DG Design & Build

We upgraded two bathrooms and replaced carpeting and baseboards throughout three bedrooms and a hallway. In the main bath, this included resizing a window to accommodate a larger shower.

From the beginning, I could tell that Dylan was invested in making sure the project went well and would be according to what I wanted and to building codes. Out of all the contractors I met with, he was the only one that asked me for pictures in advance of the first visit so he could give some thought to the design. Even the subs he uses are top notch.

Throughout the project, Dylan did his best to keep us updated, and I could tell that he was as invested in the quality of the workmanship as I was, which comforting. He also worked with us to accommodate changes in scope.

He and his core crew of Danilo and Andrea work super hard and always made sure to clean up at the end of every day. While the project encountered a few hiccups along the way, including supply chain issues, Dylan always made them right. Hes knowledgeable and has the clients best interests at heart. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend DG Design & Build!

We recently contracted DG Design & Build to renovate our master ensuite. Nobody likes living through a renovation and there is always some amount of sticker shock in terms of the investment involved but Dylan and his team made the experience top notch and the results speak for themselves. We are so happy that we selected them to handle our project.

Our ensuite reno involved a complete demo and gut of the existing bathroom, relocation of plumbing for a curbless, walk-in shower, in-floor heating, installation of a freestanding soaker tub and fixtures, new floating vanity and one-piece toilet, removal of popcorn ceiling, a herringbone tile pattern on the walls, and the addition of new LED retrofit ceiling lights.

Key points that we really appreciated and brought added value to the process:

Professional and responsive communication Dylan was always on top of letting us know where things were at and I knew I could always reach him with questions or have an open conversation regarding the reno.

Collaborative we had an established design direction at the start but Dylan brought forth suggestions that improved on the functionality of our ensuite. He would offer advice and insight that was always for the benefit of the project.

Attention to detail  we felt that Dylan was really representing our best interests. He made sure that no corners were cut and things were done properly.

Respecting our home space the renovation lasted just over 4 weeks but Dylan and the team always cleaned up after themselves at the end of every work day. They were constantly moving out boxes or construction material to minimize the clutter that is unavoidable during a renovation. They laid down floor protection and protective barriers on furniture in high traffic areas.

Solid team of trades We wanted to work with a small company that we knew would be hands on. For the tile work, electrical, and plumbing, Dylan made sure he brought in specialists that knew their stuff. A special shout out to Nikola the tiler who brought in old world craftsmanship to our herringbone tile pattern which turned out amazing.

Thank you Dylan, Danilo, and Andrea at DG Design & Build! We would highly recommend this amazing team for any residential renovation project. Our old, builder-grade ensuite is now a fantastic, welcoming wellness space that we can retreat to at the end (or beginning) of every day.

We hired DG Design to do a reno of our bathroom and bedroom in our downtown Vancouver condo - we were very happy with the outcome and would recommend them for future projects. DG communicated with us as the owners throughout the design and building process, was helpful with troubleshooting issues, and made sure that we were happy with the ultimate outcome. We would certainly work with DG again.

The bathroom work involved: (1) the removal of an existing custom shower and a bathtub, replaced with a larger 7' custom built tiled shower with two shower heads; (2) replacement of existing electrical fixtures with dimmable LEDs; and (3) the installation of custom shelving next to the shower for storage. The bedroom work involved new wiring and installation of a remote control ceiling fan and a new light fixture.

I have to say I am as happy with the result as I am with the experience provided by DG Design & Build while renovating my ensuite bathroom.

We hired DG Design & Build because they came highly recommended from a family friend. Dylan and his crew did such an amazing job, on short notice and tight timelines, with a renovation to our backyard guest suite that had seen much better days. They did everything from interior framing, drywall and finished a bathroom to replacing the exterior siding and roofing.
Due to unexpected issues with the building, it was tough for them to finish with the tight deadline before Canada day but we were happy to have them back for a couple days to wrap it up. I wish I hired them from the start so they didn’t have to fix previous contractors poor workmanship.
Their skills and knowledge of construction were invaluable to the finalizing the conceptualization of the project and bringing it all together into a usuable space. I enjoyed having them in our home, as they started the day with a smile, and were easy to check in with for progress updates.

Dylan handled our kitchen and bathroom renovation. He designed and did the work. We chose to work with him primarily because he was attentive and his proposed budget was reasonable. He was quick to respond and answered all our questions throughout the project. We felt he explained the costs and options fairly. He provided some good ideas that had not occurred to us in the design stage and we are thankful for his creativity. We ran into unexpected delays and issues in the construction phase, which we believe may happen in every type of renos. He dealt with these challenges in a fair manner, although the completion date was delayed. He dealt with deficiencies in product or work fairly. Although the entire project took longer than we anticipated, we are glad with the end result.

DG Design and Build helped design my new double car garage. His team travelled back and forth from Vancouver to Vernon and got it done right on schedule. Extremely easy to work with and very professional. Dylan is very punctual and honest with the process and the cost. Definitely would use them again and recommend to all my friends and neighbours!

We bought a rental property that had various projects to complete, spanning from full tear out and rebuild, to cost effective spruce up. Working with Dylan took so much stress and pressure off the entire project. His attention to detail, broad skillset, and communication made the whole thing go amazing.
