In July, we had our sump pump replaced by Reliance at which time I asked them if there was a rebate program they told me no. I later found out there was a rebate program through the city of Toronto. The city requires a business license number. To date, Reliance has steadfastly refused to give me the business license number stating that its a union issue in order to protect their subcontractors. I have tried various different attempts to get this number and they simply refuse, and therefore I cannot apply for the rebate program. This is 100% unacceptable and I would highly recommend staying away from Reliance because as a consumer there is no sound reasonable, rational reason why a company will not give me their business license number. Dont be fooled by the size of this company like I was and do your homework. I would not recommend using Reliance and as soon as my service plan expires. I am walking away. .

I can only speak for myself. He attempted to built us a new deck. The workmanship was pure garbage. I met with Sam to go through all of the issues. He is a nice enough fellow but I would highly recommend not using him for two reasons. First off he admitted to me that he is "not a carpenter". He did not even know how to remove a wood railing from a brick wall. He seemed confused when I suggested he use a proper drill bit to remove the railing. He questioned me how to do this (I'm no handyman but know this much). Instead he literally hacked the wood off causing extensive damage. Then he put it back after putting in new deck flooring. He did not secure this properly either. The workmanship was lousy and there were several safety concerns once he was done. Lost $3K on the job as I had zero confidence in his ability to fix what he had done. Had to pay someone else to redo the whole job. At least it was done properly. I gave him a 1 for showing up and for being a nice fellow. My best advise is don't give him any money up front other than for materials. In fact it's probably best to stay away.
