We originally had a powered awning installed at our cottage about ten years ago. During a windstorm late last year the arms broke and we needed a repair or replacement. Adrian was quick to give us options on what we can do and offered to visit the house to look at the damaged arms. We decided on a replacement of the main unit and Adrian was able to give us a bit of a rebate for the old motor (which still worked). We ordered the new unit and Adrian and Simon installed it as quickly as it came in. Both took great care and it was obvious they cared about installing it correctly. We had a small issue with one of the arms not fully retracting a few days later and Adrian was there almost immediately to tweak the settings and it works perfectly now. I highly recommend them - Adrian was always responsive (by text) and gave us really good advice on what to do.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with EcoComfort. I recently had work done in my attic (new wiring, vents, etc.) and needed a top off and baffles installed in the attic. I contacted EcoComfort based on their reviews on Homestars and I wasn't disappointed. Wojtek gave me two dates to work with and squeezed me in very quickly. The team that showed up was on time, respectful, and cleaned everything up when they were done. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again.

I can't say enough about Simon and the team that came to our home (Bogden, Ziggy, and others). I found Simon through the Homestars website when I was looking for someone to refinish three full staircases in our home. Simon was quick to return calls and gave me a 'no surprises' estimate that they stuck to. Simon and the team are quite busy but were able to accommodate our stair refinish before the Christmas holidays. They arrived on time each day, were very courteous to me and my family, and took care in working around the house with a messy job. They put up plastic to isolate as much of the dust as possible and this was a big benefit. Simon also helped with a flooring install that we were contemplating ourselves in two additional rooms and worked quickly to finish these for us. In addition, we asked Simon to arrange for one room to be resanded and stained (which he did!)... The best part of all is the help that Simon was in finishing an install that we had already committed another installer to do. We had another installer that had started the flooring on the upper level (engineered hardwood glue down install) who was behind schedule and commented on the Friday before Christmas that they 'should' be back on Monday to continue working and that they 'should' be done around Tuesday. My family had to move out during the install so this was not acceptable. A call to Simon late on Friday night had a team there on Saturday morning finishing the install from the previous contractor. Both my wife and I are extremely happy with the work the SB Hardwood did - they are completely professional in their service - they show up when they say they are going to - they stick to the price they quoted - they are respectful and will help wherever they can. It was a great choice choosing SB Hardwood and will highly recommend their service in the future. Larry

We contacted Energy Clean after a recommended contractor (big famous one) wouldn't even return our calls for an onsite appointment to review the installation. Scott came as a recommendation from the HVAC consultant we used (Terry Hayward) to replace an upper level furnace of a duplex. The job was complicated in that it required removal of the existing ductwork that was run in the ceiling of the upper level (lowering the ceiling heights) and rerunning all of these lines through the attic and insulating them. As with most renovations, a few surprises came along when ductwork was removed and routings were made. Scott's team of installers did a good job of the initial install. When it came time to insulate the ductwork Scott used a less than ideal individual who obviously did not have the experience in completing this portion of the installation. One phone call to Scott and the problem was solved - he had the best insulator onsite within days to finish the job. I have rated Scott's service as a 10 because although we did run into some problems with one portion of the work - Scott was very reactive to my concerns and immediately fixed the problem. As a homeowner - I couldn't have asked for anything more and the installation was really complex. The work did take longer than expected but honestly much of this was due to my own delays in completing some items of the renovation before they completely finished. Scott was not the cheapest of the installers that we're recommended to us but he is very reactive and put us at ease from the very beginning. Great to work with and I'd recommend their service to anyone.
