Update on my complaint below- Reliance finally fixed the error on my father’s bill after I made my complaint public on Google and HomeStars. Thank you Penny for taking care of this matter.
Reliance had my elderly father who suffers from Alzheimer’s sign a contact few years ago which is bad enough but they have also billed them twice every month, one under Reliance and another under Enbridge. After fighting with them for this double billing they issued a credit to his account. When the credit was used up, they began double billing AGAIN!!! Their billing department has no intentions of correcting this simple error despite my NUMEROUS attempts to talk to them over the phone spending countless hours of my valuable time. Someone from Enbridge finally emailed me when I made a review on Google but she also has not fixed the problem although she states on their Review site that she has. I am thankful for services like HomeStars and Google Review so that I can warn other customers about unethical companies such as Reliance. It scares me to see how our society has come to this where companies are allowed to take advantage of the elderly. My parents have been victims of daily harassing phone calls and threatening mails. Their billing departments have all the records, and they are fully cognizant of their error. This is not an oversight but a deliberate attempt to confuse elderly customers so that they mistakenly pay twice every month for the same bill.
