Today, I had my hot water heater tank replaced. The techs may have replaced the tank properly (yet to be fully determined as I have not used much hot water) but they left me with a GIANT mess in my bathroom. Rather than asking me, the person who lives in the condo and owns all items in it, the tech went ahead and unplugged my fragrance oil. He then turned it upside down and plugged it back in (which could have resulted in a fire, actually), resulting in oil left all over my counter, the wood cabinet, hundreds of dollars worth of makeup, the tile floor, and a little bit of the hardwood floor. I just spent over an hour cleaning the mess. I also attempted to make a claim over the phone and demanded I be reimbursed for the damage, to which I was told that I would have to wait for them to call me back and POTENTIALLY reimburse me, which is absolutely unacceptable. Luckily, I have taken photos and saved all evidence of the nasty spill, but I do NOT recommend this company due to carelessness, as well as the months I have spent waiting to have this new tank installed. I had at least 4 service calls in the past 8 months, receiving a variation of responses each time, until I hired my own contractors to come take a look so that we could inform EnerCare of what needed to be done to upgrade the hot water tank I was renting from them. Horrible, horrible experience. I would switch if I weren't locked in a contract and if they didn't have such a monopoly in this area.
