So - thinking that I had too many projects on the go around this summer, I thought that I would get one of the jobs done through Home Depot installations services; you know, likely pay a little more, but in turn get top notch customer service and not have to worry about babysitting a 'joe average' contractor. WAS I EVER WRONG! Cherry & Clark ends up being the assigned company for the siding job (incl. eaves & fascia) that I went through the Home Depot for; no big surprise, we all know that they farm out the work. The salesperson/estimator touts themselves from 'HD Roofing' and does not mention Cherry & Clark, but regardless they are friendly, responsive and helpful in the planning process - UNTIL we sign the paperwork and give our Home Depot card for the deposit - then, the guy disappears! No responses to voicemail, email, and I am left with a piece of paper that says my estimated start date is in 2 weeks! So much for not having to hand-hold the contractor; long-story-short it took over 6 weeks before the job was started after a HUGE amount of effort/follow-up on my part, they forgot to place the materials order, weren't clear about who was handling the job, etc. – their customer service & responsiveness is simply brutal! Finally when the work gets done - Cherry & Clark subs the job out to another company 'Metro Home Improvements' - UN'freaking'believable! And while the work that was completed was of decent quality; let me tell you that the cast of characters were hardly who I would want representing the Home Depot brand if I worked there. So - lesson learned, whenever possible get a top-quality small business contractor referred to you by a friend who has used them before; and be sure to stay away from the Home Depot and Cherry & Clark!

The Floor Shop is a great company to choose for your flooring job! From initial over-the-phone questions on installation answered in great detail, including price breakdowns; to our first in-store visit with easy to view samples, prices, and great Q&A help from the staff. Our in-home estimate & review w/ Allan was on-time, quick & clear and we were scheduled by Andrew a few day later. Installation was scheduled a short time later and completed by Wojtek & team in 2 days (approx 900 sq.ft. 2 floors, whole home) and was done flawlessly and cleanly. We think the Floor Shop is great value, service, and delivers quality workmanship.

After doing our homework on getting quotes from a number of fencing companies, we went with FG Fencing based on quoted price & associated reputation of being listed on the Mike Holmes website. From the get go John was receptive, personable and great at answering our questions and consulting on the design process. The job scheduling took some time b/c we had to arrange for neighbours to approve and for all of us to coordinate our deposits and get the utility locates done; once these were complete we were ready to roll. Installation was quick and as mess-free/low-impact as could be expected for digging post holes, etc. The completed project looks great and is solid! We now have a beautiful cedar fence with 6x6 posts and driveway gate providing privacy & security. All-in-all, FG Fencing is top notch and we'd recommend them for your project.

Bill was responsive, accessible, honest & straightforward - scheduling our job was a breeze, Bill called 1 week before, then the day before to confirm. His crew (Dustin, Matt, Clayton) showed up on time, were super professional, did a great job and cleaned-up afterward. The Chimney Company is top value for price & service!
