our shelf without permission. Furthermore, I had to run out to a nearby hardware store to buy them supplies in order to fix some problems. Lastly, I found it a little odd that one person was working with the A/C unit while smoking (I'm not entirely sure if this is a hazard.)

Overall, I cannot help but feel dissatisfied with the whole experience with Enwise Power Solutions. I felt the home energy audit went well and the end result of the equipment installation seems to be pretty good up to this point. The mis-handling of scheduling and the questionable activity of some of the installers is not something I can truly support and I will find it very difficult to recommend this company to anyone.

After my original post, the following occured.

It seems that we were supposed to receive a rebate in the mail for signing up with their program. Two months ago, we received a note in the mail stating that the rebate could not be sent without the paperwork being filled out. We were told by our Enwise Sales Rep that they would take care of everything. Two months later, we were notified again that the proper paper work was not sent at all. Essentially, we are out of pocket due to this company's lack of detail and its interests in its clientele.

This has been a frustrating and unnerving experience and I caution anyone who would give this company their business.

Tankless Heater and Air Exchanger

This company is awesome. Was refered by a guy in the neighbourhood. Sent in an email request for info, and setup and appointment for an audit. Totally knowledgeable audit, courteous, professional, great advice on future renos. My monthly energy bills have decreased as advertised - using the extra money to sponor 3 kids at WorldVision. Saving energy, pollution, more room in basement, and money, win win win.

Energy Audit

I hired Enwise to come in and do an energy audit in home. I selected Enwise based on research I had done - and the fact that the company also performs any work required - and while I was happy with some of what they did I was very disappointed with the entire experience. The first guy came out and did not know what he was talking about - he made renovation suggestions and rebate promises that were wrong and that the company could not fulfill - he even offered to have his father sell me an Air Conditioner as it would be cheaper for me than to buy it from the company he was representing. When he followed up with me I asked for confirmation on what he had told me I as informed that the solution he suggested to me was not possible. The Enwise rep, trying to make up for his first mistake offered (in written correspondence) to make false statements to the government on my behalf to try and get me more of a rebate. I called the company to inform them what their rep had done - and even sent them complete copies of the emails. At that point I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said I would still have them come out and do the work that I needed to have done (insulation in the attic). I was hoping that they would take care of me - especially after I called them and informed them of what was going on and I could have easily submitted a complaint to the government. When they finally charged me for the initial audit they ran my credit card through 3 times -for which they offered me a free duct cleaning. I had just had my ducts cleaned last year but I decided to accept the offer as that was all they offered. When I got my final bill and noticed they had not made any effort to discount anything I again called to complain - I was told that they would give me my 2nd audit for free - which was the final straw for me - when I first had them come to my home I was told that if I spent at least $1,000 with them that my 2nd audit would be free of charge (which was another reason I selected this company) and now they were trying to offer me this in exchange for messing up so much. At this point I said just come out do the audit and get me my rebate so I could be done with them. The last guy who came out was very knowledgeable - however at that point I was so disgusted with them that it didn't matter. All it would have taken was for the company to offer me something on my insulation bill to make me a happy customer. In the end they offended me further and now I would never refer this company to anyone I know.
