Do NOT Hire Waterloos Old Fashioned Masonry

I had an extremely bad experience with Waterloos Old Fashioned Masonry. I hired them for sidewalk and parging work, but they never finished the job. They took $3,500 upfront, did subpar work, and then completely disappeared, blocking my number to avoid any contact.

To make matters worse, they caused damage to a neighbors car, leaving me to deal with the aftermath. This company is completely unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. Save yourself the frustration and your hard-earned money do not hire them!

I received a pricey quote to have a cement truck come with cement but Mike decided to just do sand mix and mix by hand without discussing this with me prior to starting this project. Hence changing the agreed upon terms of the contract. He did not offer a discount but said it was going to cost him more; which it didnt. I needed the job done so I let them proceed. They left my home in a mess (the hose and hose bin were covered in cement, the door and door knob had cement all over. They put all the trash in my trailer and didn't take it away. See photo.
They promised to come back and seal the floor but cancelled due to a
flat tireand then when they did show up a couple days later decided
they werent going to do that either; contrary to our contract.
The cement work that they did was poor, unlevel and cracked in many
places after it dried. Several areas were moving. I brought this to their attention and they said they would replace the loose areas. All they
did was just put an acrylic in the cracked seams and left without letting me know.. They also said and it was in our contract that they would put my appliances, cabinets and misc items back in the basement the following week, they did not show up and they have not responded to my requests. How will I ever get them back for 5 year warranty work if they wont respond or fulfill the terms of the contract?
They were paid in full for their services.
Don't use these guys as they are a dishonest and dont keep
their word. They also charged double for the job that was done and other contractors eyes have budged when I told them what I paid.

Professional, punctual( showed up when he said he would) and reasonably priced.
Having had issues with other projects where contractors dont show up when they say they will, I truly appreciated the time Mike took to communicate everything in writing. Mike recommended parging in certain areas where the exterior concrete was falling apart. Job got done and looks good so far.

Mike and his team did a great job in transforming my walkway with stamped concrete overlay - love the new curb appeal! They were reliable, cleaned up after themselves and responsive and at competitive pricing. Recommend to hire.

I had parging done and sealing was to be done two days later as agreed. It's seven days later and three agreed upon dates for sealing and each date no one has shown to do the job. I have a contract but it's useless. Still waiting.

Mike and his team did an amazing job. Would recommend him in a heartbeat. Clean and fast work.

Workerers were very efficiant & friendly. Everything turned out very nice. Very happy with the service.
Will definitly use Home Star service again.

I contacted a lot of companies asking for a gravel pad for our hot tub. Most of them said they would only pour concrete. Mike responded right away and came out quickly to take measurements. He assured me that the gravel would be good for the pad and made all the arrangements to have the gravel delivered. They worked so hard and did an amazing job. Very good clean up. Highly recommend.
