A Team Appliance Repair

This company came up in a pop-up ad when I googled a company that had been recommended to me. The technician came, looked at our fridge that was making a loud noise and assured me that it was an easy repair that he would do for $300. When we agreed, and I had signed his form, he asked for the money up front and only cash or debit. I foolishly paid $300 plus tax on debit and he went to work. 20 minutes later, he told me that he actually couldn't fix it without replacing a much larger more expensive part for $1,000. It was a small, older fridge and I said that I could pretty much buy a new one for that amount. He assured me a new one would be $2000 plus. (Not true as have since bought a new, similar one for $1100. I asked him to put it back together, he left several broken pieces of styrofoam and crammed it back together in about 4 minutes. I requested a refund of a part of the payment I had made since he didn't fix it as promised and was only there for 30 minutes. He said I would have to call the office. He suggested that I call the number on the form I signed. It was an unassigned number. I tried the "local" number where I had reached them first, it was busy. Meantime, my son looked up the company and saw so many reviewers with a similar experience. I called the Toronto area office and was basically told "too bad". I did not sign to say that I was satisfied, but there appears to be no recourse. It was an expensive lesson!

The technician was in my house for 10
Minutes & charged me $300. Assured me it was working. It is not working at all. They refuse to send a new technician out if I dont pay additional $800 for some part. Worst ever. I feel so ripped off & taken advantage of. Brutal.

Cant actually fix anything Put a bandaid on then try to come back charge again

After paying $280 for inspection and another 700 for parts they refused to install without paying upfront for the installation. The part took so long that new owners are in. Both the new owner and I would be present for install but the refuse to book it. Have now locked my file and wont make an install appointment

Replaced valve was dripping two hrs after installing.
Was told to book another appointment to resolve issue.Telephone agent Maria rude unprofessional and most unhelpful .Identical part on Amazon about 40$
I was charged 295.00.Total experience cost 468:00.
I diagnosed the problem and with my tech background could have done the repair myself but sought 'professional' service because the device was expensive. Bad experience .business NOT to be recommended. Rating: not enough zeros!!

Never, ever, under any circumstances call them. A technician came to check our dishwasher that would not turn on. He pulled it out, dismantled it and said we needed a new part. He quoted a total of $1500 for labor and the part and demanded we paid debit (red flag!). Turns out the real problem was the dishwasher was unplugged.

My dishwasher was leaking and so I called the A Team Appliance Repair and got fleeced. My dishwasher is still leaking.

We indeed wish we had read the reviews before we booked this company.
We called them because they promised prompt service. The dishwasher would not always drain, and the fridge was leaking small quantities of water. So far, the installation of a new drain pump in the dishwasher appears to have done the trick, but we cannot yet be sure. We paid at least $470 (no proper, detailed invoices) for diagnosing (supposedly) the fault in the fridge, ordering a new water valve,nand ten minutes labour plus transport. We called them back. The fridge still leaked. After eight minutes work we were told that the water valve had been tightened. The mechanic said, before leaving, that we might consider replacing the copper water line that leads into the rear of the fridge during the coming months. When he left, we found the fridge still leaked. When we complained, we were informed that a further visit would only take place if we paid for a plumber to replace the water line. We called another firm that also does plumbing. The water line is just fine. We probably never needed the new water valve. There is a crack in the tubing from the ice maker to the water valve at the very point it enters the valve. This is responsible for the leak. The part has been odered. We wIll pay the other company an extra $364. We informed A-team, noting that the water line had been inspected. They have refused a refund. We can proceed to small claims court (which is clogged up - and there already are apparently claims against this company), complain to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs (which already has a file, or engage in an expensive legal action .
