D2 Build Inc.

We have used D2 now for two separate projects. They are very easy to deal with and genuinely nice people. Their quality of work and speed to completion was excellent. I fully trust them and their team which has not been the case for my experiences with other contractors. I would recommend them for any size of project big or small.

We hired D2 to rebuild/"renovate" our garage this fall. The garage was ancient and had a few peculiarities and challenges associated with the project, and of all the contractors we spoke to, D2 was the only one who not only understood, but embraced the job. Before we even hired them, they worked with our architect and engineer to make the job more manageable and cost-effective. They handled any issues that arose proactively and quickly. We were thrilled with the results, and would happily hire them again!

D2 did a fabulous job enclosing our porch, which turned into new hardwood and built ins and stuff and it's all great. Then they sorted out fixing a leak in our upstairs ensuite. The remediation was significant but we're thrilled now. It was a long process by its nature but the working relationship was great.

Also, they were great with our dogs!

I recently hired D2 Build to enclose my porch for a mud room and replace the existing porch framing, and I am delighted with the results. D2 Build remodeled my bathroom after a botched remodel by another company a few years ago. I was weary after that experience but D2 Build did not disappoint. The finished bathroom is incredible, the quality of the work is impressive. They exceeded my expectations and Im so happy with my new bathroom. Their trades always showed up when they said they would and Stephen was a great project manager. A few unexpected items came up during demolition and they worked with me to give me various options and solutions, and delivered on everything I asked. They were transparent about the cost of additional work or materials as the project progressed and I had no surprises on either cost or timing.

After a disappointing experience on my last demo with another company, I am so grateful that this was such a positive experience from start to finish. I would use D2 Build again for any of my own projects and would recommend them to family & friends without any hesitation.

Our long-awaited kitchen addition and renovation finally came to be when we hired D2 Build Inc. After an extensive search to find a contractor, we chose D2 Build Inc. because we had seen their work in our neighbourhood and their quote to do the work was right in our budget. We also really liked Steve! We began demolition on January 9, 2023. While the winter weather did not always cooperate, the team at D2 Build Inc. was ready to get to work.
Overall, we are very satisfied with how our renovation turned out. The workmanship is top-notch. I also want to make note that every single worker that came into our house was pleasant, professional, and tidy. Everyone spoke to each other and us with respect. Everyone was also very conscientious of the fact that I was working from home during the construction (about five feet from the construction zone!) and that there were two dogs in the mix. We also had to continue using the kitchen as it was during this time, since we could not move out. We are incredibly grateful for the care D2 Build Inc. took to ensure we were as un-bothered as possible.
Everything went smoothly, considering our house is 110 years old, however there was a major problem with our roof that required some quick thinking and an engineer to resolve. D2 Build Inc. handled everything as promptly as possible and resolved the issue to everyones satisfaction. We still puzzle over how our second floor had not come crumbling down prior to this, but we can sleep at night knowing it certainly will not come down now! There were also some complications around our electrical panel/connection that took some time to resolve between the electrician and Toronto Hydro. Everything was sorted out in the end, but the delays were frustrating.
There were minor communication issues, mostly after the main construction was done and the final details were getting sorted out, which sometimes meant someone would show up to do some work without us being notified. Not a big deal, I work from home and can be flexible. I would have preferred some advance warning.
I give D2 Build Inc. 4 ½ stars and I would recommend them to anyone!

We contracted D2 to renovate our kitchen, bathroom and replace all of our flooring. We consulted with a number of D2 references, one that we knew personally and all the feedback came back extremely positive.
D2 was extremely professional. They worked well with our designer and the suppliers we chose. Our project was pretty significant, and in our opinion D2 completed the project in the timeline we discussed with minimal delays. Were very pleased with the outcome of the work. They wanted to make sure that we were 100% satisfied with their work, and made sure that every final touch was completed along with a few changed we made along the way. We would certainly recommend D2 to others, and would work with them again on a future renovation project.

Jim and team were extremely professional. They were proactive and in constant communication. the end result of the project was greater than we expected. Would use them again

We did our Kitchen, 2 bathrooms and our basement. They were on time, on budget. Communication, service and craftmanship the very best. I would not hesitate to use them again and I would recommend to anyone.

I got D2 to design and install wood ceilings for me. They were fast, reliable, affordable and most of all, the quality of their work was extremely high. Will be using them for all of my renovations in the future.
