I was informed by my furnace manufacturer that my furnace was under a safety recall notice. In one of their emails they provided the name of the HVAC firm in my area whom they had contracted to do the recall replacement part repair. That company was Martino HVAC (Concord). I emailed Martino one evening and the next morning I received a phone call from Chris, the Service Manager. He was very personable and helpful. He reassured me that the recall repair would be taken care of and that I had little to worry about in operating my furnace. He also explained what would be involved. He ordered a replacement part that same day. It was to be shipped to my house and he asked me to let him know when it arrived. Later that same day I received an email from Chris letting me know that the part had been ordered. A couple of days later the part arrived. I emailed the information to Chris who quickly got back to me offering me a couple of days when the repair could be done at my convenience. I chose one and I was given a three hour window when the technician would arrive. Scott, the technician, arrived about an hour into the window. Scott made the repair. While he was doing his work he explained what he was doing and why. He also gave me some advice about proper furnace filters. A few hours after the repair was completed I received a follow-up email from Chris telling me that Scott had informed him that everything had gone well. The whole process from when I contacted Martino HVAC until the recall repair was completed was less than two weeks. I was very impressed with Chris and his quick responses to my concerns and his arranging for the work to be completed. The technician, Scott, was very personable and skilled in his work. I was particularly impressed that the repair was followed up, something that rarely happens when service work of any kind is completed. Based on my experience with Martino HVAC I would not hesitate to call them or recommend them to friends for either HVAC repairs or equipment replacement.

We contacted First Choice Fence last summer to replace a fence at the back of our yard which had been in need of removal and replacement for a couple of years. An added problem was a large silver maple tree that was straddling the property line and pressing on the existing fence. Pratema responded quickly to our phone message. She made arrangements to come to our house to take measurements and to give us a quote for the wood fence and an adjoining metal gate. Pratema was personable and knowledgeable and her suggestions for dealing with the tree, her positive Homestars reviews and her fair quote led us to choosing her company for our job. On installation day Pratema and her crew arrived on time and fully prepared for the job ahead. They worked extremely hard. Problems with the large roots of the maple tree caused some delay but the team overcame them. They were quite creative in the way that they incorporated the tree into the design of the completed fence. The fence looked good. After a long day the cleanup was impeccable. Other than the new fence you would not know that anyone had been here. I purposely did not leave a review last fall after the job was completed because I wanted to wait to see how the fence stood up to the winter. I am pleased to say that the fence is sturdy, looks good and has added to the enjoyment of our yard. I have recommended First Choice Fence to a few people and I would not hesitate to use them again. Our dishwasher shut off valve recently started to leak. On the advice of a friend we contacted Azi of Best Plumbing. He arranged to come over on the same day to handle our problem. His communication with us was terrific. When Azi saw the setup, which was 15 years old and with materials that were quite dated, he was quickly able to plan a fix and replace the old materials with more modern better ones. Our problem was fixed. Everything was explained to us as it was being done. The price for the work was fair and Azi itemized everything on a detailed invoice. We were so impressed with Azi and his work that we made arrangements to have him come back next week to handle another potential problem before it becomes more serious. We would highly recommend Best Plumbing.

Our AC was running but very inefficiently. After checking out reviews on Homestars and Google I contacted Climax Air and asked for a service call. They said that they would be out later that same day. Sam called later that morning and said that he would be at our place within a half an hour. Sam asked me to describe the problems that we were having and then went to look at our furnace. He quickly determined that our coils were frozen. When he checked the AC unit outside he found that the unit was low on refrigerant. He first turned on the heat in the house to thaw the coils and drain the melting ice water. This took a little while but Sam patiently persisted. Once that was complete Sam topped up the refrigerant and sealed the leak. He turned on the AC and checked the temperature output. The temperature became sigificantly colder than we had been able to obtain for quite some time. The house quickly cooled to the set temperature. Before he left Sam he asked us to call if any problems resurfaced. Throughout the whole process I was impressed with Sam's professionalism and patience with my many questions. I have waited a week to post this review in order to make sure everything was working as it should and it is. We are very pleased with the service and we would not hesitate to call Climax Air again if needed.

We were very impressed with Andrew and his Re-Leaf Group crew. Andrew came to our home on a Saturday afternoon to discuss our project and to give us an estimate. His quote was fair and we arranged for him to do the work that was recommended. Skill and care were exhibited by Andrew and his crew as they worked, not only in our yard but in our neighbours’ yards as well. The work was completed efficiently and professionally and the clean up afterwards was exemplary. We were very happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to recommend The ReLeaf Group to anyone who needs tree services.

After noticing a leak in our bedroom ceiling we contacted two roofing companies who had high ratings on Homestars to obtain quotes. We had to leave a message with one company. They did not return our call. Professional Roofers answered our call and made an appointment to come out and to do an inspection and to give us a quote. Jorge arrived early for our appointment and after introducing himself went up on the roof to take a look. He confirmed that we needed to have the roof replaced. He came into our house and professionally explained what the problem was and how it would be addressed. He gave us what we considered to be a reasonable a quote. He told us that if we chose his company that they were booking appointments for 2-3 weeks later. This was a concern because of the leak. While there had only been a minimum of damage so far, we were afraid that it could become much worse. Jorge told us that he could send out a crew the next day to tarp the roof. We agreed and we signed the contract. The next day two men arrived from Professional Roofers, even though it was the Canada Day holiday. They spent a great deal of time on the roof and very carefully and completely covered the area of the roof where the leak had originated. On the day scheduled for the shingle replacement the Professional Roofers' crew arrived right on time and started in on their work. They tarped several areas around the perimter of the house to catch debris.They worked right through the morning and into the afternoon, even during a brief period of rain. During and at the end of the job they cleaned up the debris that fell from the roof. At the end of the day the roof looked great. A couple of days later I got a call from Professional Roofers to ask if I was happy with their work. I've never had a company do that before. I was impressed. I purposely waited several weeks to post this review as I wanted to go through several periods of rain to make sure everything was high and dry and it has been. Our neighbours recently decided that they needed a new roof and eavestroughs and I was happy to recommended Professional Roofers to them.
