Shower Stall Installation in Burlington
Dynamic Design Renovations Inc. NOT RECMMENDED. We hired Dynamic Design Renovations Inc (DDRI) in June 2023 to install a neo-angle shower stall kit and surrounding tile walls for $7,000. Apart from the decent tilework, the shower stall installation work was sloppy and unprofessional.
The first indication of faulty workmanship was that the shower door wouldnt close. We only found that out after allowing two days for the grouting sealant to dry. By that time, DDRI was long gone. The reason the door wouldnt close was two-fold (see pictures). First, DDRI installed the wrong hinges (meant for a rectangular shower; ours is neo-angle). Second, DDRI installed one glass wall crooked on the base, which left a 1-inch vertical gap between the wall and the shower door, allowing water to spray out during showers. They also failed to secure the upper mounding brackets linking the glass walls, so the walls were unstable. They also left shattered glass scattered on our laundry room floor (see pictures) from the demolition of the old shower but didnt return to clean it up. A week later they did provide us with a cleaning lady for a half-day, but that was after wed cleaned up their mess.
We notified DDRI of the faulty installation immediately, and they promised to come back to fix it. They never showed up. Literally dozens of times (all documented), they rescheduled the visit or simply were a NO-SHOW for appointments while we waited around for them to arrive. A year later (it is now June 1st 2024) they still havent returned.
They e-transferred a $1000 rebate in late summer 2023 to partially compensate for the delays. Then, after several more months of waiting for them to return to effect repairs, they offered another $2000 rebate. That was October 2023, and as of June 2024 we STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PROMISED REBATE despite repeated promises from the owners to send the money (Note: back in the fall of 2023, they provided me with a $1,500 cheque, but CIBC bounced it due to insufficient funds).
Because we couldnt use the shower without water spraying all over the bathroom floor, I took our case to the Better Business Bureau. DDRI said they would comply, but nothing changed. They still never showed up to make the required repairs. The BBB closed the case unresolved.
The bathroom supply retailer in Oakville who recommended DDRI has stopped endorsing them due to similar complaints from customers.
We ended up hiring a different, reputable contractor for $400 to come in and clean up the mess that DDRI left us with. Everything is fine now, but I am out the additional $400 and the $2,000 promised rebate that never materialized. I have a full audit trail of text messages to back up my story.
Long story short, that was June 2023 and today (June 1, 2024) DDRI still have not shown up and they still havent made good on their promise of the $2,000 compensation rebate.
I would not recommend DDRI to anyone.

Hey there we strive for the work that we do and the quality of work we do of course . We apologize that this is how you fell about the way your project has went . We did reimburse you 1000$ correct as well as we had a cleaning lady come and clean the basement area of course . We do not move clients furniture around we do not touch clients belonging . On the other note the shower head was changed 3 times as well as per request about the hight , the check provided to you was covered by the e-transfer 1000$ . Out of good faith we are going to reimburse you the 400$ you said you have to pay other contractor to come and fix the issues you are mentioning .
